1.APPLICATION
The portableDensityand Viscositymeter VDM-250.1series (hereinafter: VDM-
250.1 or device)aredesigned fordensity,dynamicviscosityand kinematic
viscositymeasurementsofanypureliquidsdirectlyintanks, withoutsampling,
atthe depthup to6meters.The deviceallowsreadingsof relativedensity(see p.
7.3.).
It maybe used forqualitativeand quantitativecontrolofpetroleumproductsinthe
processofproduction,refining,transportation,storing and trading of petroleum
products.

5.CONSTRUCTION*and OPERATING PRINCIPLE
The deviceconsistsofcontroller(electronicdigitalunit)and
density/viscosity/temperaturesensor(fig.1)withcable.
NOTE: The cable ofthe sensorhasametal connectionplug withalatchinsideof
it (see fig.4). Afterthe cable isconnected tothecontroller–thelatchfixes
the plug.Todisconnectthe cable fromcontroller–takethe metal
connectornearcontroller’sbodyand pull itcarefully.DON’TPULL THE
CABLEFORDISCONNECTION.
The sensorismade fromstainless steel. The
operating principleof the density/viscosity
sensorbased on the measuring ofresonant
oscillation frequency ofmechanicaloscillating
system, whichiswhollyimmersed intothe
liquid.
Thismethod allowsmeasurerealdensity
and viscosityof liquidwithout extraction of
samples, at anydepth.
