CAR: 1886 is regarded the year of birth for the modern automobile. Motorized wagons soon replaced animal-
drafted carriages, especially after automobiles became aordable for many people when the Ford Model T was
introduced in 1908.
PLANE: Airplanes come in a variety of sizes, shapes, and wing congurations. The rst pow-
ered airplane was own by the Wright brothers on December 17, 1903; over 100 years ago!

SKI PLANE: Nobody knows for sure when the rst airplane equipped with skis took to the air, but we do know
the practice of skiplane ying is about as old as aviation itself — and it’s an absolute necessity in many parts
of the world when winter’s wrath strikes.
HELICOPTER: An aircraft that moves vertically and horizontally, using lift and propulsion
derived from revolving rotors.
