INTRODUCTION
Congratulations for purchasing a Lenoxx Sound telephone. Your model PH-332 will
provide you with many years of trouble-free enjoyment. Some of the features of
the PH-332 are;
ADJUSTABLE DISPLAY &TIMER
1. Shows you how long you are "on the phone".
2. Time of day.
3. Number you dialed from memory or from keypad.
4. Timer can also be reset during the call to show how long you are "on hold" etc.
SPEAKERPHONE - Allows you to make or answer phone calls hands-free; so that you
can type and talk at the same time, oryour whole family can take part in the conversation.
20 ONE-TOUCH SPEED DIAL BUTTONS - For emergency or other frequently
dialed numbers.
LAST NUMBER REDIAL - Useful if'line is busy - just get a new dial tone and press
the Redial Button.
DESK OR WALL USABLE - No special hardware needed, all cords and wall mount
adaptor included.
TONE/PULSE SWITCHABLE DIALING - Suitable for computerized call directing also
phone banking.
FULLY MODULAR JACKS - For easy plug-In Installation.

CAUTION:

If
you have a 4-prong style jack. simply
use a modular adaptor (not included).
1.Insert the modular plugs of the Coiled Handset Cord into the jack of the Handset
and into the jack on the SIDE of the Telephone Base (either end can be plugged in).
2. Insertthe modular plugs of the Straight Telephone Cord (not coiled) into the modular
jack at the
REAR
of the Telephone Base and plug the other end into your modular
wall phone jack (either end can be plugged in).

alkaline batteries (included) Into the batterycompartment on the bottom of
cabinet.Slideout Name Indexdownto expose the Battery Door.and open the Door with
a screwdriver. Be sure to Install the batteries correctly as shown inside the Door.
( - ) side should touch the spring. Close the Battery Door.Also check these batteries
and replace every 6 months or if display gets dim. Batteries are required for the Display
and the Clock.

INSTALLATION
RINGER ON/OFF SWITCH
Select the desired function of the tone ringer.
OFF - The tone ringer does not sound, for undisturbed privacy.
ON - Normal setting, the phone rings on incoming calls.
NOTE:
If
your Ringer Switch is in OFF position, only this phone will not ring, other
phones in your home on the same line will continueto ring.
NOTE: When Installation Is completed, pick up the Handset to listen for dial
tone before using this phone for the first time. If you hear the dial
tone, you Installed the phone properly.
TONEIPULSE SWITCH
Select the type of dialing that you desire or that your telephone system requires.
TONE - The set will operate using tone dialing.
PULSE - The set will dial using rotary dial type pulses (you will hear clicking when
you dial numbers).
If you are not sure if your phone line is tone or pulse, switch the Tone/Pulse Switch
to TONE position. Dial a phone number, if you get connected you have tone service.
If you still hear the dial tone and no connection Is made, switch to PULSE position.
NOTE: Even when your phone is set to pulse service, this phone can be switched to
temporary tone for access to services that reg tone signaling including tone
activated computer systems. Just press the _* Button after dialing in pulse
and your buttons can now be used for tone Signaling for this call only.

ANSWERING CALLS WITH SPEAKERPHONE
Whon the phone rings, press the Speakerphone Button, the rod lamp will light, it is not
nocessary to lift the Handset.
When your cali ends, press the Speakerphone Button again, the lamp will go off.
MAKING CALLS WITH SPEAKERPHONE
1,Select the desired dialing mode with the Tone/Pulse Switch (do this only the first time).
2 Press the Speakerphone Button to get a dial tone - no need to 11ftthe Handset.
3 Dial your call. The Display will show the numbers you are dialing and the Speakerphone
Lampwill light.
4 When the conversation is completed, press the Speakerphone Button again to release
the phone line and the lamp will go off.
LAST NUMBER REDIALING

This Is useful especially if line is busy.
1. Get a new dial tone and press the Redial Button. The Display will show the number
being dialed.
2. To get a new dial tone, press the Flash Button or hang up the phone for 2 seconds.
Then press the Redial Button. This phone will remember the last number dialed even
ovemlght. Ifyou do not want anyone to know which number you dialed last, pick upthe
phone and press any number.
HANDS-FREE ANSWERING
Be sure to notify the other party that you are using the speakerphone mode, the other
party may not wish anyone else to hear the conversation.
1. Press the Speakerphone Button, the indicator will light and you can begin to speak. The
Display will start counting.
2. Adjust the Speakerphone volume to the desired sound level while the other
party is talking.
3. To switch the conversation from speakerphone to private simply lift the Handset.
NOTE: If a squealing or whisting sound is heard, reduce the volume setting.

