It is recommended to remove any disc from
the player while moving the set

RegionalCodes
This unit has a regional code printed on the rear of the
unit.This unit can play only DVD discs labeled same as
therearoftheunitor“ALL”.
• Most DVD discs have a globe with one or more
numbersin it clearly visibleonthecover.This number
must match your unit’s regional code or the disc
cannotplay.
• If you try to play a DVD with a different regional code
from your player, the message “Check Regional
Code”appearsontheTVscreen.
It is forbidden by law to copy, broadcast, show, broadcast
via cable, play inpublic, or rent copyrighted material
without permission. This product featuresthe copy
protection function developed by Macrovision. Copy
protection signals are recorded on some discs. When
recording and playing the pictures ofthese discs picture
noise will appear. This product incorporates copyright
protection technology that is protected by method claims
of certain U. S. patents and other intellectual property
rights owned by Macrovision Corporation and other
rightsowners.Useof thiscopyrightprotectiontechnology

SpeakerConnections
Connect the SPEAKERS jacks on this unit to the
corresponding input jacks on your speaker.
(Speakersnotsupplied)
• If [Speaker Setup] on the setup menu is set to
[5.1 Ch] during playback of the multi channel
audio, only left channel and right channel will
output audio.
• Use speakers with the specified impedance
shownontherearpanelofthisunit.

• Connecting the speaker wire with improper
polarity(+or-)mightresultindistortedsound/low
qualitysound.
• Placing the speakers too close to your TV might
distorttheimageontheTV.
ComponentVideoConnections
Connect the COMPONENT/PROGRESSIVE
SCAN OUTPUT jacks on the unit to the
corresponding input jacks on your TV using a
YPbPrcable.
• You will still need to connect the left and right
audio cables to the TV, or digital audio cable to
yourstereo.
• If your TV accepts progressive format signals,
you must use this connection and set
[ProgressiveScan]to[On]onthesetupmenu.
Caution : You must set the [TV Output Select]
option to [YPbPr] on the setup menu to use this
connection.
DigitalAudioOutputConnection
Connect the unit’s DIGITAL AUDIO OUTPUT
(COAXIAL) jack to the corresponding jack on
youramplifier.
• If the audio format of the digital output does not
match the capabilities of your amplifier, the
amplifierwillproduce a strong, distortedsoundor
nosoundatall.
• To see the audio format of the current disc in the
on-screendisplay,pressAUDIO.
• This unit does not perform internal (2 channel)
decoding of a DTS sound track. To enjoy DTS
multi channel surround, you must connect this
unit to a DTS compatible amplifier via this unit’s
digitalaudioOutput.
5.1CHAudioOutputConnections
Connect a amplifier with analog 6 channel input
jacks.
• Six channel digital surround sound via a digital
connection can only be obtained if your amplifier
isequippedwithadigitalmultichanneldecoder.
• Make the appropriate sound setting using
[SpeakerSetup]optiononthesetupmenu.
S-Videoconnection
Connect the S-VIDEO OUTPUT jack on this unit
to the corresponding input jack on yourTV using
aS-Videocable.
You will still need to connect the left and right
audio cables to the TV, or digital audio cable to
yourstereo.
Caution :You must set the [TVOutput Select] option
to [S-Video] on the setup menu to use this
connection.(Seepage8)
FMRadioconnection(Optional)
Connect the aerial.The reception will be best
when the two loose ends of the serial are in a
straight and horizontal line.
