LG HSC5650 User manual

Setup requires LG Setup Remote #124-213-07. Note:
Cloning multiple HCS5650 units requires an LG
#LT2002 (TLL-1100A can also be used) cloner. Con-
tact your LG Account anager at 877-793-6484 for
information on how to obtain these.
STEP 1. CONNECT THE HCS5650 TO ONITOR
The order in which you connect the HCS5650 to the monitor may be a crit-
ical factor in a successful setup. Wait to turn on monitor. Make sure to first
connect these cables from the HCS5650 to the monitor 1) HDMI, 2)
RS-232C, 3) power cord and 4) RF Coaxial cable. The HCS5650 cycles
at “plug-in” and locates a monitor with which to integrate. If no monitor is con-
nected at “plug-in”, it may not setup properly.
STEP 2. POWER UP ONITOR
After connecting as explained above, turn on the HCS5650/monitor using
the setup remote. It is important to only hit the power button one time as the
initial power-up may take 30 seconds from the time the power button is hit.
STEP 3. ENTER INSTALLER ENU
Aim the setup remote at the TV and toggle the menu button until the menu
locks up. Then enter the installer’s menu code (9876) and press Enter. You
will now see the installers menu.
STEP 4. SET TV TO DEFAULT
Using the arrow keys on the remote, select item 117 which is Factory Default.
Change the setting to 1 and press enter.
STEP 5. TUNING SETTINGS
Go back into the Installers menu using the directions above:
Set Band ode (Item 003) – Default is “1” for cable; Set to “0” for
Broadcast
Scan ode (Item 013) – Default is set to “1” to enabling TV to power
off after scrolling through all of the channels once the ‘2+5+5+Menu’
step is performed. This is generally desirable when TV is being used with
older pillow speaker/remotes which lack a TV Power Button. ption:
Set to “0” to allow scrolling through channels continuously without pow-
ering off the TV.
Disable unwanted inputs ( ne or more of the following Installer Menu
Items: 035, 036, 038, 039, 087, 091, 092) – Set to “0” to disable se-
lected input(s) from showing up in the channel lineup. Without disabling
an input, it will appear in the channel line up when channeling up or
down. This is done to accommodate hospitals using DVD players etc that
desire patients to easily select the DVD player input by simply scrolling
through the channels until the DVD input appears.
Panel Delay (Item 110): Make sure this Item is set on “4”. Default has
been “8”, however we are changing it to “4” with future shipments. This
will make the monitor turn on faster (and keep it from going to hiberna-
tion while the monitor is powering on).
Press the “Enter” or “ K” Button two or three times to exit the Installer menu
and save your changes.
STEP 6. SET CHANNELS
Enter the TV’s On-Screen enu by pressing the enu Button on the re-
mote.
Perform the User Menu Set Up “AUT PR GRAM” to generate your
Channel Map
Scan through the available channels using the Channel Up/Down
Edit your channels to remove any unwanted channels
Add logos to your channels as needed
STEP 7. LOCK CHANNELS & SETTINGS
Enter the Installers menu again to “set” your TV with the new settings. Upon
entering the installers menu (previous directions), key in “2+5+5” and then
press the “ enu” Button. (Caution: If you key in “2+5+5 and then the
“Enter Button, nothing will happen.) When you enter “2+5+5+Menu”, the
Installer Menu is cleared from the screen and you will see your channels
flash as the TV scrolls through all the settings and then stores them.
STEP 8. ADDING CUSTO CHANNEL LOGOS
You can add custom channel logos for analog channels if you could not find
the appropriate logo for a channel within the regular setup menu. Upon en-
tering the installers menu, press “2+5+4” and then the “Menu” Button. Use
the Channel Up/Down button to locate desired channel and press the Right
Arrow Button. You will see an “I” (Icon) placed on the Channel Indicator. By
pressing the Right Arrow Button, the “I” changes to a “1”, so you can create
seven-character length custom logos. Use the Up/down to select the desired
alphanumeric character. By pressing the Right Arrow Button, the “1”
changes to “2”. Use the Up/Down Arrows to select the desired character.
You can even create a message on a selected channel like “Welcome”.
STEP 9. CHANNEL OVERRIDE
If you want to keep your patients from directly accessing channels not in
your channel lineup you can now enter the installers menu and go to “Chan-
nel verride” (Item 28). Set this item to “0”.
Follow the directions in your cloner box to clone multiple TV’s from the “Mas-
ter” setup TV.
This Guide should get you started. See the Operators anual for more
detailed settings.
