KRUPS "Cafe Prima"
This automatic coffee maker
has the following features:
. Exclusive KRUPS deep-
brew system with special
filtering action for maximum
flavor.
. Double-wall filter cone
.protects coffee aroma and
maintains Ideal temperature.
. Automatic heating plate will
keep the coffee at drinking
temperature (due to the
breakdown of the coffee
aroma, we recommend, not
toserve coffee whichhas
been kept warm for more
than one hour).
. Automatic heating plate has
non-stick coating for easy
cleaning. Raised edge keep
carafe firmly In place.
. The special design of the
heating system minimizes
the decalcifying and leaves
no residual water in the
system when brewing is
finished.
. Hinged water chamber lid
for easier filling.
. Hidden cord storage also
allows you to set the cord
length you need.
(See figure 10).
. Outside magnified water
level indicator makes filling
the right amount of water
easy and shows you when
brewing Is finished.
PREPARING COFFEE
Before making your first pot of
delicious coffee, we recom-
mend operating the coffee
maker once or twice with water
only.
. Besurethat the water
container is empty.
Remove literature, etc. if
Inserted In the water
container.
FILLING THE WATER
CHAMBER
. Firstremovethe glass
carafe from the warming
plate (1)and fill it with water.
. The amount of freshly
brewed coffee delivered
after the brewing process
will always be slightly less
than the amount put into the
water container. This is due
to the minimal absorption of
the water by the ground
coffee. Therefore, put In a
little more water to begin
with, so you will have the
number of cups that you
desire.
. Pour the water from the
carafe into the water
chamber. Do not fill above
the "Max." marking in the
water chamber (see figure 1,
2,3).
Replace the glass carafe on
the warming plate with filter,
lid for filter and glass carafe
in position.
PUTTING IN THE GROUND
COFFEE
. Remove filter holder (b) from
the machine and Insert a
paper filter (we recommend
KRUPS size 2). When
Inserting Filter paper make
sure the seam is pointing
towards the handle of the
filter holder (see figure 4).
Use your hands to conform
the filter to the contours of
the filter holder. This will
enable you to achieve better
results.
. KRUPS "Gold Tone" filters
#052 are available as an
accessory.
. Put ground coffee into the
filter holder (see figure 5).
We suggest using one level
KRUPS measuring spoon of
ground coffee for each cup
of robust brewed coffee.
After using your KRUPS
coffee maker several times
you can adjust the quantlt~
to suit your own taste. We
also do not recommend
using coffee that is ground
powder fine, this will prevent
water from passing through
the coffee.
. Placelid and filter holder
onto carafe as shown In
(figure 6) and place on
warming plate.
. Plug in appliance and turtl
on (see figure 7). The light
will go in Indicating that the
brewing process has begun.
SERVINGAND
WARMKEEPING
After brewing is completed
removeglass carafe with filter
from warmingplate. Remove
filter holder and put lid on
glass carafe (see figure 8). As
longas the coffee maker is
turned "ON". the warming
plate will keep the coffee at
drinking temperature.
CLEANING.
. Alwaysunplug this
appliance before cleaning.
Cleanthe filter holder,the
carafe and lid In a solution
of warm water and mild
liquid soap. These partsca,
also be placed in the upper
level of your dishwasher
for safe effective cleaning.
. Neverusescouring
agents.
. Never Immerse the
appliance itself inwater. To
clean, simply wipe off with a
soft, damp cloth.
. Neveruse a cloth to clean
the Inside of the water
chamber, as this might leave
fuzzy deposits in the
chamber. Just rinse with
cold water periodically.
