of a new product-naming system. The ThinkPad R61 notebook will now
be referred to as either the ThinkPad R400 notebook or the ThinkPad
R500 notebook. The second character of the name refers to the display
size of the ThinkPad notebook, making it easier to understand the two
different offerings (ThinkPad R400 = 14.1" display and ThinkPad R500 =
15.4" display). Also, all ThinkPad systems will now transition to widescreen
offerings and will include a variety of new technology features.
