DVD Player + TV + Dolby Digital Sy tem (Audio/Video Receiver)
1. Connec he audio cables o he AUDIO OUT L (lef -whi e) and R (righ -red) jacks on he back of your DVD Player,
and o he corresponding audio inpu jacks on your audio video receiver.
2. If you have a Dolby Digi al or DTS receiver, inser a coaxial digi al cable (no included) o he DIGITAL AUDIO OUT
jack on he DVD player and o he Digi al Inpu jack on he back of he receiver. This connec ion will allow you o use
he Dolby Digi al or DTS decoder func ions of your AV amplifier (receiver). You mus also se he Digi al Ou pu
se ing in he Sound rack menu (see page 17).
3. Connec he video cable.
Ba ic video connection - Connec he video cable (yellow) o he VIDEO OUT jack on he back of your DVD
Player, and o he Video Inpu jack on your TV.

Your DVD player is equipped wi h some special fea ures. The following informa ion summarizes some of hese fea ures.
INTRODUCTION
The On-Screen Information Di play
This menu bar display can bring up o access cer ain fea ures while discs are playing. Icons and words represen he differen fea ures
suppor ed by your DVD player. By selec ing differen icons and words, you can access fea ures including REPEAT, AUDIO, SUBTITLES,
CAMERA ANGLE and LANGUAGES, e c.
Time Search
The Time Search fea ure le s you go o a poin on a disc by en ering he elapsed ime in he on-screen ime display. For example, if your
favori e scene in a movie is one hour and welve minu es af er he beginning of he movie, you can en er 01:12:00 in o he ime display
and go righ o ha poin in he movie.
Rating Limit
Your DVD player allows you o se ra ings limi s and passwords. For example, you can se he DVD player so ha any movie wi h a PG-
13 ra ing or above requires a password o be en ered. There are many levels of ra ings o choose from.
Since no all discs con ain ra ings, you can also decide if you wan o allow free access or require a password o view unra ed discs.

1. POWER button - Press o swi ch he se on or off.
2. STANDBY indicator - This lamp has 2 colors: red and
green (green is STANDBY, red is ON). When he player
is off (s andby), press he POWER bu on on he
REMOTE, he indica or ligh s up in RED which urns
he se on.
3. PLAY indicator - During play, his indica or ligh s up,
also when you press any bu on on he REMOTE, his
lamp flashes rapidly o show you he remo es signal was
received.

Screen Saver
When he power is on and no video signal is ou pu , several minu es la er, your DVD will change o Screen Saver mode au oma ically.
For example, when playing a CD music disc (no video ou pu ), he screen will change o Screen Saver, you will see a moving ball on
he screen. You may exi Screen Saver mode by pressing any of he remo e bu ons.

all songs on he disc.
17.DISPLAY/EXIT button - Press once o display all he disc informa ion;
press again o exi display.
18.MUTE button - Ins an ly urns off he sound, press again o res ore sound.
19.ANGLE button - Uses o access various camera angles on a DVD.
20.AUDIO button - Displays and changes he audio menu and language of a
DVD if presen on he disc; or selec s s ereo, lef or righ audio channel of a
music disc.
21.CLEAR button - Use his o erase any wrong number you inpu .
22.STOP button - S ops play.
23.SELECT button - Used o confirm your selec ion.
24.SLOW button - Makes he pic ure advance in slow mo ion.
25.FORWARD button (FAST FORWARD) - Searches forward hrough a disc.
26.REWIND button (FAST BACKWARD) - Searches backward hrough a disc.
27.MENU button - Press o display he discs menu (if your disc has a menu).
28.SEARCH button - Allows you o selec he desired disc s ar ing ime, rack
or i le.
29.PROGRAM button - Allows you o play he disc in a programmed order.
This is especially useful on Audio discs.

Normally, DVD video discs are divided in o i les, and he i les are
sub-divided in o chap ers. Audio CDs are divided in o racks.

Each i le, chap er or rack is assigned a number, which is called
i le number, chap er number or rack number respec ively.
There may be discs ha do no have hese numbers.

