maintenance of this product.
- Please keep this User Manual for future consultation. If you sell the unit to another user, be sure that they also
receive this instruction booklet.
- Always make sure that you are connecting to the proper voltage and that the line voltage you are connecting to is
not higher than that stated on the sticker of the fixture.
- This product is intended for indoor use only. To prevent risk of fire or shock, do not expose fixture to rain or
moisture.
- Always disconnect from power source before servicing.
- Secure fixture to stands, trussing and the like using a safety chain.
- Maximum ambient temperature is 40˚C. Do not operate fixture at temperatures higher than this.
- In the event of serious operating problem, stop using the unit immediately. Never try to repair the unit by yourself.
Repairs carried out by unskilled people can lead to damage or malfunction. Please contact the nearest authorized

- Use a suitable clamp to attach to lighting stand, trussing or bar, together with safety chain.
- When mounting the product, do not stand directly underneath the product
- Always use a safety chain when mounting the product on stands, trussing or bars. Make sure the breaking strain
rating of the chain is at least 10 times the weight of the product.
- Make sure there is adequate ventilation around the product.
- For indoor use only – do not use outdoors.
- To avoid electrical shock, keep away from rain and moisture.
3. Features
This product is a wireless DMX transmitter and receiver. It uses the publicly available 2.4GHz GSM band to
communicate DMX signals wirelessly over a range of up to 400m line of sight. At least two units need to be used in
any one set up (or one unit in conjunction with another compatible product).
The WDMX automatically determines if it is acting as a transmitter or a receiver. They work over seven different
bands so up to 7 separate DMX systems can be run in the one area without interfering with each other.
The WDMX replaces cables between DMX controllers and fixtures as well as between fixtures if need be. With one
WDMX attached to a DMX console, multiple WDMX units can then be used as receivers for either individual lights
or blocks of lights thereby effectively eliminating the need for a DMX splitter.
Please note, that due to our ongoing commitment to constantly reviewing and improving products, features and
specifications are subject to change without prior notice.
- 3 pin XLR DMX input and output connections
- 100-240VAC, 50/60Hz.
- 2.4GHz ISM.
- 7 ID groups
- RGB LED indicator to display group
- 126 channels, automatically selected for best for communication
- Dimensions: 165x120x53 mm
- Weight: 0.5kg
4. Operation
The WDMX will automatically determine if it is acting as a transmitter or a receiver. If a DMX cable from a
console is plugged into the device’s input, then it is a transmitter. The output can still be used to continue wired
DMX communication at the same time as wireless. When there is no DMX input to the WDMX, it acts as a
receiver.
The RGB LED on the unit will indicate which band is being used – up to 7 can be used in one area without
interference. The colours red, green, yellow, blue, magenta, cyan and white are used to indicate band.
In order to view the ID of the band being used, press the ID Code Selector once. To change the band being used,

3
press again and the LED colour will change to indicate the band you are on.
If the LED is lit up constantly, there is no DMX or wireless signal. LED flashing red will mean the unit is
transmitting. LED flashing green indicates receiving.
Please note that in order for units to communicate, they must be on the same band – indicated by the solid colour of
the LED.
In order to establish communication, make sure all units within the system are on the same band. If there are
multiple separate independent DMX systems (up to 7) in the same area, please choose different bands for each. The
WDMX will choose its own clear and interference-free frequency to transmit on, while the receiver will determine
the frequency it needs to receive DMX. The flashing green light on the receiver will indicate communication has
been established.
5. DMX-512 Control Connection
The WDMX needs to connect to fixtures and DMX controllers using 3 pin XLR cable. You can connect
the product to a DMX controller and then to other fixtures with 3 pin XLR inputs and outputs. The
signal cable should have two core with shielded cable, the signal connectors are XLR input and output
connectors. Please refer to the below diagram:

4
6. WDMX Set up.
A pair of WMDX wireless DMX units effectively replace a DMX cable. In many set ups, the DMX
controller is distant from the lighting rig or set up so a wireless solution avoids the need for long DMX
cable runs from controllers to fixtures.
The DMX signal passes wirelessly from transmitter to receiver just like it would for a cable. At the
receiving point, the receiver picks up the DMX signal, and sends it to the fixture. The DMX output from
the fixture can be wired to adjoining fixtures.
But unlike wired DMX wireless DMX does not have to be daisy chained. If you chose to, you can use
any number of WMDX units acting as receivers to provide the DMX signal to lighting fixtures within
the transmitters’ range. You only have to use the DMX output of a fixture if passing DMX by wire to a
nearby fixture.

5
7. Using WDMX as a DMX Splitter.
Because the WDMX transmits DMX signals wirelessly, a number of WDMX receivers can be used to
receive the signal from the one transmitter. This is particularly useful in lighting set ups where you have
DMX controlled lighting fixtures in two completely different locations and daisy chaining via DMX
cable is difficult or not practical. Traditionally, the solution via wired DMX would be to use a DMX
splitter to send the DMX signal into 2 or more locations. But with WDMX, you eliminate the need for a
DMX splitter by being able to have the transmitter at the DMX controller with receivers in any number
of locations within the range of the transmitter.

8. Cleaning and Maintenance
From time to time it is recommended the product is cleaned to ensure best performance. Use a wet cloth
to clean the housing. Please note that alcohol based cleaners and solvents cannot be used as they will
cause damage to the product.
When used in a fixed long term installation such as a venue or club, the unit should be periodically taken
down from the installation and professionally cleaned. Dust build-up within the unit can cause damage
and ultimately failure of components.

9. Warranty
This product is warranted for 2 years from your purchase date. We are confident that this product will
give many years of trouble-free operation but should an unlikely problem arise, warranty claims must be
via the original place of purchase, together with the original purchase receipt. Please keep both your
original purchase receipt and this instruction manual together and in a safe place for future reference.
Should the product be sold within the warranty period, be sure to pass on both to the new purchaser so
they are able to claim warranty should they need to. We recommend you register your warranty online at
