Overview

carvy
®
What is “beauty”? Striking, elegant, artistic, powerful, delicate and inspiring. These are
definitions we use to describe a luxury car of highest performance. Today, a brand with
advanced thinking uses the definition of "beauty" to build the most delicate electric
scooter in history and will change the world of e-mobility forever: “LONGWAY e-
mobility”.
All important technical acquisitions are inspired by mother nature, brought to
perfection during millions of years of evolution.
The original LONGWAY CARVY conception is inspired by the Cheetah:
- small physique
- light weight
- agile
- fast speed
- powerful
- tenacious
We succeeded to combine all of these attributes into one special, innovative, gold
awarded electrical scooter: The
carvy
®
What means “CARVY”?
It describes its unique, patented technical feature that allows a “carving” movement
while riding it. The frame is not rigid like on every other scooter, it has a special swivel,
to have the rear wheels independent from the front wheel. Smooth and Intuitively you
will lean into each curve and notice the agility of the CARVY. It feels like surfing the
street.
The carving system guarantees that the wheels will always have full grip on the street
for maximum safety.

page 6
Why 3 wheels?
Being Innovative means to stand out in a crowd. The CARVY® is a perfect example what
means to have USP.
To make the big difference to all regular, 2- wheel scooters we focused on combining the
greatest riding experience, comfort, safety and the best possible, user-friendly handling
together in one scooter. The only logic result was a 3-wheeled concept.
1. No kickstand required
- The CARVY® stands more stable on its own 3 wheels than any 2-wheel scooter,
equipped with a kick stand.
- It will not fall to any side even when standing on inclined undergrounds
- it stands stable on wet grass or any other soft surface (all kickstands will fail here)
- No damages due to falling to any side as this wont happen
- No need to lean the scooter against a wall or other items
- No maintenance or replacement costs for repairs due to above mentioned issues
2. Step on and go!
- Switch the power button “ON”, step on the deck and start rolling in a second.
- Step off and leave!Yyou will never need to search a stable underground to unfold a
kickstand or a wall to lean the scooter against.
3. Upright position with parallel feet
- The extra wide deck is designed to stand in a relaxed, natural, upright position with the
feet parallel instead of one foot after another. The natural position is gentle and
comfortable for the whole body.
4. lowest possible center of gravity (protection of the battery)
- the CARVY® has the lowest possible deck position to have the most comfortable ride
and a perfect balance. This detail is very important for a safe handling and the users
confidence in the scooter. We achieved this detail by mounting the battery in the rear
part of the scooter instead of underneath the deck. A positive effect is that the battery
is safe for being hit by objects.
5. Safety!
- as one of the most important details, 3 wheels always offer more grip than 2 wheels.
- The 3 wheels build a triangle, the strongest possible geometric form.- the CARVY® cant
slip out on slippery or wet underground when riding through curves. The users weight
and motional stresses are distributed over the 3 wheels.

General safety advice
Riding an e-scooter can be dangerous. Always take care and ride it in a responsible manner!
Be careful when riding your CARVY for the first time, choose a quiet path and learn to get used to the
scooter.
Always be alert to potential dangers while driving.
The CARVY can only be used by one person at a time (don’t ride it with 2 people at once!).
The CARVY is not suited for races, nor should it be used for acrobatics or rough use.
It is not suited for kids under 15 years of age.
The CARVY must be kept out of children´s reach. It is not a toy!
Maximum load: 100 kg.
For your own safety, make sure you wear suitable protective clothing. Never go without elbow
protection and knee protection, as well as a helmet.
The CARVY can climb hills with a gradient of 10%.
It is forbidden to attach a child's seat to the CARVY.
Short downhill distances with up to 10% gradient can be managed easily. Longer downhill distances or
steeper terrain are forbidden to ride as this may cause a brake failure.
If the brake should begin to squeak or smoke (while going downhill), you must stop using the CARVY
immediately to cool it down, in order to avoid the risk of a brake failure. The brake should be tested
again once the CARVY cooled down. If it is not working correctly, stop using the CARVY and get the
brakes checked by a specialized mechanic.

