Plug In & Use
To start your vaccine and sample carrier simply plug it in, using the correct cable to either mains
electricity or a 12v socket in a vehicle.
Once turned on, the digital display will count down from 99.9 and you will hear the fan start
working. When the temperature display shows 0.0,the display will go through the following
sequence:
The set point can be checked by pressing the - or + buttons once. Take care NOT to
change the set point whilst checking
The set point and calibration setting will not be aected by disconnection from a power source
as they can only be changed by using the -or + buttons. The calibration setting should only be
changed by a person trained in calibrating medical equipment.
Warning: The controller will go through the above sequence EVERY time it is connected to
power. Do NOT press the - and + buttons unless you want to change the settings
Always ensure the carrier is on a at surface when in use and that the front of the carrier is not
obstructed or covered as the cooling system requires adequate ventilation.
The Labcold vaccine and sample carrier is designed for temporary temperature control
during transit or short term use only. It is NOT designed to be run for long periods of time
nor for permanent storage or transport of blood components.
CAL means calibration.
This display shows the
measurement of uncertainty,
in this case - 0.2 degrees.
Warning : This should only

trained engineer
SEt means set point.
This display shows the
temperature that the carrier
has been set to run at.
It is factory set to 5C but
you can change this at any
time by pressing the - and +
buttons twice and then - or
+until you reach the desired
temperature.
Act means actual
temperature.
This display shows the actual
temperature detected by the
probe inside the carrier.
When rst turned on it will
show ambient temperature.
It will decrease as the carrier
cools and displays all the
time the carrier is powered.
