How to Use the Joystick Button
You can easily control the functions of the monitor by pressing the joystick button or moving it left/right with
your finger.
Basic Functions
Power on Press the joystick button once with your finger to turn on the
monitor.
Power off Press and hold the joystick button once with your finger to turn off
the monitor.
◀/▶Volume
Control You can control the volume by moving the joystick button left/right.

Moving and Lifting the Monitor
When moving or lifting the monitor, follow these
instructions to prevent the monitor from being
scratched or damaged and to ensure safe trans-
portation, regardless of its shape or size.
yIt is advisable to place the monitor in the
original box or packing material before
attempting to move it.
yBefore moving or lifting the monitor,
disconnect the power cord and all cables.
yHold the top and bottom of the monitor frame
firmly. Do not hold the panel itself.
yWhen holding the monitor, the screen should
face away from you to prevent it from being
scratched.
yWhen transporting the monitor, do not ex-
pose the monitor to jolts or excessive vibra-
tion.
yWhen moving the monitor, keep it upright and
never turn the monitor on its side or tilt it side-
ways.
CAUTION
yAvoid touching the monitor screen as much
as possible. Do not apply pressure.
- This may result in damage to the screen or
some of the pixels used to create images.
yIf you use the monitor panel without the stand
base, its joystick button may cause the moni-
tor to become unstable and fall, resulting in
damage to the monitor or human injury. In
addition, this may cause the joystick button to
malfunction.

Installing the Monitor
Assembling the Stand Base
1Place the screen face down.
2Rotate the Stand Body 90˚ counter clockwise.
yTo protect the screen from scratches, cover
the surface with a soft cloth.
yTo avoid scratching the head, make sure that
when rotating the Stand Body, the stand
body does not make contact with the head.
yApplying excessive force when tightening
screws may cause damage to the monitor.
Damage caused in this way will not be cov-
ered by the product warranty.

Stand Body and push it all the way up.Turn

Detaching the Stand Base
1Place the screen face down.
yTo protect the screen from scratches, cover
the surface with a soft cloth.
CAUTION
yThe components in the illustrations may differ
from the actual product.
yDo not carry the monitor upside down, as this
may cause it to fall off its stand and result in
damage or injury.
yTo avoid damaging the screen when lifting
or moving the monitor, only hold the stand
or the plastic cover. This avoids putting
unnecessary pressure on the screen.
CAUTION
2BodyTurn the screws on the Stand Base to the
left to detach the Stand Base from the Stand
Body.
2Connect the Power Cord to a wall outlet.
3Press the (Power) button on the bottom of
the monitor to turn it on.
yTo avoid the risk of electric shock, disconnect
the Power Cord before moving or installing
the monitor.
CAUTION
Installing on to a Table
1Lift the monitor and place it on the table in an
upright position.
Place at least 10 cm away from the wall to
ensure sufficient ventilation.

Adjusting the Stand Height
1Place the monitor mounted on the stand base
in an upright position.
2Push the Head downward and pull out the
Locking Pin.
3Handle the monitor with both hands for safety.
4The height can be adjusted up to 100.0 mm.
yOnce the pin is removed, it is not necessary
to re-insert it to adjust the height.
yProblems with the height or angle adjustment
of the product caused by the attachment of
protective glass in Internet cafes specializing
in gaming will not be covered by the
warranty.

Adjusting the Angle
1Place the monitor in an upright position, mount-
ed on the stand base.
2Adjust the angle of the screen. The angle of
the screen can be adjusted forwards or back-
wards from -5° to 20° for a comfortable viewing
experience.
Tidying Cables
1Use the screw provided to attach the cable
holder to the stand body as illustrated.
2Gather and bind the cables with the supplied
cable holder.

yTo avoid injury, do not put your fingers or
hand between the head and the base when
adjusting the screen's angle or height.
yBe careful not to touch or press the screen
area when adjusting the angle of the moni-
tor.

Pivot Feature
The pivot feature allows the monitor to rotate 90°
clockwise.
Head
Stand
yTo avoid scratching the stand base, make
sure that when rotating the monitor using
the pivot feature, the stand does not make
contact with the monitor.
WARNING
1Raise the monitor to the maximum height.
3Rotate the monitor clockwise as shown in the
figure.
2Adjust the angle of the monitor in the direction
of the arrow as shown in the figure.
4Complete the installation by rotating the
monitor 90° as shown below.
yAuto Pivot feature of the display is not
supported.
yThe screen can be rotated easily using the
screen pivot shortcut key provided with your
Windows operating system. Note that some
Windows versions may use different settings
for the screen pivot key or may not support
the pivot key at all.
ySupported Windows versions: Windows 7
and Windows 8
yWindows screen pivot shortcut keys
- 0°: Ctrl + Alt + Up arrow key (↑)
- 90°: Ctrl + Alt + Left arrow key (←)

Using the Kensington Lock
The Kensington security system connector is locat-
ed at the back of the Monitor set.
For more information on installation and usage,
refer to the Kensington lock user manual or visit
the website at http://www.kensington.com.
Connect the Kensington security system cable
between the Monitor and a table.
yThe Kensington security system is optional.
You can obtain additional accessories from
most electronics stores.
NOTE
yTake care when rotating the monitor if the
cable is connected.
yTo avoid injury when rotating the display, do
not place your fingers between the display
and the stand base.