page 8
Towing loads of any kind (e.g. trailers) is forbidden.
Do not attach any bags to the handlebars as this can have a significant impact on the steering.
Before using the CARVY, always check that all cables, handles, switches are in perfect condition.
Check if all screws are well tightened, check if the wheels have enough air and check all visible parts
for defects or damages.
Do not use the CARVY if there are any signs of damage. If you find any damage, please take your
CARVY to a specialized mechanic.
Do not dismantle any fittings, covers, electronic parts or other components on the CARVY, and only
use original parts for replacement or repairs.
Check the brakes before every use and make sure that they are working (make a brake test before each
use!). The front wheel brakes must be working smooth and not too abrupt. If the front brake is adjusted
too tight, it could cause the front wheel to block, which could lead to an accident.
If the brakes are not working properly, please take the CARVY to the closest specialized mechanic. Do
NOT do repairs yourself.
Doing repairs by yourself will expire the given warranty of the whole scooter and claims won´t be
accepted by our company.
Only use the motor and the CARVY when it has been unfolded and secured (make sure that the folding
system is locked properly and the quick release of the handle bars´ height adjustment is closed
strongly.).
When parking the CARVY, always switch it off and ensure that it cannot roll away.
Always make sure to hold the handlebars with both hands when starting to roll, moving and
accelerating.
Avoid to hit the brakes abruptly as it could result to block the front wheel (danger of falling
during full speed).
Do not accelerate to full speed when driving curves (danger of falling!).
When you accelerate, lean slightly forwards to avoid the acceleration throwing you backwards, which
could cause the front wheel of the CARVY to lift off the ground.
When transporting the CARVY in the car, make sure that it is stowed safely.
As with all vehicles, riding is more dangerous on wet, icy, snowy, dirty and uneven surfaces. Always
adapt your riding behavior to the conditions (traffic conditions, bad weather, visibility).
For the best visibility and your own safety always switch on the lights (front and rear LED).
The CARVY should not be used for riding over curbstones, steps, obstacles (stones, thresholds, etc.),
potholes, through mud or off-road.
If the CARVY is not working properly, or making unusual noises (such as squeaking, grating, rattling,
etc.), get off immediately, switch the CARVY off, look for the cause of the problem or contact your
closest CARVY specialist, dealer or mechanic.
There is a danger of items or fingers getting pinched between the moving parts of the folding system,
particularly when the steering column is being folded up and down.
Parts close to the motor can remain hot after use (danger of burning).
The brakes and brake drums can become hot after use, specially after a downhill stretch. Do not touch
them, due to the risk of getting burnt.
The CARVY (and battery) should be stored in a suitable place (free from damp and heat). The battery
should not be exposed to direct sunlight.

roll away.
Take all usual precautions required when dealing with electricity.
Never touch, short circuit or submerge electronic parts, and never spray water underneath the rear
wheel casing.
Always charge the battery under supervision and do not leave the charger plugged in any longer than
necessary once the battery is fully charged.
Begin by plugging the mini-plug of the charger into the socket on the CARVY.
Then plug the mains plug of the charger into the power socket. The charging LED lights up on the
mains adapter while the charging is in progress.
Once the CARVY has finished charging (the charging LED lights up green), pull out the mains plug,
remove the mini-plug from the CARVER. Always make sure that the mini-plug is pulled out before
riding off, to avoid any damage.
Store and use the mains adapter inside, in a dry place and at room temperature.

Safety advice for the lithium-ion battery
Do not store the CARVY exposed to direct sunlight in the car.
Do not park your CARVY exposed strong sunshine.
Keep your CARVY away from any kind of heat source, such as radiators, flames, sparks, etc.
Only use the original supplied charger with your CARVY, or an original replacement charger.
If you didn’t use your CARVY for more than 30 days, check the battery charge level.
If you are not going to use the CARVY for a longer time, make sure that the battery is charged at least
with 50% to 70%. Storing the CARVY for longer time with an empty battery can reduce the lifetime of
the battery.
Always seal the charging/discharging socket with the rubber cap to avoid it getting wet or dirty.
Make sure that the rubber cap is plugged in firmly.

