1. General information:
The uninterrupted use o the product without any problems is subject to your care ul
attention to these instructions be ore using the product.
It is important to ollow these instructions in the interests o sa ety.
It is essential to heed the in ormation in the instructions or use.
Failure to do so shall release the manu acturer rom liability.
Please also read the in ormation on the product and on the packaging.
Please keep all the instructions care ully (mounting instructions and instructions or
use) and pass them on to the new owner i you sell the product at a later date.

3. Validity:
These instructions or use apply to the single and connected retractable patio roo
systems in the Pergola range.
4. Safety:
LEINER retractable patio roo systems are designed and made in con ormity with
the industry standard DIN EN 13561. I the operating instructions or the products
are disregarded, however, this may put the persons involved in danger and may put
the product or other property at risk.
The product must be in per ect condition when used and must be operated as
intended and as speci ied in these instructions, with due regard or sa ety and in ull
awareness o the risks. Any problems which may jeopardise sa ety must be
recti ied immediately.
5. Intended use:
LEINER retractable patio roo systems are designed to be used as sunshades. The
Sunrain models can also provide protection rom rain (see sections 7.1 and 7.2 or
more details). Any other application is regarded as other than intended use. The
manu acturer shall not be liable or any damage sustained as a result o misuse.
The awnings may not be modi ied, altered or itted with attachments without the
consent o the manu acturer.
Any parts which are damaged must be replaced immediately.
Original spare parts provided or speci ied by the manu acturer are the only parts
which may be used.
Parts sourced rom other suppliers cannot be guaranteed to have been designed
and made to the correct speci ications in terms o duty and sa ety.
The retractable patio roo systems are not designed to have items hung on them or
itted to them as the additional load caused by such objects may damage them and
prevent them rom working. There ore, such action is not permitted.
Assembly and maintenance work may only be carried out by quali ied
pro essionals.
LEINER GmbH shall not accept liability or any damage arising as a result o non-
compliance in this regard.

Motor running time Approx. 4 minutes
The electric motor is not designed or continuous duty. The motor cuts out a ter
approx. 4 minutes o operation to prevent overheating. The motor will be
operational again a ter 15-30 minutes but will then only work or 1-2 minutes.
Wind speed limits:
Wind resistance classes or awnings are speci ied in DIN EN 13561 section 4.3,
and a classi ication under this standard is the mark o a quality product. The higher
the class, the better the quality o the product.
LEINER retractable patio roof systems in the Pergola L range meet the
specifications for wind resistance class 3, the highest possible class. Please
refer to the following table for the permissible wind forces as measured on the
Beaufort scale:

The retractable patio roo may only be used in winds meeting the resistance class
speci ication stated by the manu acturer.
The wind orce igures listed above relate to the system without side panel. I a side
panel is itted, it must be opened in winds o orce 5 and above!
Snow:
Retractable patio roo systems are not designed to bear the weight o snow. They
must be retracted i it snows.
Noise emission:
The noise level when not itted is below 70dB(A), as measured in accordance with
EN ISO 12100-2:2003.
Accessories:
The ollowing accessories are available or LEINER retractable patio roo systems:
- Automatic sun/wind/rain sensor control
Detailed in ormation about the right accessories and how to use them is available at
every LEINER stockist.
7. Operation:
7.1 General in ormation or the sa e operation o retractable patio roo systems
Retractable patio roo systems may only be operated by persons who have been
instructed in their use by pro essionals.
Do not allow children to operate the awning without adult supervision.
Keep remote controls out o reach o children.
Do not touch the awning while it is moving in or out (risk o trapping ingers).
Do not walk on the awning abric and do not place objects on it which would weigh
it down.
Do not attach toys, objects or weights to the tracks or crossbars. Do not lean
objects such as ladders against the awning.
Switch o the automatic control unction (wind/sun/rain sensor control) when
working in the radius o the sensing devices to prevent the awning rom moving
automatically.
Retractable patio roo systems should be retracted be ore going out.
Do not extend the retractable patio roo in reezing conditions, snow or strong
winds.

7.2 Operating the retractable patio roo
When the system is put into service, there must be a pro essional demonstration o
the use o the electric drive to explain the layout o the controls.
E tending the system:
Press the relevant control and extend the awning ully or to the required position.
The end position is reached when the motor stops running.
The product only provides protection from rain and wind when fully
e tended!
The ront cross pro ile on the system is driven by a toothed belt. The other cross
pro iles run reely in the track and are only connected to each other via the canvas.
This means that there cannot be an even movement o the pro iles.
Retracting the awning:
Press the relevant control and retract the awning ully or to the required position.
The end position is reached when the motor stops running.
There is additional in ormation on special unctions in the documentation or the
control units.
I the system is retracted in windy conditions, the abric may be orced up causing
incorrect olds in the abric. When next extended, the abric will be stretched again
and the incorrect olds will disappear again with time.
7.3 Operating the lighting
When the system is put into service, there must be a pro essional demonstration o
the use o the electric drive to explain the layout o the controls.
Switch on light:
Brie ly push button. Light intensity can be either increased or decreased by pushing
the corresponding button or a longer time
.
Switch off light:
Brie ly push button.
8. Cleaning and care:
Using a suitable aid to reach the required height, disconnect the drive motor rom
the power supply.
Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads!
Do not use solvents like spirit or gasoline!

Cleaning the product:
Brush down the product with a so t broom or hand brush.
SUNWORKER Cristal:
Never clean the abric using a pressure washer.
This will damage the abric and cause it to leak.
PRECONTRAINT 302 (PVC):
The abric may only be cleaned with a pressure washer
i the pressure is signi icantly reduced or a large distance is maintained between
the abric and nozzle.
Do not use a concentrated jet. Instead, use a wide jet or this work.
The abric can only be cleaned with a pressure washer i it is operated on a very
low setting or i the nozzle is held at a extended distance rom the abric. Always
use a an jet rather than a pencil jet itting.
The casing and guide pro iles can be cleaned with a standard detergent and wiped
down with a damp cloth.
9. Maintenance:
The retractable patio roo can only be guaranteed reliable and sa e to use i the
system is inspected and serviced regularly.
Check the retractable patio roo regularly or signs o wear and damage to the
canvas, pullers, casing and guide pro iles.
Clean the tracks or the rollers at least once a year (especially in the spring) and
inspect them regularly or oreign bodies.
Check the pull cable or wear and damage at least once a year. The problems
which may arise as a consequence can be prevented i parts are replaced in due
time.
Arrange or any damage which is discovered to be repaired by a LEINER stockist or
a suitable repair company.
Retractable patio roo systems which are in need o repair must not be used in
order to prevent urther damage.
10. Dismounting:
Incorrect mounting and dismounting practices can cause injury or property damage.
Always arrange or a LEINER stockist to dismount the system.

or the product.
