Launch Kits
LG will send Launch Kits to all Verizon Wireless Direct locations the
week of May 16th.
Launch kits contain one mock-up unit and a pack of reference cards.
Store locations may use the VX4650 mock-up units to merchandise
the floor once they sell thru their VX4500s.
If your location does not receive a Launch Kit, please contact your
Area Merchandising Manager for a replacement kit.
Store locations may use the literature, product sheets, accessory
brochures, data brochures, and other training materials internally.
Manufacturer’s literature should not be displayed or presented to
customers.

Call out cards for the VX4650 will be in the collateral warehouses on
May 16th. Please check with your Area Merchandising Contacts if

Helpful Hints
Manually Programming the VX4650
1. Press "menu" + 0 and press “000000”
2. Press "1" key for Service Programming
3. Press "ok" (Read only)
4. Input the "Phone number (MDN)" and press "ok”
5. Input the "Phone number (MIN)" and press "ok”
6. Input the "NAM1 Home SID" and press "ok”
7. Input the "NAM1 Name" and press "ok”
8. Confirmation "Basic NAM1 is completed" when programmed
successfully
9. Press Left Soft Key for "Exit". Powering Down will proceed
IP Address Programming
1. Press "menu" + 0 and enter service code "000000"
2. Press 9 for "WAP Setting”
3. 6 Items will be displayed on the LCD screen
4. Press 1 for "Proxy Address Setting”
5. Press 2 for "Proxy Port Setting”
6. Press 3 for “User Password”
7. Press 4 for "Homepage”
8. Press 5 for "Clear Perm Mem”
9. Press 6 for "Reset Browser"
OTA Instructions
1. Perform the usual billing system activation procedure
2. Power up the phone and enter the Star Code, *228 + [send], on the
handset
3. The following audio message will be heard:
“Welcome to Verizon Wireless’ Over the Air programming. This
call is airtime free. Press ‘1’ to program your phone. Press ‘2’ to
update your roaming capabilities.”
Note: Programming will take up to 2 minutes. Should the
programming exceed 45 seconds, the following audio message
will be repeated at 25-second internals: “Please continue to hold.
Your phone is being programmed.”
You will hear an audio message once the phone has been
successfully programmed
How to Send a Text Message
1. Press down on the Navigation Key and select New Message (2)
2. Press Left Soft Key for Contacts to enter a recipient from the
Contacts (1), Recent Calls (2), or Recent Addresses (3)
menu or use the key pad to enter a new e-mail address or phone
number and press OK. Up to 10 recipients can be added.
3. Scroll down and enter the message (up to 160 characters) using
the keypad and press Left Soft Key for Send.
How to Access the Web
1. Press left on the Navigation Key to access the web browser.
2. Once the web browser is launched, you will see the Home Page.
3. You can end a browser session by pressing END at any time.
How to View the Software, PRL, ERI and Browser Version:
1. From the Settings (9) menu, select Phone Info (8)
2. Select S/W Version (2)

Enhanced Messaging Service
(EMS) Send and receive text messages
with graphics and sounds. 1. From standby mode, press the Messages icon (down) on
the Navigation Key and select New Message (2).
2. Press Left Soft Key for Contacts to enter a recipient from
the Contacts (1), Recent Calls (2) or Recent Addresses
(3) menu, or use the keypad to enter a new e-mail address
or phone number. Up to 10 recipients can be added.
3. Select Message and press OK.
4. Enter the message (up to 160 characters) using the keypad
and press OK.
5. Press Left Soft Key for Send.

2. Say a command: call someone (calls a contact in your
phone book), voice mail (calls voice mail), digit dial (dials
a phone number by speaking the digits), service alerts
(checks missed calls, voice mails or new messages), missed
calls (checks missed calls), contacts (reads, creates or
erases a contact), driving (activates Driving Mode),
announce (turns on audio confirmation of menu
navigation), time and date (announces current time and
date), phone status (announces status of battery usage,
signal strength, service mode, GPS location and roaming)
Speakerphone For safe, hands-free operation. 1. From standby mode, press the side Speakerphone Key,
and “Speaker On” will appear on the screen.
2. Press the side Speakerphone Key again to turn off
speakerphone.
Mobile Web 2.0 Customizable, enhanced online
access. From the main screen, press the Web icon (left) on the
Navigation Key.
Get It Now
Grants access to games
applications, and special features. While in standby mode, press the Get It Now icon (right) on
the Navigation Key to quickly access the GET It Now menu.