Usage instructions of the CARVY
The CARVY is equipped with a powerful e-motor and provides a unique and exciting riding experience. We
recommend that you take care when using the CARVY for the first time, so that you can smoothly learn to
get used to it.
The CARVY e-scooter can reach a maximum speed of 20 km/h. It is important that you use this high-
performance e-scooter responsibly, so that you can enjoy it without any accidents.
The CARVY should be used on private ground without traffic to start learning to use it. Firstly like a kick
scooter with the motor switched off to become familiar with the movement.
Then start using the motor on speed level 1, to get a feeling of the specific CARVY performance.
Once you enjoyed a few successful rides on your CARVY, you can switch up to speed level 2 for more
acceleration and higher speed.
Speed level 3 (strong acceleration and high-speed) should only be used by experienced riders and only
when conditions allow it (dry weather, flat surface, perfect visibility).
Road traffic and license regulations
The use of e-scooters is subject to the national and regional road traffic and license regulations, as well as
special regulations for cyclists.
In countries like Austria, CARVY e-scooters can be used on public roads and cycle paths like a bicycle, as
long as they match with regulations for bicycles and electric bikes (up to 600 watt and 25 km/h). This
differs from country to country, and the specific national licensing regulations must be observed.
Restrictions of use
The CARVY is designed to transport one person with a total maximum weight of 100 kg.
Persons below 15 years of age are not allowed to use the CARVY. Young persons up to the age of 15 are only
allowed to use the CARVY in the presence and under the responsibility of their parents, guardians or
authorized adults, and only on paths without traffic. Young persons up to the age of 15 are not allowed to
exceed speed level 1.
The CARVY can only be used by people who are physically and mentally fit. People who are not able to
drive the e-scooter correctly (due to alcohol, intoxication, exhaustion, excitement, stress, physical
disabilities, etc.), or people who do not know the street and traffic rules, are forbidden to use the CARVY.
For your own safety, make sure you wear suitable protective clothing. Never go without elbow
protection and knee protection, as well as a helmet.
Always adapt your riding behavior to the conditions (traffic conditions, bad weather, visibility).

Delivery conditions
The CARVY comes pre-assembled, almost ready to use, folded in a carton box.
To optimize space, the top handlebar of the CARVY e-scooter comes disassembled and needs to be
mounted using the Allen key that is in the package. After unpacking the CARVY, the handlebars need to
be inserted into the stem (up to the handlebar nuts) and fixed with the enclosed screws to a tightness of
11.2Nm using the provided Allen key.
If the CARVY has been delivered folded, please read the section on "Unfolding the CARVY” (page 9) of the
manual.
The CARVY is usually set at speed level 1 for delivery, which is ideal for beginners.
To prepare the CARVY for use, please refer to the section, "Getting ready for the first use".

page 14
Power controls

page 15
Getting ready for the first use
Before use, check all cables, handles, switches, screws (tightness), wheels (enough air) and all visible parts
for defects or damages
Checking the brakes
The brakes should be checked to make sure that they are working properly every time before the CARVY
is being used.
The front and rear brakes should be balanced mutually. The front brake should not be adjusted too
strongly to avoid the front wheel to block while braking with the result to fall. The strength of the brakes
can be adjusted by turning the adjustment screw on the brake lever. Screwing it outwards makes the
brake stronger, while screwing it inside makes the brake smoother.
When the brake lever is pulled tightly, the front wheel should not allow to move the CARVY by pushing it.
The front wheel should only turn slowly when pushing the scooter with force. This setting prevents the
rider from falling or tipping forwards when pulling the brake lever to the maximum while riding. Once the
brake has been adjusted, fix the adjustment screw in their new position with the locking nut. Before,
during or after riding on a wet path, you need to test the brakes because these can have a delayed or
reduced effect on wet underground.
Checking the tires
Increase the pressure in the tires, if required. The pressure of the tires should always be at 2.5 bar (37 PSI).
Only use the CARVY when it has been completely unfolded and secured. Check that the folding system is
properly closed and locked.
Charging the battery
When the CARVY is delivered, the battery is charged to approx. 50–70%. Before using your CARVY for the
first time, the battery must be charged fully using the enclosed charger. Only use the original charger!
This takes approx. 2 hours.
Make sure that the CARVY's power controls are switched off. The controller is switched OFF when the
display is visibly not lightening. The CARVY is switched on and off with the main power switch (#4 in the
power controls overview, page 14) .
To charge the CARVY, remove the protective rubber cap, insert the round plug of the charger into the
charging socket at the back of the CARVY. Then plug the mains plug into a standard 220-240 volt AC
socket.

