BEFORE USING YOUR IRON FOR THE FIRST TIME
1. Unpack the iron, remove all the packaging materials.
2. Unwind the power cord.
3. Fill the iron with tap water, as described below in ‘Filling the Water Tank’.
4. Stand the iron upright on its anti-slip heel. Make sure the steam slider is turned to
‘No Steam’.
5. Plug in and switch on at the socket. The pilot light will blink and then illuminate.
6. When the pilot light goes out, the soleplate has reached temperature.
7. When you switch on the iron for the first time you may notice a slight burning smell,
this is normal for a new appliance and will stop after a few uses.
8. Move the steam control slider to the front of the iron ‘Maximum Steam’.
You will notice steam coming out of the soleplate.
9. Some residue may remain inside the iron from manufacture, so iron an old cloth or
tea towel for first use, do not use the iron on your laundry. Press the steam shot and
water spray buttons to run water through the iron.
10. When the water tank is empty, the iron is now ready to use.
FILLING THE WATER TANK
For best results, always make sure there is plenty of water in the tank when ironing, but
do not fill the tank beyond the ‘MAX’ level.
Only use water in the water tank. Do not add perfume, vinegar, chemically de-scaled
water or any other substances into the water tank.
1. Always make sure the iron is switched off and unplugged from the socket.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
ONE TEMPERATURE SETTING
This iron has one clever setting for use on all ironable fabrics. It creates the optimum
combination of temperature and steam output to iron your laundry. You do not need to
set the temperature, only the steam output.
This iron cannot be used on fabrics that cannot be ironed. If you are unsure, test the iron
on the inside of the hem of the garment.
Fabrics with these symbols are ironable, for
example, Polyester, Silk, Viscose, Wool,
Cotton and Linen.
Fabrics with this symbol are not ironable, for
example, Polypropylene, Elastaine
and Acrylic Fabric.
1. Fill the iron with tap water, as described in ‘Filling the Water Tank’.
2. Stand the iron upright on its anti-slip heel. Make sure the steam slider is turned to
‘No Steam’.
3. Plug in and switch on at the socket. The pilot light will blink and then illuminate.
4. When the pilot light goes out, the soleplate has reached temperature.
SETTING THE STEAM OUTPUT
WARNING: This appliance generates high temperature steam. To avoid the risk of severe
burns, never touch the soleplate during use. Always hold the iron by its handle.
To ensure good steam output, always make sure the water tank is at least a quarter full.
To dry iron without steam, keep the steam control slider at ‘No Steam’.
1. Move the slider towards the front of the iron for more steam. The nearer it is to
‘Maximum steam’ the more steam will come through the soleplate.
You can choose the amount of steam you want to use for each garment.
2. Delicate synthetic fabrics should be ironed without steam.

9
STEAM SHOT BUTTON
Use this button for an extra burst of steam at the front of the soleplate to help smooth out
stubborn creases and wrinkles.
Great for denim and linen, it can be used when you are ironing with or without steam.
1. Lift the iron slightly above the fabric surface and press the steam shot button firmly.
You may need to press the button a few times at first, to pump water through the
system.
2. Release the button as you iron, a shot of steam will penetrate deep into the fibres.
3. For a strong steam shot, wait at least 4 seconds before pressing the button again.
4. For an even stronger steam shot, slide the steam slider to .
VERTICAL STEAM SHOT
You can use the steam shot button when the iron is vertical. It is great for taking creases
out of curtains and garments on hangers. Follow the instructions in ‘Steam Shot’, holding
the iron upright 15 to 30cm away from the fabric to avoid scorching.
WARNING: Ensure the iron is pointed away from you and other people when using the
steam shot button. Never iron clothes whilst they are being worn. Keep your fingers at a
safe distance from the tip of the soleplate to avoid burning. You do not get a continuous
flow of steam on this setting, it is a powerful burst of very hot steam which can burn.

10
WATER SPRAY BUTTON
Use this button to lightly spray your fabric with water on really stubborn creases. It can be
used when you are ironing with or without steam.
Aim the spray nozzle at your fabric and press the water spray button a couple of times to
dampen the fabric with a fine mist of water, then iron.
Delicate synthetic fabrics should be ironed without steam, but can be sprayed.
AUTO SHUT-OFF
• The iron will automatically switch off when the iron is not moved and still switched on
at the plug. This is a safety feature.
• The iron will switch off automatically if left in a downwards position or left on its side
and not moved for 30 seconds. If left sat on its heel in a vertical position it will switch
off after 8 minutes.
• The pilot light will flash to show the iron is in ‘Auto Shut-Off’ mode.
• The iron will automatically switch on when it is moved.
• The pilot light will come on until the iron has reached temperature again. This can take
up to 60 seconds.
SWITCHING OFF
When you have finished ironing, place the iron on its anti-slip heel, move the steam
control slider to ‘No Steam’, turn off at the socket and unplug. Leave the iron to cool
down completely.
• After every use, empty the water tank.
• Open the water tank cover and drain the water from the
tank into a sink.
• Close the water tank cover.
• Always store the iron standing upright on its anti-slip
heel in a safe, dry place, with the tank empty and
soleplate cooled.

