STEP1:Openboxandinspectparts
Lifting Cautions
Never lift your top so it is tight against the
ceiling. This puts undue stress on the top
and the Hoist. Keep your body, especially
your hands away from edges of the top.
There is a natural tendency to align the top
with your ngers under the edge. We
recommend you push or pull the top from
the side and not use the bottom edge.
Periodically check nuts and bolts on the
Hoist-a-Top system for tightness. Also,
inspect the ceiling mounting points for
damage, or bent parts.
Never walk under or allow others to either
play , stand or work under the top. While it
is perfectly safe to allow a vehicle under-
neath the hanging top, care should be
taken with people because of safety
issues.

We give a one-year warranty from the date of
purchase on this product if installed and operated
according to these instructions. This warranty
covers parts if found defective and does not
included a provision for adjustment or repair of
said product and does not include consequential
damages. Please call customer service (866 284

tion. Proof of purchase date required.

Lifting and Lowering Your Top
Helpful Hint: Fill an empty one-gallon milk carton about
3/4 full of water. Slip the handle of the carton through
the rear hook on the empty hoist frame. This will
balance your hoist so you can raise it to the ceiling,
leveled (without top).
Lift the hoist to the ceiling and back your vehicle directly
under the hoist. (It may pay to mark a line on your
garage oor to aid in aligning your vehicle under the
hoist). Open both doors and the rear glass. Remove all
attaching hardware holding your top and the light
plug/washer tube (if any). The hoist is not designed to
lift your Jeep, just the top.
Turn the rear hook under and position in the center of
top. On JK models only, close the rear glass and pull the
drop stop down to keep the rear window in the closed
position.
Position the J Hooks under the edge at the front of the
top
JK Freedom Top Pieces
Remove and ip the two Freedom Top pieces and place
on the frame of the hoist as shown. Note that the
sections are upside down with the "S" shape to the
front. Slide the top so that the back edge is nestled
against the foam "T" supports. Install the Stretch cords.
!!Caution!: Wear eye protection when using cords.
Watching the installation video is imperative
We have included a step by step guide to installing
your Hoist A Top tm system via DVD. If for some
reason this DVD is damaged or not included you
can watch these instructions via
www.langeinstructions.com.
Even if you are a professional watching the DVD is
necessary.
Insert the DVD in any DVD capable computer or
DVD video player. Select the lifting mechanism
you purchase, pick your applicable Jeep model .
Videos vary from 8-11 minutes, and save hours of
install time, and operation time.
CAUTION: All Garages are dierent. Watch the included video all the way through , and carefully read the written instructions before installing.
If you are unsure or uncomfortable with installing this product contact a structural professional. Always test this mechanism using a live load.
Never stand, allow children, or pets under a lifted object on this mechanism.
Misuse or improper installation of this product can result in serious injury or death. Follow all safety rules and regulations of tools,
and ladders while installing this product. Wear safety glasses and protective gloves when installing this product.
