Surface Mounting Your Littlite Lampset
All L-series Littlite lampsets are designed to be surface mounted without any additional
accessories required. The lampset can be mounted from the top or underside of the mounting
surface.
MOUNTING FROM THE TOP OF THE MOUNTING SURFACE.
Remo e the Chassis Plate Screws {C} from the top of the lampset (Figure 1).

On a standard Littlite lampset this will enable the chassis plate {A} to be remo ed from the
chassis assembly (Figure 2}.

Once the chassis plate {A} is remo ed position it on the mounting surface and secure it to the
surface ia the two screw holes {E} on the plate. (Figure 3).

Reattach the chassis and install the chassis plate screws {C}.
MOUNTING FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE SURFACE
Turn o er your Littlite lampset and locate the two threaded posts {B} on the bottom of the
chassis plate {A}. (Figure 4)

Mark the location of the threaded posts on the mounting surface.
Drill two holes in the mounting surface large enough to accommodate the supplied machine
screws {H}.
From beneath the mounting surface, insert the machine screws {H}, split washers {G} and flat
washers {F} through the holes (Figure 5) and into the threaded posts {B}. Tighten the machine
screws {H} to secure the lampset to the surface.

Directions for surface mounting L-5 and L-9 automoti e series Littlite are identical to the standard
lampsets except for the location of the cord set {D} (Figure 6)

Because the cord set {D} is routed through the bottom of the chassis plate {A} a hole is required
in the mounting surface to accept the cord set and strain relief.
When remo ing the chassis plate {A} for top mounting purposes, the cord set will pre ent the
chassis plate from being remo ed from the lampset (Figure 7).

Gently compress the stress relief with a pair of pliers and carefully pull it out of the hole and pull
the cord set {D} through the hole. The chassis plate {A} will now be free to position on the
mounting surface.
Mark the mounting surface for screw holes {E} and access hole for the cord set {D}.
Drill hole for cord set.
Pull the cord set {D} through the hole in the chassis plate, install the stress relief on the cord set
by gently compressing the stress relief as you push it back into the hole in the chassis plate.
Pull cord set through access hole and secure chassis plate to mounting surface ia two screw
holes {E}.
Reattach the chassis and install the chassis plate screws {C}.