page 16
A red lamp will light up on the charger. When the light changes to green, the battery is fully charged. The
charger can now be unplugged from the mains and then unplugged from the socket on the CARVY.
Only use the charger in a clean, ventilated, dry room and do not leave the battery connected once it is fully
charged. Never store your e-scooter while the charger is still connected. Never interfere with, open or alter
the CARVY electronics, the battery, the charger or the plug on the charger. The battery can lose capacity
much quicker in winter and in cold temperatures. Changing the battery and other CARVY parts, including
general repairs, must only be done by a special CARVY service workshop. Do not use chargers, cables or
plugs any more if they have been damaged. Never get the charger, cable or plug wet and do not touch with
wet hands. Always remove the plug by pulling on the plug, not on the cable. Batteries and electronic
equipment should not be disposed with the usual household waste. Please only use the authorized
disposal services.
Before the trip
If your CARVY is folded, please read the section, "Unfolding the steering column" on page 9.
Once the CARVY has been unfolded and charged, your CARVY is ready to ride and can be switched on
using the ON/OFF button on the power control. The CARVY is automatically set at speed level 1 when
switched ON.
If the parking brake is activated it needs to be released by moving the brake lever. Place one foot on the
deck, push the scooter (like a kick scooter) to start rolling and then press the accelerator lever down
gently using your right thumb. The CARVY will start accelerating. Once moving, place your second foot,
parallel to the other foot on the deck. Always hold the handlebars with both hands. Avoid steering too
abruptly into different directions to avoid the danger of accidents.
To reduce speed you can just reduce the pressure on the accelerator lever. To slow down please release
the accelerator and pull the brakes. Do not brake too hard, as this may cause the wheels to block.
The tire pressure should be checked every time before the CARVY is used.
Three speed levels
The CARVY is equipped with a choice of three speed and acceleration. Level 1 is usually pre-programmed
when the CARVY is switched on, allowing enough acceleration to reach a speed of 6 km/h. This is the
recommended level for beginners and for use in crowded areas to avoid collisions with pedestrians.
Once you have ridden your CARVY several times successfully and got used to how your e-scooter behaves,
you can progress on to level 2 and 3. The speed setting are chosen before starring to roll by pressing the
button of the controller. Be noted that each speed level will allow to drive faster and it offers a higher
acceleration in each higher level.
Use the available speed levels carefully to reduce the risk of skidding or falling. Be very careful with the
3rd speed level. When using the 3rd speed level You must lean forward on the scooter to maintain the right
balance and avoid that the front wheel will lift off the ground due to the stronger acceleration!

page 17
Parking locking function
The CARVY can be secured with the brake lever to avoid that it will roll on skew or sloping surfaces when
it is switched off. By pulling the brake lever and securing it with the additional switch, the front brake will
be locked and keep the scooter on its place.
Before going for a ride please make sure that you always release the locking of the front brake.
Unlocked: Locked:
Lights
The rear LED light is always switched on automatically when the CARVY is in use.
The front power LED light must be switched on with the additional ON/OFF switch when the weather
conditions offer bad visibility or it is getting dark. We recommend to switch on the lights always.
Adjusting the height of the handlebars
The height of the handlebars can be adjusted to the users demand.
Just open the upper quick release to pull the handle bar to the desired height and secure it by closing the
quick release again.
NOTE: For folding the scooter and to attach the handle bar to the rear clamp it is required to set the height
of the handle bar to the printed “folding position” mark on the handle bar.
Press!

page 18
Cleaning the CARVY
The CARVY can be cleaned with suitable cleaning agents and care products, using a soft cloth
or sponge. Never use solvents on the CARVY. Do not use water directly onto the CARVY and do
not use a high-pressure cleaner. Always wipe dirt off the body by using clean water and dry it
with a leather cloth. Never spray liquids underneath the rear wheel spat.
Important advice when using a lithium-ion battery
Charging
Charge the batteries at a temperature between 0°C and 45°C.
If you notice a fault or anything unusual that arises during charging (e.g. deformation of the
battery, blown cells, overheating), stop the charging procedure immediately. Unplug the
charger when you have finished charging the CARVY.
Charging should take place in a dry, well-aerated room (do not charge it outside!). Make sure
that there are no flammable substances within a reach of 150 cm to the charger when the
CARVY is being charged. Do not charge the battery near to flammable or other hazardous
substances. When charging the battery, make sure that the battery and charger are out of the
reach of children.
Discharging / Usage
Use at a temperature between 0°C and 45°C.
Avoid the battery discharging too much. Repeatedly running down the battery to the minimum
can reduce battery capacity.
Do not charge the battery with a higher current than the manufacturer recommends, as this
will reduce the life of the battery.
We recommend assisting the CARVY with your foot on steep hills to prevent the battery and
motor from overheating.

page 19
Storage
The CARVY should be stored at a temperature between 0°C and 30°C, and at a level of humidity
lower than 75%RH.
The battery should be stored in a clean, dust-free, dry and aerated room.
Do not touch the corrosive liquid contained in the battery and keep the battery away from heat
and flames.
The battery should be stored at a loading capacity of 50% to 70% and the charge in the battery
should be checked every 30 days. The CARVY should be switched off when stored.