1Place the monitor's screen face down. To
protect the screen from scratches, cover the
surface with a soft cloth.
2Using a screwdriver, remove the four screws
and detach the stand from the monitor.

Installing the Wall Mount Plate
This monitor meets the specifications for the wall
mount plate or other compatible devices.
1Place the screen face down. To protect the
screen from scratches, cover the surface with a
soft cloth.
2Place the wall mount plate onto the monitor
and align it with the screw holes.
3Tighten the four screws to fix the plate to the
monitor using a screwdriver.
Installing on the Wall
Install the monitor at least 10 cm away from the
wall and leave about 10 cm of space at each side
of the monitor to ensure sufficient ventilation.
Detailed installation instructions can be obtained
from your local retail store. Alternatively, please
refer to the manual for how to install and set up a
tilting wall mounting bracket.

yThe wall mount plate is sold separately.
yFor more information on installation, refer to
the wall mount plate's installation guide.
yBe careful not to apply too much force while
mounting the wall mount plate as it may
cause damage to the screen

To install the monitor to a wall, attach a wall
mounting bracket (optional) to the back of the
monitor.
Make sure that the wall mounting bracket is
securely fixed to the monitor and to the wall.
1If you use screws longer than the standard
length, it may damage the inside of the prod-
uct.
2A non-VESA standard screw may damage the
product and cause the monitor to fall.
LG Electronics is not liable for any accidents
relating to the use of non-standard screws.

yUse the screws specified by VESA stan-
dards.
yThe wall mount kit includes the installation
guide and all necessary parts.
yThe wall mounting bracket is optional. You
can obtain optional accessories from your
local dealer.
yThe length of the screw may differ for each
wall mounting bracket. Be sure to use the
proper length.
yFor more information, please refer to the
user manual for the wall mounting bracket.
NOTE
CAUTION
yUnplug the power cord before moving or
installing the monitor to avoid electric shock.
yInstalling the monitor on the ceiling or on a
slanted wall may result in the monitor falling
off, which could lead to injury. Use an autho-
rized LG wall mount and contact the local
dealer or qualified personnel.
yApplying excessive force when tightening
screws may cause damage to the monitor.
Damage caused in this way will not be cov-
ered by the product warranty.
yUse the wall mounting bracket and screws
that conform to VESA standards. Damage
caused by the use or misuse of inappropri-
ate components will not be covered by the
product warranty.
yTo prevent injury, this apparatus must be
securely attached to the wall in accordance
with the instrallation instructions. (This per-
tains only to Australia and New Zealand.)
yWhen measured from the back of the moni-
tor, the length of each installed screw must
be 8 mm or less.

USING THE MONITOR
Connecting to a PC
yThis monitor supports the *Plug and Play
feature.
*Plug and Play: A feature that allows you to
add a device to your computer without having
to reconfigure anything or install any manual
drivers.
HDMI Connection
Transmits digital video and audio signals from your
PC to the monitor. Connect your PC to the monitor
using the HDMI cable as shown in the illustration
below.
yDo not press on the screen for a prolonged
period of time. This may cause image distor-
tion.
yDo not display a still image on the screen for
a prolonged period of time. This may cause
image retention. Use a screensaver if pos-
sible.
CAUTION
yConnecting your PC to the monitor using the
HDMI cable may cause device compatibility
issues.
yUsing a DVI to HDMI / DP(DisplayPort) to
HDMI cable may cause compatibility issues.
CAUTION
yWhen connecting the power cord to the out-
let, use a grounded (3-hole) multi-socket or a
grounded power outlet.
yThe monitor may flicker when turned on in an
area of low temperature. This is normal.
ySometimes red, green, or blue spots may ap-
pear on the screen. This is normal.

Connecting Peripherals
USB Cable Connection - PC
The USB port on the product functions as a USB
hub.
yMake sure to install the most recent Windows
OS service pack before using the product.
yPeripheral devices are sold separately.
yA keyboard, mouse, or USB device can be
connected to the USB port.
NOTE
Cautions When Using a USB Device
yA USB device with an automatic recognition
program installed or that uses its own driver
may not be recognized.
ySome USB devices may not be supported or
may not work properly.
yIt is recommended to use a USB hub or hard
disk drive with an external power supply. (If
the power supply is not adequate, the USB
device may not be recognized properly.)
CAUTION
To use USB 3.0, connect the A-B type USB 3.0
cable of the product to the PC.
Peripheral devices connected to the USB 1, 2 port
can be controlled from the PC.

Headphone Port Connection
Use the headphone port to connect a peripheral
device to the monitor. Connect as illustrated.
NOTE
yPeripheral devices are sold separately.
yIt is difficult to connect an angle plug
earphone or a peripheral device, so please
use a straight type plug.
