GETTING STARTED
This manual covers the following Panel PC’s
Model LCD Size Native Resolution
SL151PC 15.0 Inch 1024 x 768
SL191PC 19.0 Inch 1280 x 1024
Initial Setup
The SL Series Panel PC is fully configured and calibrated before it leaves the
factory. Video
resolution is set to match the LCD Display, but if a lower resolution is preferred, setting the
screen resolution may be adjusted thru the Windows Control.
Setting the monitor to the recommended specifications will ensure optimal view quality and
performance.
The viewing quality will be best when the correct monitor type is selected. The
correct monitor type is LCD or Digital Flat Panel. Please refer to your operating
systems instructions for selecting Digital Flat Panel or LCD Monitor.
Operating at the native panel resolution can have a great impact on the viewing
quality. Flat screen monitors have optimum viewing quality at maximum (native)
resolution. Less than native resolution can make the screen appear distorted; thiscan
be observed in the vertical bars seen in a stipple pattern. Please refer to your
operating systems instructions for changing the video resolution.
A high refresh rate will not benefit a flat panel monitor’s viewing quality. LCD
monitors do not refresh the video image in the same manner as CRT monitors.CRT
monitors suffer from phosphor decay, requiring the image to be refreshed quicklyto
minimize flicker. An appropriate LCD refresh rate is 60Hz. The status menu will
display the current video mode. Please refer to your operating systems instructions
for changing the refresh rates.
LCD Heater (Optional)
The LCD heater option allows the monitor to be powered on when ambient temperaturesare
below 0º C. The heater warms the backlight tubes to prevent damage when starting. The
heater LED indicates the current monitor condition and is typically located in the upperright
hand corner of the monitor.
Blinking Slow Monitor is below 0ºC, the heater is active and warming the display.
On Steady The monitor is at a safe operating temperature.
Blinking Fast The monitor is operating above its recommended temperature.

front surface, and image will be adversely affected. For best results, use a clean, damp,non-
abrasive, lint-free cloth and any commercially available window cleaner to regularly clean the
surface. The cleaning solution should be applied to the cloth rather than the surface of the
touch screen.
Do not use paper products to clean the touch screen because it can scratch thesurface.
