to use it safely and recognise and understand the
consequences of incorrect operation.
Safety with children
•Children under 3 years of age must be kept away
from the washer dryer unless they are constantly
supervised.
•Children 8 years and older may only use the washer
dryer unsupervised if they have been shown how
to use it safely and recognise and understand the
consequences of incorrect operation.
•Children must not be allowed to clean or maintain
the washer dryer unsupervised.
•Please supervise children in the vicinity of the
washer dryer and do not let them play with it.
Technical safety
•Please observe the instructions in the “Installation
Manual” and “Technical data”.
•Before setting up the washer dryer, check it for any
externally visible damage. Do not install or use a
damaged machine.
•Before connecting the washer dryer, ensure that
the connection data on the data plate (fuse
rating, voltage and frequency) match the mains
electricity supply. If in any doubt, consult a qualified
electrician.
•Reliable and safe operation of this washer dryer
can only be assured if it has been connected to the
mains electricity supply.
•The electrical safety of this washer dryer can
only be guaranteed when correctly earthed. It is

Warning and safety information

7
Exclusive to Howdens
•If the electrical connection cable is faulty it must
only be replaced by a LAMONA Service Engineer to
protect the user from danger.
•The machine must be isolated from the electricity
supply when cleaning and maintaining the machine
and in the event of a fault.
•The machine must only be connected to the on-site
water supply using a new hose kit. Old hose kits
must not be re-used. Check the condition of the
hoses regularly so that you can replace them in
good time and avoid the risk of any water damage.
•The water pressure required is 0.3 –10 bar (0.03-
1.0 Mpa). It is necessary to have a cold water flow
of between 10-80lpm for the appliance to operate
efficiently.
•In areas which may be subject to infestation by
cockroaches or other vermin, pay particular
attention to keeping the machine and its
surroundings in a clean condition at all times. Any
damage which may be caused by cockroaches or
other vermin will not be covered by the warranty.
•The machine must not be used in a non-stationary
location (e.g. on a ship)..
Correct use
•Do not install the washer dryer in a room where
there is a risk of frost. Frozen hoses may burst or
split. The reliability of the electronic control unit may
be impaired at temperatures below freezing point.
•Before using the machine for the first time, check
that the transit bolts at the rear of the machine have
been removed (see “Installation Manual - Removing
the transit bolts”). During spinning, a transit bar
which is still in place may result in damage to both
the machine and adjacent furniture or appliances.
•Turn off the stopcock if the machine is to be left for
any length of time (e.g. holiday), especially if there is
no floor drain (gully) in the immediate vicinity.
•Flooding danger.
Make sure the drain hose is secure, so that the
force of the water flowing out of the hose does not
dislodge it.
•Take care to ensure that foreign objects (e.g. nails,
pins, coins, paper clips) do not find their way into
the machine with the laundry. These may damage
components of the machine, it’s surroundings and
the laundry.
•Observe maximum load limits for laundry. See the
Programme chart for the maximum recommended
loads for individual programmes.
•Machine cleaning and descale treatments must
follow the manufacturer’s instructions. LAMONA
cannot be held responsible for any damage
resulting from these treatments.
•Textiles which have been pre-treated in solvent
based cleaning agents must be thoroughly rinsed in
clean water before being washed in the machine.
•Do not use solvent based cleaning agents, e.g.
those containing benzine, in or on this machine, as
this may result in damage to component parts and
create toxic fumes. Such agents also pose a fire and
explosion hazard.
•Only use dyes specified by the manufacturer as
being suitable for use in a domestic washer dryer.
Always observe the manufacturer’s instructions
carefully.
•Colour run and dye removers contain sulphur
compounds which can cause damage such
as corrosion. Do not use these products in this
machine.
•If detergent comes into contact with the eyes, rinse
them thoroughly with lukewarm water immediately.
If swallowed, seek medical assistance immediately
and retain the packaging or label for reference.
Those with skin problems or sensitive skin should
avoid their skin coming into contact with detergent.

Washing environmentally and economically
Energy and water saving Choosing the correct function
(Pre-wash and Quicker Wash)
Detergent
•Water consumption and energy usage are
determined by the size of the load.
The most efficient use of the washer dryer is by
loading maximum dry load for the programme you
are using, (Do not overload).
•When smaller amounts of laundry are washed, the
automatic load control will reduce the amount of
water and energy used.
•Use the Quick Rapid 30” programme for lightly
soiled loads.
•Modern detergents make it possible to wash at
lower temperatures (e.g. 20 °C). The Eco 40-60
programme is able to clean normally soiled cotton
laundry declared to be at 40 °C or 60 °C, together in
the same cycle.
•Always select the lowest appropriate temperature.
The most efficient programmes in terms of energy
consumption are generally those that perform at
lower temperatures and longer duration.
•To maintain the hygiene of the machine, carry out a
hot wash (above 60 °C) at least 1 x per month.
•Water and power consumption may vary subject to
the changes in water pressure, water hardness and
water temperature, ambient temperature, type and
amount of laundry, selection of auxiliary functions
and spin speed, and changes in the mains voltage.
•Noise and remaining moisture content are
influenced by the spinning speed: the higher the
spinning speed in the spinning phase, the higher
the noise and the lower the remaining moisture
content.
Select:
•A wash programme together with the Quicker Wash
function for light soiling where there are no obvious
marks or stains.
•A wash programme without any functions for
normal to heavy soiling with visible marks or stains.
•The Pre-wash function for laundry with large
amounts of soiling (e.g. dust, sand). (Pre-treating
with a proprietary stain remover product may
assist in removing stubborn marks or stains).
•Do not exceed the amounts of detergent
recommended by the manufacturer on the
packaging.
•Adjust the dosage to the degree of soiling of the
laundry.
•Reduce the amount of detergent for smaller loads
(approx. ⁄ less than the amount recommended can
be used when washing a half load).
WARNING: Do not over fill the detergent drawer
with detergent as foaming and leakage will occur.
WARNING: Leaking from detergent drawer may
occur if too much detergent, or in wash treatment
additives are used with detergent. Please use as per
detergent manufacturer’s instructions and monitor
and adjust use accordingly.

