EK-604/EK-605 Local Interface Kit
I. Accessory parts
Note:
When installing the keyboard, connect its cable to
the USB port added to the machine.
II. Installation procedures
1. Turn off the machine and unplug the power cord
from the power outlet.
2. Remove the IR upper front cover from the
machine (three screws).
3. Remove the cap from the cover on the main body
as shown in the illustration below.

After unpacking, be sure to get rid of the
packaging materials and keep them out of
the reach of children.
Putting the head in the plastic bag

4. Remove the cover from the main body as shown
below (one screw).
5. Remove the blind cover from the cover removed
in step 4 (one screw).
6. Remove the screw that holds the USB unit and
pull the unit out.
Note:
Raise the USB unit when pulling it out.
7. Disconnect the connector to remove the USB
unit.
8. Remove the USB cable from the local interface
board unit.
9. Attach the USB unit to the supplied local interface
board unit (one screw furnished with the local
interface kit).

10. Connect the connector removed in step 7 to the
interface board unit.
11. Remove the connector from the wire saddle
located on the main body.
12. Connect the connector removed in step 11 to the
local interface board unit.
13. Insert the two cables connected to the local
interface board unit into the wire saddle.
14. Connect the USB unit to the local interface
board unit with the supplied USB cable. Insert
the USB cable into the wire saddle.
Note:
Route the USB cable so that it presses down the
two cables that are connected to the local inter-
face board unit.

15. Install the local interface board unit. Put the
dowel into the hole and fix the unit with one
screw.
Note:
• Be sure to put the hook on the local interface
board unit into the positioning hole on the main
body.
• If loosened cables prevent the installation of the
local interface board unit, adjust the slack on
the cables from the gap created when the IR
upper front cover is removed in step 2.
16. To install the covers and other parts removed in
steps 2 to 4, reverse the removal procedure.
III. Affixing the label
Affix the label furnished with the local interface kit to
the position shown below.
IV. Setting the bluetooth
<EK-605 only>
1. Plug the power cord into the power outlet and
turn on the machine.
2. Display the Service Mode screen.
(For details of how to display the Service Mode
screen, see the service manual.)
3. System 2 →→Bluetooth Settings
4. Touch “Effective.”
5. Touch “END.”
6. Touch “Exit” on the Service Mode screen.
7. Turn OFF and ON the Main Power Switch.
Note:
When displayed the Service Mode screen, be sure
to turn off the main power after exiting the Service
Mode screen and wait for 10 seconds or more
before turning on.
8. Press [Utility/Counter].
9. Touch “Administrator Settings.”
10. Enter the administrator password and then press
“OK.”
11. Network Settings →Forward →Bluetooth Set-
ting
12. Check that “Enable” is selected and touch “OK.”
13. Touch “Close.”
14. System Connection →Cellular Phone/PDF Set-
ting
15. Check that “Allow” is selected and touch “OK.”
16. Continue to touch “Close” until the initial screen
appears.
