Systemdescription
TheTTCunitisforondecktestingandcongurationof
thetransponders.ItcantestallKONGSBERGtransponder
channels,CymbalandHPR400.Itcanalsotesttelemetry
transponderswithinternalandexternalsensors.TheTTC30
operatesforthemediumfrequencytranspondersandtheTTC
10forthelowfrequency.
Generalsupplyconditions
ThefollowinggeneralsupplyconditionsapplytothisTTCdelivery.
Receipt,unpackingandstorage
Uponacceptingshipmentoftheequipment,theshipyardand/orthedealermustensure
thatthedeliveryiscompleteandinspecteachshippingcontainerforevidenceofphysical
damage.
Iftheinspectionrevealsanyindicationofcrushing,dropping,immersioninwateror
anyotherformofdamage,therecipientshouldrequestthatarepresentativefromthe
companyusedtotransporttheequipmentbepresentduringunpacking.
Allequipmentmustbeinspectedforphysicaldamage,i.e.brokencontrolsandindicators,
dents,scratchesetc.duringunpacking.Ifanydamagetotheequipmentisdiscovered,the
recipientmustnotifyboththetransportationcompanyandKongsbergMaritimesothat
KongsbergMaritimecanarrangeforreplacementorrepairofthedamagedequipment.
Onceunpacked,theequipmentmustbestoredinacontrolledenvironmentwithan
atmospherefreeofcorrosiveagents,excessivehumidityortemperatureextremes.
Theequipmentmustbecoveredtoprotectitfromdustandotherformsofcontamination
whenstored.
Equipmentresponsibility
Unlessotherwisestatedinthecontract,theshipyarddoingtheinstallationand/or
equipmentdealerbecomesfullyresponsiblefortheequipmentuponreceipt.
Thedurationofresponsibilitycover:
•Theperiodoftimetheequipmentisstoredlocallybeforeinstallation
•Theentireinstallationprocess

TheTTCunitisforondecktestingandcongurationof
transponders.Twomodelsareavailable:
•TTC30formediumfrequencytransponders
•TTC10forlowfrequencytransponders
TheTTCcantestallKONGSBERGtransponderchannels,Cymbal
andHPR400.Itcanalsotesttelemetrytransponderswithinternal
andexternalsensors.
TheTTCunitcomeswith:

Testtransducerforacoustictest
Thetesttransducerisusedforacoustictest.TheTTCcommunicateswithtransponder
throughthetransducer.Acoustictestincludesinterrogation,read/settransponder
parametersandreadinginternalandexternaltranspondersensors.
Seriallinecableforconguration
TheseriallinecableconnectsatranspondertotheTTCandisusedfortransponder
congurationsuchaschangingacousticmodeanddefaultchannelsandSWdownload.
Powersupplyforchargingtheunit
MainspowercableisusedtoconnecttheTTCtoastandard115/230V acmainssupply
torechargetheinternalbattery.

yourselection.
Procedure
1Connectthetesttransducercabletotheupperrightconnector.
2PlacetheTesttransducerfacetofacewiththetransponder.
3CommunicationbetweentheTTCandthetranspondermayeasilybetestedby
selectingtheACOUSTICTESTtab.
4Enterserialnumber.
5Enterthetransponderchannelnumber.
6TapINTERROGATE.
7Agreenindicatorwillblinkonthedisplayifthereisacousticcontactwiththe
transponder.
8TapINTERROGATEagaintostoptheACOUSTICTEST.
Conguringthetransponder
Thiswillleaveyourtransponderwithanewconguration.
Prerequisites
ThetranspondermustbeconnectedtotheTTCunitviathetestandcongurationcable.
Procedure
1TapTransponderConguration.
2Makechangestothecongurationintherelevantelds.
3TapDOWNLOADANEWCONFIGURATIONtoupdatethetransponder.
Result
Ifthecongurationissuccessfulyouwillreceiveamessage;Downloadednew
congurationsucceededandresetperformedsuccessfully.

Preventivemaintenanceschedule
Inordertosecurelongandtrouble-freeoperationoftheTTC,certainspecicpreventive
maintenancetasksmustbedone.Thetasksareorganizedinapreventivemaintenance
schedule.
•Annually

ChargingtheTTCunit
Context
IftheTTCbatteryindicatorindicatesLOWpowerthenconnectthechargingcableand
chargethebattery.
Chargingoptions:
ATurntheunitoffduringchargingandthenturnitbackonagainwhenyouaregoing
touseit.
BLeavetheTTConduringcharging.
Procedure
1LocatetheMainscableinthefolderinsidetheunit.
2ConnectthecabletothepowerconnectoratthefrontoftheTTC.
Mainspowerconnectorislocatedatthefrontoftheunitonthelefthandside.
Note
UseonlytheMainscablesuppliedwiththeunit.
3Connecttheotherendofthecableintoa115/230V acmainssupply.
Note
ItisimportantthatthebatteryisfullychargedwhentheTTCisstored.Itis
recommendedthatthebatteryisrechargedatleastevery12months.