DISPLAY &CLOCK OPERATION
NOTE: You need to install 2 "AA" batteries to insure your clock and display
works properly.
THIS DISPLAY WILL SHOW YOU 3 THINGS
1. Time you are on the phone.
2. Time of the day.
3. Number you are calling from keypad or memory.

TIME YOU ARE ON THE PHONE
When you press Speakerphone Button or lift the handset, the timer will start counting
up showing seconds and minutes. This is useful if you forget to set the timer
manually. If you want an exact time of call (connection), follow below:
A.
Dial your call.
B. When the calling party answers, press the Timer Button, the timer will reset to
zero and start counting.
C. When you replace the handset or press the Speakerphone Button, the timer
will stop counting and, in 10 seconds, switch back to normal time of day clock.
NOTE: This timer can also be used to see how long somobody has kept you on
"hold", simply press Timer Button anytime during ccnvereatlon.

TO SET TIME OF THE DAY
A. Make sure the Handset is on the Base and the Speakorphone Is off.
B. Press Mode Button once.
C. The hours start to flash.
D. Press the Time Set Button to advance to the corroot flour,

If a "P" appears, this means PM. If no letter appoore, Iho time Is AM.
F. Press the Mode Button a second time, the minutes start to flash.
G. Press the Time Set Button till the correct minutes ahow
H. Press the Mode Button a third time - This will start your olock working (normal
position) and the seconds Dispaly will start advancing,
3. DISPLAYING THE NUMBER DIALED
When you dial a number, the Display shows the number you dialed for about 10
seconds. Then the display automatically switches to the call timer mode. This
display will show up to 10 digits.
NOTE: When you dial from a Memory Button, the display will switch from time
of the day to the memory number (you previously stored). This will only
happen if you lift the handset or press the Speakerphone Button.

STORING TELEPHONE NUMBERS INTO MEMORY LOCATIONS
NOTE: This phone has 20 one-touch memories. This Is very useful for emergency
numbers or numbers you call very often such as your parents or best friends.
To use the one-touch numbers just get a dial tone and press one of the 20
memory buttons. To store a number Into any of these 20 locations just follow
the Instructions below. Remember to write the names you stored onto the slide
out memory index card under this phone. The display will show you the
numbers you are dialing or storing Into memory.
NOTE:
It
is important to write the emergency numbers Into the memory index.
Occasionally, if the phone is disconnected from line or moved from room to
room, it is possible for memory of numbers to be lost, the manufacturer does
not assume responsibility for.customer's reliance on this memory feature.
STORING TELEPHONE NUMBERS
NOTE: This telephone will store up to 16 digits In each memory position. Follow this
simple step by step method.
1. Make sure the phone is plugged into the phone Jack and batteries are installed.
2. Press the Speakerphone Button - the indicator will light.
3. Press the Store Button once.
4. Dial the number you want to store (the display will show the numbers).
5. Press a memory button from M1 to M20 (where you would like your number stored).
6. Press the Speakerphone Button again.
7. Repeat steps 2 to 6 to store the remaining numbers into the remaining
Memory Button.
EXAMPLE: Suppose you want to store 1-212-555-1212 Into Memory Button #2.
1. Press the Speakerphone Button.
2. Press the Store Button.
3. Dial 1-212-555-1212.
4. Press M2.
5. Press the Speakerphone Button.
1. You must remain on the line and briefly explain the
reason for the call before hanging up. Otherwlso, they
may think it's a real emergency.
2. Programming/testing of emergency numbers should
be performed in the early morning or lato evening
(off-peak hours).
NOTE: WHEN PROGRAMMING OR
TESTING EMERGENCY NUMBERS:
Although testing the programming of
emergency numbers is not a
recommended procedure, if you do make
a call to an emergency number:

STORING TELEPHONE NUMBERS INTO MEMORY LOCATIONS
NOTE: Emergency calling is an important safety feature that should be used wisely.
If you program an emergency number into the memory - mark it clearly and
test it before an emergency. LENOXX assumes no responsibility for customer's
reliance on this memory feature.
NOTE 1. If you move your phone to another room or disconnect the phone line, your
stored numbers will remain In the memory for a short time, so quickly
reconnect it to the new jack or you will have to reprogram the memory
numbers.

