REDLINE® C 300 cylinder regulators02
• Do not handle the regulator with a tool but by
hand only.
• Do not lubricate the equipment or its
accessories (risk of explosion).
• Open the cylinder valve slowly (adiabatic
compression, pressure shock).
• Do not smoke near the pressure regulator (risk
of explosion).
• Do not heat the pressure regulator or bring
a naked flame near it (risk of explosion,
deterioration of the equipment).
• Never supply the pressure regulator with a
reverse flow (i.e. through the outlet): this
could contaminate or damage the equipment.
• Only use equipment which is in perfect
condition.
• Never move a cylinder on which a regulator is
installed, other than on a trolley.
• Keep this equipment perfectly clean. The
introduction of particles during handling is the
cause of most failures.
• Ensure that the vent holes and the relief valve
are never blocked.
1. General safety requirements
1.1 General
All users must comply fully with all national or
local laws, rules or regulations in force. Anyone
using this product must be thoroughly familiar

2. Description
2.1 General
These are single and two stage high-pressure
metal diaphragm pressure regulators. They enable
gas to be reduced to a constant and adjustable
pressure of between 0.3 and 50 bar (single-stage)
and 0.1–35 bar (two-stage), depending on the
model concerned. The chromium plated brass
version is intended for use with pure and mixed
gases, except for corrosive gases, acetylene
and carbon monoxide (CO). The stainless steel
version is intended for use with high purity
gases (except for high pressure oxygen with
35 and 50 bar outlet pressure regulators) and
for mildly corrosive gases (except for hydrogen
chloride or chlorine). This product is for use
with specialty gases and not intended for any
other installation or purpose. If the product
user has any questions regarding this product’s
proper application or purpose, the product
user should call +49.89.7446-1661. Any non-
approved use or application and/or any non-
approved modification of the product or its use
or application may result in serious accident or
personal injury. Linde is not responsible for any
non-approved use or application.

4.3 Installation of the pressure regulator
• Ensure your hands are clean before installing
or handling the pressure regulator.
• Install the outlet union.
• Connect the pressure regulator to the
utilisation system.
• Unscrew the hand wheel of the pressure
regulator and check that the downstream
system is closed.
• Slowly open the shut-off valve. Check the
pressure on the supply pressure indicator.
• Slowly screw in the hand wheel of the
pressure regulator until a flow is obtained.
• Check the sealing of the complete assembly,
particularly the adapters. CAUTION: Never
attempt to tighten a union which is under fluid
pressure.
• Close the supply valve. Bleed the unit.
Unscrew the hand wheel of the pressure
regulator.
4.4 Use of the pressure regulator
• Check that the hand wheel of the pressure
regulator is unscrewed.
• Slowly open the shut-off valve. Check the
pressure on the supply pressure indicator.
• Screw the hand wheel of the pressure
regulator until the required pressure is
obtained - check that gas issues from the unit.
• After use, close the supply valve, wait until
gas no longer issues from the unit and then
unscrew the hand wheel of the pressure
regulator.
4. Installation instructions and handling
4.1 Transport, storage and handling
• Transport, storage and handling operations
must be carried out by qualified personnel,
using appropriate facilities.
• These pressure regulators must be transported
and stored in their original packaging; any
deterioration of the packaging can affect the
operation or the safety of the product.
• These pressure regulators must be stored in a
room protected from dust and humidity, at a
temperature of between –40 and +70 °C; do
not subject the unprotected pressure regulator
to harsh weather conditions.
• Never transport the cylinder carrying it by the
valve or by the pressure regulator assembly.
• Always remove the pressure regulator from the
cylinder for transport, when not in use.
• Keep them out of the reach of children.
• 4.2 Routine checks
• The pressure regulators must not be subjected
to any violent shocks: a damaged pressure
regulator must not be used. In such cases,
have the unit overhauled or replaced.
• Only use equipment which is in perfect
conditions, and ensure that it is compatible
with the type of fluid used (gas or liquid), and
with the required pressures and flow-rates.
• Observe the cleanness of the unit during
handling (no dust, water or grease, etc.), and
of the accessories to which it is connected.
• The pressure regulator is designed to be
associated with other accessories. The
assembly of such accessories onto the pressure
regulator shall be carried out by qualified
personnel.

In the case of an incident or complaint, the user
must return the products that are assumed to
be defective, appropriately packed. In order to
benefit from the warranty, the user must not carry
out any work (disassembly, repair, modification,
etc) on the equipment without prior written
authorisation from Linde.
Failure to follow the installation instructions and
handling instructions may result in accident or
personal injury, for which Linde declines any
responsibility.
5.2 Cleanness
This product must be kept clean. To do so:
• Regularly clean the outside of the pressure
regulator with cotton wool and alcohol (any
other cleaning process is prohibited).
• The lenses of the pressure gauges could show
incompatibility with isopropyl alcohol. For
cleaning, use ethyl alcohol (ethanol).
• The inside of the pressure regulator must
not be cleaned (this is a factory operation).
However, it is recommended to bleed the
pressure regulator with an inert gas before
start up or after a long period of storage.
5. Maintenance
5.1 General
This warranty does not cover the following:
• Repair or replacement due to normal wear or
damage during routine maintenance.
• Damage to components whose fragility is
determined by product design.
• Damage from not following recommended
maintenance and procedures, as outlined in
this instruction manual.
• Damage arising from modifications not
included in the procedures in this instruction
manual.
• Damage resulting from the use of unauthorised
parts, supplied, manufactured or modified by
procedures not included in this instruction
manual.
Maintenance, repairs and/or reconditioning
of these industrial cylinder valves are the
responsibility of the user or the operator and
shall only be performed by properly trained
personnel. Anyone attempting to maintain, repair
or recondition this product must be thoroughly
familiar with compressed gas association E-4,
and all other standards and regulations referred
to therein.

5.3 Checks
Whenever a cylinder is changed:
• Check that the pressure regulator shows no
visible signs of damage.
• Clean the pressure regulator using the
procedure described above.
• After each installation operation, make sure
that the functions of the pressure regulator
operate correctly.
5.4 Repair
All repairs of the pressure regulator must be
carried out by Linde, in order to guarantee the
safety and performance of the unit.
5.5 Servicing
Although these devices are very robust, they do
require periodic inspection. This work requires
a certain number of precautions to be taken,
and must be carried out by Linde. The frequency
of this inspection depends essentially on the
manner in which the device is used (intensive,
normal or occasional use); it must be agreed by
Linde and the customer. It shall on no account
exceed 5 years.
6. General conditions
The information provided in our catalogues is not
binding for Linde, who reserves the right to make
any modifications.