13
Exclusive to Howdens
1 - Prepare the laundry
Sort the laundry General tips
Pre-treating stains
•Sort the laundry by colour and by care label.
Most garments have a textile care label in the collar
or side seam.
Tip: Dark textiles often contain excess dye and should
be washed separately several times before being
included in a mixed load. Always wash whites and
coloureds separately.
Place very small items or delicate items inside a
dedicated wash bag or pillow case when washing.
•Curtains: Remove all fixing hooks first.
•Any loose wiring in bras, shirt collar stiffeners, etc.
should be removed or sewn in.
•Close any zips, attach velcro fasteners, fasten hooks
and eyes etc. before washing.
•Fasten duvet covers, pillow cases etc. to prevent
small items from being rolled up inside them.
Do not wash any items in this washer dryer which are
specified by the manufacturer as not washable on the
care label ( symbol).
Do not wash footwear.
•Badly soiled areas and
stains should be pretreated
using a proprietary stain
treatment. Always follow the
manufacturer’s instructions.
•Empty all pockets, close zips and fasteners.
•Shake the laundry to loosen and be free of any
excess dust, flour etc.
WARNING: Damage due to foreign objects.
Nails, coins, paper clips, and so on can cause
damage to garments and components in the
machine.
Check the laundry before washing and remove any
foreign objects.
WARNING: Damage due to solvent-based
cleaning agents.
Cleaning agents containing benzine, stain remover,
etc., can damage plastic parts.
When pre-treating textiles, make sure that any
plastic parts (e.g. buttons) do not come into contact
with cleaning agent.
WARNING: Risk of explosion due to solvent
based cleaning agents.
When using solvent-based cleaning agents, an
explosive mixture may develop.
Never use solvent-based cleaning agents in the
washer dryer.

Overloaded
Full load
2 - Load the washer dryer
Open the door
Close the door
•Reach behind the door grip and pull the door open.
Check the drum for pets or foreign objects before
loading with laundry.
The most efficient use of energy and water is achieved
when a full load is washed. However, do not overload
as this can increase noise, affect wash performance
and shorten the machine’s service life.
•Unfold the laundry and load loosely into the drum.
Mixing both large and small items gives better wash
results and also helps distribute the load evenly during
spinning.
•Close the door (Do not slam closed). •Make sure no items are caught between the door
and seal.
Tip: Note the maximum load for each wash programme.
WARNING: Maximum load when using a drying
programme.

4 - Add detergent (continued)
•Add fabric conditioner (or liquid starch) to the
compartment.
Do not exceed the maximum level mark.
•Concentrated softener should be diluted, especially
if softener is present in drawer after wash cycle.
It will be automatically dispensed in the final rinse. At
the end of the programme a small amount of water
remains in the compartment.
If starching frequently, thoroughly clean the
dispenser compartment regularly.
Adding liquid fabric softener Tips on detergent usage
Adjust the detergent dosage to the level of soiling
of the laundry and the size of the load. Reduce the
amount of detergent with smaller loads (e.g. reduce
the amount of detergent by 1/3when washing a half
load).
Too little detergent
•Results in laundry not being cleaned properly and
may cause it to become grey and hard to the touch
over time.
•Can lead to a build-up of mould in the washer dryer.
•Results in grease not being completely removed
from the laundry.
•Can lead to limescale deposits on the heater
elements.
Too much detergent
•Causes poor wash, rinse and spin results.
•Causes higher water consumption as an extra rinse
cycle is automatically activated.
•Is a greater burden on the environment.
WARNING: Do not over fill the detergent drawer
with detergent as foaming and leakage will occur.
Using liquid detergent with a pre-wash
Liquid detergent cannot be used for the main wash if
the pre-wash has been selected.
Use powder detergent for the main wash.
Using tablets or liquid tabs
Always put detergent tablets or liquid tabs directly in
the drum with the laundry.
Follow manufacturer instructions - do not overdose.
Avoid using in wash treatments if machine foams
excessively and water leaks from dispenser area.
Using liquid bleach
Liquid bleach must be added manually either during
the pre-wash or during the first rinsing step of the
wash programme as the machine takes in water.
•Follow manufacturers guidelines.
•Do not mix detergents and bleach together.
