LaneSharkLS-3
COMPONENTS
(01)CUTTING DECK DELS3000002022A
The cutting deck on the Lane Shark LS-3 is the main platform
that supports the rotating assembly and most adjustment components
on the LS-3. When in the home position, all adjustment components are
mounted on top of the deck including the Spindle Mounting Plate (03),
Kickstand (04), Adjustment Hinge (05), Main Adjustment Arm (06), Main
Arm Support (10), and the Tower Locks (13). Mounted in the center of the
deck there is a .25 thick plate with a 4.5 inch hole, this is where the motor
mounts through the deck. This is called the Spindle Mounting Plate (03).
Closely surrounding the center hole are six mounting holes, these are for the
spindle to be mounted to the deck of the LS-3. Approximately 9 inches on
either side of the motor are two 90 degree angle iron deck supports (A&B)
that run front to back of the LS-3 and are approximately 24 inches in length.
(Facing the unit) The left deck support (A) is supplied with a bracket (C)
for the Kickstand (04) to connect once the LS-3 is in the vertical and oset
positions. The right deck support (B) is mounted to the Main Adjustment
Hinge (05) which allows the LS-3 to pivot into the vertical and oset
positions while maintaining attachment to the Mounting Plate (02).

COMPONENTS
(02)BACKPLATE BPLS3000002022A
The Backplate (02) mounts vertically to the rear of the Cutting
Deck (01) this allows the Backplate (02) to act as the main support system
for the LS-3. (Facing the unit) Oset to the left side of the Backplate (02) is
a roughly 3 inch Boss pivot pin, this attaches the Swing Arm (06), Kickstand
(04), Main Adjustment Hinge (05), Main Arm Support (10), to the Cutting
Deck (01) and operates as the Main Pivot Point (07). Surrounding this are
5 Position Adjustment (18) holes. By using the Main Pivot Point (07) and
the multiple Position Adjustments (18) it allows the LS-3 to transition up
to 180 degrees to the vertical and oset positions. (Facing the unit ) Near
the bottom right corner of the Backplate (02) a single Lock Bracket (09) is
attached to lock the Cutting Deck (01) via Tower Locks (13) to the
Backplate (02) when in the home position.

(850) 610-2870 www.lanesharkusa.com 13
LaneSharkLS-3COMPONENTS
(02)BACKPLATE BPLS3000002022A
The Backplate (02) is the main connection between the LS-3 and
the tractor. The LS-3 supports two types of mounting systems, SSQA and
John Deere Hook and Pin Style. The SSQA is mounted by attaching a SSQA
plate onto the backside of the LS-3 Backplate (02) using the SSQA Top (19)
and Bottom (20) connection points. The Hook & Pin-Style is mounted by
attaching the Mounting Hooks (11) located on the top left and right sides
of the LS-3. Once the Mounting Hooks (11) are attached, the Mounting Pins
(12) located on the lower left and right sides of the LS-3 will then lock the
LS-3 to the Hook & Pin-Style loader.

(850) 610-2870 www.lanesharkusa.com 14
LaneSharkLS-3
COMPONENTS
(06)SWING ARM SALS3000002022A
The Swing Arm (06) is the main connection between the Backplate
(02) and the Cutting Deck (01). This connection is made by attaching
the Swing Arm (06) to the Backplate (02) via the Main Pivot Point (07)
and attaching the Cutting Deck (01) to the Swing Arm (06) via the Main
Adjustment Hinge (05). This allows the LS-3 Cutting Deck (01) to move
180 degrees from directly in front of the tractor to the vertical and oset
positions while staying attached to the loader. Once in any of the positions
the Swing Arm (06) is supported by the Main Support Arm (10) to keep the
LS-3’s structure stable while in transition or operation. Extending forward
roughly 24 inches from the Swing Arm (06) is the Main Adjustment Hinge
(05). This allows the Cutting Deck (01) to move 180 degrees around the
Swing Arm (06) from the horizontal cutting positions to the vertical cutting
positions. (Facing the unit) There are two Lock Brackets (09) attached to
the left and right sides of the Swing Arm (06), the Lock Brackets (09) allow
the Swing Arm (06) to lock to the Cutting Deck (01) via the Tower Locks (13)
when in the home position.