On Safety
As he laser beam used in he DVD player may be harmful o
he eyes, do no a emp o disassemble he cabine . Refer
servicing o qualified personnel only (i is perfec ly safe if you
don open he cabine ).
Should any solid objec or liquid fall in o he player, unplug
he player, and have i checked by qualified personnel before
opera ing i any fur her.
On Operation
If he player is brough direc ly from a cold o a warm loca ion,
or is placed in a very damp room, mois ure may condense on
he lens inside. Should his occur, he player may no opera e
properly. In his case, remove he disc and wai abou an hour
for he mois ure o evapora e. If he player has no been used
for a long ime, urn he POWER bu on o ON o warm i up for
a few minu es before inser ing a disc.
This DVD player is designed o be played on a s able no vibra ion
posi ion. If you bump he se during DVD play, he pic ure or
music may s op or skip for several seconds. This is normal
for his ype of player.
On Placement of Your DVD Player
Do no leave he player in a loca ion near a hea source, or in a
place subjec o direc sunligh , excessive dus or mechanical
shock.
Do no place he player on an inclined or uns able place.
Do no place any hing wi hin 1 inch of he sides or back of he
cabine . The ven ila ion holes mus no be covered for he player
o opera e properly and prolong he life of i s componen s.
If he player or discs will be lef in a car parked in he sun, pu

16 X 9 Wide creen (16:9) - Choose his se ing if your DVD Player is
connec ed o a widescreen TV. If you choose his se ing and you don have
a widescreen TV, he images on he screen may appear dis or ed due o
ver ical compression (faces may seem long and hin).
If you play a disc recorded in 4 X 3 forma on a widerscreen TV, he lef and
righ side of he screen will appear black.

To Load and Play a Di c
NOTE: We call any DVD or AUDIO CD as disc in his bookle .
Turn on he TV and DVD player ( press ON/OFF on he player or press he POWER bu on on he remo e con rol in STANDBY mode).
1Press he OPEN/CLOSE bu on on he fron of he DVD player or he EJECT bu on on he
REMOTE, wai a few seconds, he disc ray will open.
2Place a disc gen ly in o he ray wi h he discs label facing up (double-sided discs have con en on bo h
sides, so you can place ei her side up).
3Press he OPEN/CLOSE or PLAY bu on, he disc ray will close.
The DVD player reads he discs able of con en s ( his may ake a few seconds) wi h a loading icon
on he lef upper corner of he screen, and hen one of he hree hings happens depending on how
he disc was programmed:
The disc s ar s playing.
The disc menu appears on he screen. One of he op ions will be S ar Disc Play. Highligh ha
op ion and press he SELECT bu on or PLAY bu on.
The DVD Players main menu appears on he screen. Highligh he Play op ion and press
SELECT bu on.
5Press STOP bu on o s op play.
6 Af er play, press OPEN/CLOSE or EJECT bu on o open he ray and ake he disc ou of he disc ray.
NOTE: When player is s opped, he display will show Pre S op, he player records he poin where
STOP was pressed (RESUME func ion). Press PLAY again, playback will resume from his poin .
When he ray is opened or STOP is pressed again, he re urn func ion will be cleared and he se
is fully s opped.
4Press VOLUME UP or DOWN bu on o adjus he volume level on your TVs REMOTE and DVDs

A DVD movie disc is capable of having an on-screen menu ha is separa e from he DVD players menu
and on-screen display. The disc menu migh only con ain a lis of he i les and chap ers, or i may allow
you o change fea ures such as language and playback se ings.
Al hough he con en and opera ion of disc menus varies from disc o disc, he following example will give
you an idea of wha o expec (mos people will jus pu a disc in he door and press PLAY).
1. BASIC PLAY
1While he disc is playing, press MENU, he disc menu appears, bu varies from disc o

To access he disc menu when
youre playing a disc, press

o choose, and press SELECT. In he example on he lef , Language has been
selec ed.

4Press MENU o resume playback.
