Youraimerhasover25yearsofengineeringrefinementbuilt-in.Itisdesignedtomeetthe
followingrequirements:

andJ600(Feb1993).

Theaimingisperformedbasedonanimageoftheheadlightbeamrecreatedinsidethe

ThismanualiswrittenbasedontherequirementsoftheSAEJ599standardforheadlight
aim.IndividualstateinspectionrequirementsvaryandsomestatesdonotusetheSAE

compliantwiththeStandardSAEJ599(revisedAug.1997).Thebeamprojectionsappear
ontheinternalscreenoftheaimerastheywouldappearonascreenlocated25feetfrom
theheadlamps.
TheaimingscreencomplieswithallaimingandinspectionrequirementsoftheStandards
SAEJ599(revisedAugust1997)andSAEJ600(revisedFebruary1993).
Withthelinesdrawnontheinternalscreenoftheaimer,allaimingandtestingprocedures
canbeperformed.

BEAMELUCIDATIONFILTERS
Duetothewidelyvaryinglightandofautomotiveheadlights,and
differentoperatorssensitivitytolight,itisdifficulttolocatethelightbeampatternwhen
adjustingheadlightsonsomevehicles.LujanUSAhasdevelopedabeamelucidation
filtertomakeiteasiertoviewthesebeampatterns.Thefiltersaredesignedtoremove
someoftheextraneouslightfromtheviewablepatternandenhancethehighintensity
zone,providinganimagethatisclearerandeasiertosee.
Tousethefilter,simplysetitontopoftheaimerbodyabovetheviewingwindow.The
magneticstripswillholditinplac e.Forbestoperation,themagneticstripsshouldbe
towardthefrontandrearoftheaimer.
Thefilterscanbestoredbyusingthemagneticstripstoattachthemanyplaceonthe
metalaimerhead.

filtertomakeiteasiertoviewthesebeampatterns.Thefiltersaredesignedtoremove
someoftheextraneouslightfromtheviewablepatternandenhancethehighintensity
zone,providinganimagethatisclearerandeasiertosee.
Tousethefilter,simplysetitontopoftheaimerbodyabovetheviewingwindow.The
magneticstripswillholditinplac e.Forbestoperation,themagneticstripsshouldbe
towardthefrontandrearoftheaimer.