(01)MOTOR MRLS3D00002022A
The motor is the main component of the Lane Shark LS-3. The 5.5 GPM
Danfoss gear motor is equipped with two #10 ORB (O-Ring Boss) inlets. It
is secured to the motor mount via two 1/2-14x1.5” socket caps with a 3/8
head (A) shown in gure 2. In order for the Lane Shark brush cutter to
operate to full potential, the tractor must have a hydraulic ow rate of at
least 5 GPM, optimal ow is 5.5 GPM. Hydraulics are linear, 5.5 GPM equals
100% of the optimal ow, 5 GPM equals 95% of the optimal ow and so on.

Hydraulic Hoses
The Lane Shark LS-3 requires two hydraulic hoses to operate. (NOT
INCLUDED) One for pressure (02) and one for the return (03). To run the
Lane Shark, YOU MUST HAVE AUXILIARY HYDRAULICS such as rear remotes,
third function, or a Lane Shark valve kit. Only the pressure comes from the
auxiliary hydraulics, and return MUST be to the SUMP.
(CANNOT RETURN THROUGH REMOTES). When using ORB, a minimum
inside diameter of 3/8” is required.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
• YOUR TRACTOR MUST HAVE AUXILIARY HYDRAULICS!
• DO NOT RETURN THROUGH REAR REMOTES!
• ONLY RETURN TO THE SUMP!
• NOT COMPATIBLE WITH DIVERTER VALVES!

Hydraulic Hoses
To ensure your safety and that no harm is caused the components
of your Lane Shark or your tractor, it is CRUCIAL that the hydraulic hose
system is installed correctly. You CAN NOT return to the valve powering your
Lane Shark. You MUST return to the SUMP. ONLY pressure is used from the
auxiliary hydraulics. If you fail to follow these instructions ANY warranty
on your Lane Shark will be voided. Follow these steps at all times while
operating the Lane Shark. Failure to follow these instructions could result in
serious injury or death.
Plumbing
1. With the Lane Shark attached measure your tractor to determine approximate
length of hoses (hose lengths will dier per tractor). To keep from reversing
the hydraulic hoses, it is recommended that you use male and female quick
disconnect ttings to attach the hydraulic hoses from your Lane Shark to the
tractor. (Shown in gure A)
2. To nd the proper hydraulic hose length from the Lane Shark to your tractor you
must position the Lane Shark in its oset position (see pg. 29 for position change
instructions) and then angle the loader arm of the tractor to approximately -35
degrees. The length should be approximately 7-1/2 feet.
3. Attach pressure hose to one side of your tractors auxiliary hydraulics.
4. Route the pressure hose along the tractor until you have reached the front of you
tractors boom.
5. For the return hose, we recommend using a “T” tting on the tractors loader
controls to return to sump. (Shown in gure B)
6. Attach the return hose to the “T” tting installed on the tractors loader controls.
7. Route the return hose along the tractor until you have reached the front of you
tractors boom.
8. Attach one pressure (02) and one return hose (03) onto your Lane Shark using
the two #8 ORB (O-ring Boss) inlets on your Lane Shark’s rotary motor. (Shown
on page 15)
9. Attach the hydraulic hoses on your Lane Shark to the hydraulic hoses on the
tractor using quick disconnect ttings. (Shown in gure A)
10. Secure all hoses to tractor.
11. Once connected the air must be bled out of the hydraulic hoses. To do this you
must briey engage the hydraulics until the motor on the Lane Shark begins to
rotate.
12. Check hydraulic uid and ll to operating level per tractor specications.

(14) Blade Carrier BCLSS4B0002022A
The Blade Carrier (14) is a U-shaped component roughly seventeen
inches long that attaches the Cutting Blades (17) to the spindle housing.
This allows the Cutting Blades (17) to rotate freely around the spindle
housing. One Cutting Blade (17) is mounted on each end of the Blade
Carrier (14) giving the LS-3 32 inches of overall cutting width. The Deck
Reinforcement (16) is located below the Cutting Deck (01), this keeps
the Cutting Deck (01) structurally sound while in operation. The Deck
Reinforcement Edge (15) is a 1/2 inch thick border that covers the front edge
of the LS-3. This Deck Reinforcement Edge (15) protects the Cutting Deck
(01) from any debris the LS-3 may come in contact with while in operation.
