Thank you for purchasing a LORENTZ pump!
In order to ensure the longevity of your pump:
Only connect equipment that was provided by the
manufacturer or supplier to this pump.
Do not try to power the pump from batteries, gen-
erators or a grid connection.
Keep the controller out of water or direct rain. This
reduces the chances of a short circuit of cable con-
nections.
Do not disconnect the cables when the pump is
running. First turn o the pump, then disconnect
the cables.
Do not let the pump run dry.
Pump water that is free from solid objects like sand,
sticks or weed.
Only use appropriate cable extensions. LORENTZ
provides water-resistant extension cables for motor
and accessories. MC4 connectors can be used to
extend the PV input cable.

Position the controller out of direct sunshine.
This will reduce the chances of the controller
switching o from overheating.
Note: The pump is not equipped with a non-re-
turn valve which may be required for certain
applications.
Getting started
Setting up your pump
Connect a hose or pipe to the pump outlet.
Fix the controller properly on a wall or the back-
side of a PV module.
Connect the motor cables.
Connect either accessories or jumpers to A1 and
A2. Input A1 has a 15 min delay in the case dry
run is detected.
Connect the solar (PV) cable last.
Position the PV modules facing the sun, avoid
shading.

Pumping Water
Operation
Ensure the pump is fully submerged in water.
Switch on the pump.
The system will run.
LEDs (lights) on the controller tell you:
The pump is running. To turn o the pump,
use the switch.
The pump is turned o. To start the pump,
use the switch.
An accessory has stopped the pump.
Check the oat switch / dry run sensor.
An error has occurred. Disconnect and recon-
nect your pump, check for enough solar power
input.
This indicates a ashing LED.
This indicates a permanent LED.

Troubleshooting
Common reasons for the pump to stop unex-
pectedly, not to start or too little water:
Solar modules
• There is not enough irradiation.
• The PV modules are dirty, shaded or not
facing towards the sun.
Controller/wiring
• The red light is permanently on because
input A1 or A2 has been triggered. The red
light may indicate dry run (related to input
A1) in which case it will restart after 15 min.
The issue could also be related to accesso-
ries or missing jumper cables.
• The plugs are wet or have not been inserted
properly.
• The controller is too hot and needs to cool
down.
Pump/hose
• There is not enough water available, the
pump is running dry.
• The pump is clogged with mud or sand.
• The hose or pipe is blocked, twisted or
kinked.
• The water temperature is too high.

• The pump was laying in the sun and is too
hot.
Water
• The water contains solid objects like sand,
sticks or weed.
• If the water temperature is too high, the
pump will stop or not start.
• If the water temperature is too low, the ow
is reduced.

Pour assurer la longévité de votre pompe:
Ne connectez que les équipements fournis par le
fabricant ou le fournisseur à cette pompe.
N’essayez pas d’alimenter la pompe à partir de
batteries, de générateurs ou d’une connexion ré-
seau.
Maintenez le contrôleur à l’abri de l’eau ou de la pluie
directe, cela réduit les risques de court-circuit des
connexions des câbles.
Ne débranchez pas les câbles lorsque la pompe est
en marche. Commencez par éteindre la pompe, puis
débranchez les câbles.
Ne laissez pas la pompe fonctionner à sec.
Pompez de l’eau qui ne contient pas d’objets solides
tels que du sable, des bâtons ou des mauvaises
herbes.
Utilisez uniquement des rallonges de câble appro-
priées. LORENTZ fournit des rallonges résistantes
à l’eau pour le moteur et les accessoires. Les con-
necteurs MC4 peuvent être utilisés pour rallonger le

câble d’entrée PV.
Placez le contrôleur à l’abri du soleil. Cela réduira
les risques d’arrêt du contrôleur en cas de sur-
chaue.
Notez: La pompe n’est pas équipée d’un clapet
anti-retour, qui peut être nécessaire pour certaines
applications.
Premiers pas
Mise en place de votre pompe
Connectez un tuyau ou un conduit à la sortie de la
pompe.
Fixez correctement le contrôleur sur un mur ou à
l’arrière d’un module PV.
Connectez les câbles du moteur.
Connectez des accessoires ou des ponts à A1 et
A2. L’entrée A1 a un délai de 15 minutes en cas de
détection d’une marche à sec.
Connectez le câble solaire (PV) en dernier.
Placez les modules photovoltaïques face au soleil,
évitez les ombres.
