The DigitaLinx DL-S42-H2 is a simple 4x2 HDMI 2.0 matrix switcher that features four HDMI inputs
and two HDMI outputs with HDCP 2.2 support and capable of handling resoluons up 4K@60Hz
4:4:4 / 8 bit color with stac and dynamic HDR output support. The DL-S42-H2 supports digital opcal
audio de-embedding from both outputs and analog audio de-embedding from output 1. The switcher
also supports Audio Return Channel (ARC) on output 2, the digital opcal audio on output 2 can be
congured manually to either pass the HDMI audio stream from the routed HDMI input or from the
HDMI / ARC audio stream from the connected TV. Each output port supports auto down scaling from
4K to 1080P independently.
The DL-S42-H2 can be controlled via front panel buons, IR remote, API commands using RS232 or
Ethernet. A web server / GUI is built in that features A/V switching control, automac display control
and input EDID management.

Connecvity Instrucons
1. Verify all components included with the switcher are present before installaon.
2. If the switcher is going to be permanently mounted in a rack, aach the mounng brackets of the
DL-S42-H2 matrix switcher.
3. Turn o power and disconnect the audio/video equipment by following the manufacturer’s
instrucons.
4. Connect the source devices to the HDMI inputs using HDMI cables that are less than or equal to 5
meters in length for 4k/60Hz signals. For source devices that are further away, it is highly recommended
to install an extender such as the Digitalinx DL-HD70 or DL-HD2100.
5. Connect the display devices to HDMI outputs using HDMI cables that are less than or equal to 5
meters in length for 4k/60Hz signals. For display devices that are further away, it is highly recommended
to install an extender such as the Digitalinx DL-HD70, DL-HDE100 or DL-HD2100.
6. Connect the audio outputs to an audio amplier using either the digital or analog outputs.
7. Insert the matrix power supply unit to power on the switcher.
8. Power on aached audio/video devices.
9. Route input to outputs using the matrix front panel buons, IR remote control, built in web GUI,
serial RS232 or Ethernet using telnet port 23.

Cabling Wiring Requirements
Ethernet Control
The DL-S42-H2 may be controlled via Ethernet using web browser for web server control or by using
telnet commands using port 23. See owners manual online at www.libav.com for API.
The TCP/IP port requires a standard straight-through
Category 5 or greater cable with the TIA/EIA-568B crimp
paern for opmal operaon.
The default sengs for the TCP/IP port are:

Connect the Ethernet cable between the matrix and a
router with a straight-through cable or between the matrix
and a PC computer with a crossover cable. To connect to
the web server built into the DL-S42-H2 type the default
IP address of the switcher into a browser on the PC. Be
sure the PC is in the same Network ID of the DL-S42-H2, ie
192.168.1/24.