11
CARE AND CLEANING
• Switch off and unplug the iron, and let it cool completely before cleaning.
• Clean thoroughly before using for the first time and after every use.
• Check the parts for wear or damage after every few uses.
• Certain fabric finishes may leave a residue on the soleplate, which can affect the
performance and lead to ‘drag’ when ironing. This coating may be removed by wiping
the soleplate with a textured cloth. Dry with a soft cloth.
• Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads or wire wool to clean the soleplate.
• To clean the steam holes, take a damp cloth and wipe away any build-up around the
holes.
• Take care not to damage or scratch the soleplate by allowing it to come into contact
with metal objects such as zips.
• Never use sharp or rough objects to remove the deposits on the soleplate.
• The outside of the iron can be wiped with a clean damp cloth, dry thoroughly before
storing.
• Never immerse the iron in water or any other liquid.
• Never put vinegar or other descaling agents into the water tank.
• Always store the iron empty, cooled and standing upright in a safe, dry place with the
cord loosely coiled.
SELF CLEAN BUTTON
The Easysteam Iron already has a built-in anti-calc system to combat limescale build-up,
but you can use the ‘Self Clean’ button regularly to prolong the life of your iron. This
function removes mineral and limescale build-up inside.
Never put vinegar or any other descaling agents in the water tank.
1. Fill the iron with tap water, so the tank is half full, as described in
‘Filling the Water Tank’.
2. Stand the iron upright on its anti-slip heel. Make sure the steam slider is turned to
‘No Steam’.
3. Plug in and switch on at the socket. The pilot light will blink and then illuminate.
4. When the pilot light goes out, the soleplate has reached temperature.
5. Wait for one more cycle, the pilot light will illuminate, then switch off.
6. Switch off and unplug the iron and hold the iron horizontally over a sink.
WARNING: The iron soleplate will still be very hot. Hot surfaces and steam can burn and
possible injury could occur.

12
7. Press and hold down the ‘Self Clean’ button.
8. Shake the iron backwards and forwards and
rock from side to side. Steam and hot
water will sprinkle through the holes in the
soleplate.
9. When all the water has drained through, release the ‘Self Clean’ button.
10. Plug in and switch on the iron at the socket and sit it on its anti-slip heel.
As the iron heats up, the soleplate will dry.
11. When the pilot light goes off, gently iron a piece of used cloth to remove any water
stains that may have formed on the soleplate.
12. Switch off and unplug the iron, stand upright and allow it to cool down fully
before storing.

13
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Question: Why is there a clicking sound?
Answer: The anti-drip system automatically stops water escaping from the soleplate
when the iron is too cold. During use, it may make a clicking sound,
especially during heat-up or while cooling down. This is normal and indicates
that the system is working correctly.
Question: Why is the soleplate cold even though my iron is plugged in?
Answer: Check the iron is plugged in and switched on at the socket. There could be a
problem with the socket, try a different socket. If the iron is still not working
contact Lakeland Customer Services.
Question: Why is no steam coming out of the iron?
Answer: There may not be enough water in the water tank, see ‘Filling the Water
Tank’. Alternatively, the steam slider is in the OFF position, slide it to ON.
Question: Why is the steam shot button not working?
Answer: There may not be enough water in the tank, see ‘Filling the Water Tank’.
If you are using the steam shot for the first time, press the button a few
times to pump water through the iron until you get a powerful steam shot.
Question: Why is the water spray button not working?
Answer: There may not be enough water in the tank, see ‘Filling the Water Tank’.
If you are using the water spray button for the first time, press the button
a few times to pump water through the iron until you get a spray mist.
Question: Why is water leaking from the soleplate?
Answer: Always turn the steam control slider to the OFF position when filling the
water tank.
Question: Why is the iron damaging the fabric?
Answer: Check the care label of the garment to see whether the fabric is suitable for
ironing. This iron cannot be used on un-ironable fabrics. If you are unsure,
test the iron on the inside of the hem of the garment.
Question: Why are flakes and impurities coming out of the soleplate?
Answer: Hard water can cause minerals and limescale to build up inside the steam
chamber. Follow the instructions in the ‘Care and Cleaning’ section.