NOTE 2. If the operator recording comes on during storing numbers with the message
"your phone is off the hook", ignore this. During storing of numbers the circuit
simulates an off hook condition. This Is normal. Wo suggest you program the
numbers quickly to avoid operator mossllgo8.
NOTE 3. In case you want to change a number, simply atore n new number, the old
number will be automatically erased.
TO DIAL A NUMBER FROM MEMORY BUTTONS
1.Press the Speakerphone Button or pick up the handset (to Qot dial tone).
2. Press the button in which the number you want to dial Is storad, M I, M2 or M3 etc.
You will see the memory number on display.
The unit will dial the number stored in the memory you BBloctod automatically.
EXAMPLE: Pressing M2 will dial (in TONE or PULSE) tllo number you stored In M2.
TO LIST YOUR MEMORY NUMBERS
1.Slide out the Index Paper from under the phone.
2. Write the numbers on the Index (better In pencll, 90 you can change them later).

The phone can be mounted on a wall phone plate. If you do not have a modular wall
phone plate installed, we recommend that you consult your telephone company or
installer to get one, or see below, for Instructions.
1. Reversible Handset Holder - When the telephone Is mounted on the wall, the
Reversible Handset Holder must be adjusted so It will hold the Handset.

2. To use as a wall phone, you must use the plastic (box shape) Wall 'Mount Adaptor.

3. Snap Wall Mount Adaptor into the bottom of phone as shown on adaptor ("UP"
to point to top of phone).
5. Plug the 3" wire into wall jack.
6. Put phone over wall plate, make sure both posts fit Into slots on the back of phone.
Then push down to lock phone onto wall plate.
To temporiarily rest the handset (if wall mounted) without hanging up, during a
conversation, place on Temporary Handset Rest.

FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS TO MOUNT THE PHONE ON THE WALL
WITHOUT A STANDARD WALL PLATE JACK.
Use the enclosed template(see page 14) to determine the screws locations on the wall.
Locate a wall stud. Install the mounting screws Inlo Ihe wall stud. Leave 3/16" (5 mm)
of the screws exposed to mount the telephone. "

your local hardware store for details. Place the Telophone Base on the two mounting
screws and gently push down to lock Into placo. We recommend you to buy #8 or
#10 Pan head sheet metal screws, 2" long (screws are not included).

Use the enclosed template to determine the location for the mounting screws. Use a
1/4" masonry drill bit and drill the two holes. Insert plastic anchors and install two
screws. Leave 3/16"(5mm) of the screws exposed to mount the phone. Place the

and screws not included).

your home or a neighbor's home.

Check the line with another phone.

1. If problems with your telephone service occur later, try to determine if the trouble
is with the telephones which you own or with the telephone company equipment.

source of the trouble and it should be tested and repaired if necessary before it
is reconnected.
3. There are no user maintainable parts or adjustments on this set. Should your phone
require repair, contact the factory for instructions (except for cords which you can
buy at any phone store).

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION FOR
HANDS-FREE SPEAKERPHONE OPERATION
• If it is difficult to transmit because of a high background noise level in the other
party's environment or telephone line noise, lower the volume level.
• If you hear whistling or squealing, reduce the Volume Control setting.
• Echo effect
Rooms, with bare hard surface walls and floors, generally reflect sounds more
readily than rooms with drapes, carpet and other sound absorbing furnishings. The
solution is to reduce overall sound levels or change location of the phone.
• When this set is used in a noisy room, all or part of the incoming call may not be
heard. To eliminate this problem, lower the noise level in the room.
• If a feedback (whistling) sound is heard, reduce the speakerphone volume setting
slightly.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
1.Keep the phone away from bathtub, water or very high heat and humidity (keep away
from stove or radiators).
2. Avoid placing it in very hot sun.
3. Do not staple phone cord.
4. Do not, under any circumstances, disconnect the cord from the telephone without
disconnecting the cord from the telephone line first. Ringer voltages can be high
and dangerous.
5. Cleaning the exterior surface of the set should be done on a regular basis. Use a
cloth slightly dampened with warm, clean water to remove excess dust and dirt. Do
not use benzine, thinner, or the like, or any abrasive powder to clean the cabinet.
Wipe it with a soft cloth. The set should be kept free of dust, moisture and vibration,
and should not be exposed to direct sunlight.
6. DO NOT USE WAXES, SOLVENTS OR DETERGENTS OF ANY KIND TO CLEAN
YOUR SET.
These products can damage the surface of the case. Do not allow any liquids to
get inside the case.
