•Thank you for choosing this product. This manual
will guideyoufor the proper operation of your set-
top-box.
•Beforeoperating the set-top-box, please readthis
manual thoroughly.Please do keepthis manual
in asafe place for futurereferences. Read the
correspondinginstructions of this handbook prior to
the rst usageofthe device,evenwhen the usage
of electronic devices is familiar to you.

SafetyPrecautions
Power
•Always use the provided ACadaptor.
•Operateonlyfrom the powersource speci ed on
the ACadaptor.
•The power adaptor may become hotduring normal
operation.Thisisnotamalfunction.
•Please make surethatthe adaptorisnotcovered
whileinoperation.Leave aspaceof15 cm
(minimum) around the ACadaptor.
•The rating information and safetycaution ofthe AC
adaptorare provided on the adaptor.
WARNING:When the setisnotinuse foralong time,
disconnectfrom the power.
Power Cord
•Donotplacethe unit, apieceoffurniture,etc.,on the
power cord (mains lead),orpinch the cord.Handle
the power cordbythe plug.Donotpulloutthe plug
by tugging thecord and never touch the power cord
when yourhands are wetas thiscouldcause a
shortcircuitor electricshock.Nevermake aknotin
the cord or tieitwithother cords.The power cords
shouldbe routed insuch away thatthey are not
likelytobe stepped on.Adamaged power cord can
cause re or give you an electricalshock.Check
the power cord once inawhile.When you nd it
damaged,ask closestservice agentfor help.When
the ACpower cordneeds tobe changed,itshould
be done ataquali ed service shop only.
•Pleasedo notplace the setinaplace subjecttodirect
sun light,excessive dustor mechanicalshock or in
alocation nearheatsources.
•Thesetshouldbe placed on asolidandsafe
base.
•Donotplace the apparatus on asoftsurface such
as arug thatmightblock the ventilation holes on
the bottom.
•Alocation shouldnotbe selected such as aroom

the kitchen for example, may cause malfunction or
damage the set.

may cause malfunction or damage the set.
•Thehotair,whicharisesduringthe operation,
shouldbe ventilated withsuf cientaircirculation.
Please do notputthe setintoclosed areas and do
notcover it.
•Pleaseavoidthe contactofthe setwithwater
orhumidity.Donotputintooperation nearbath,
swimming pools.
•Takecaretoprovideagoodaircirculation.Placethe
apparatus inalocationwithadequateventilation to

FrontPanel
Rear Panel
1. USB INPUT (for service use only)
2. ANTENNAIN : You can connect antenna to aerial input of the box.
3. ANTENNAOUT : You can use aerial antenna out to connect aerial to yourTV.
4.OPTICALAUDIO : You can use this connector to output the digital audio toan external
device. Seeyour audio system instruction book for further information.
5. TV SCART : If your TV has ascart connector,you can connect the box to your TV using a
scart cable.
6. POWER SUPPLY: DC IN (12V) power connection.
Make sure that you connect all cables and connections before you plug the unit into the mains
supply.After youconnect theunit to themains supply,the LEDlight located on the front panel
will be red (Standby mode).

InsertingBatteriesintheRemoteControl
•Remove the battery cover located on the back ofthe remotecontrolby gently
pulling backwards from the indicated part.
•InserttwoAAA/R3(2 X1.5Volt)orequivalenttype batteries inside.Place the
batteries inthe rightdirections observing the polaritysymbols(+/-) and replace
the battery cover.
•Whileusing the remotecontrol,you shoulddirectittowards the frontpanelof
the receiver.Remoterange isapproximately7m/23ft.
•Ifyour receiver nolonger responds tothe remotecontrol.itisprobablethatthe
batteries areexhausted.Ifso you can still use the localbuttons ofthe receiver.
You can replace batteries after they are exhausted.Please use onlythe leak
proofbatteries.
Note:Remove the batteries from theremotecontrolwhen itisnot to be used for along period.
Otherwise itcan be damaged due toany leakage ofbatteries.
Connecting theSet-Top Boxto aTV Set
You can connectthe settop box toyour TVby using the scartsocket.Use ascartcabletoconnectthe set-
top-box toyour TV.
The set-top box gives RGBorCVBSoutput.Ifyou want togetthepictureviascartconnector and your TV’s
scartconnector has an RGBinput,then you can switch yourdigitalset-top box toRGBmode,by toggling TV
outmenu toRGBmode,incon guration menu.So,you willbe abletoachieve highperformance fromyour
digitalset-top box.

Power Connection
IMPORTANT:Theset-top boxisdesignedtooperateon12VDC. For this,anadaptoris used
which supplies a12V DC voltage. Connect this adaptor to amainssocket that supplies
220-240VAC,50Hz.
•Afterunpacking,allowthe set-top box toreach the ambientroomtemperature before you plug intothe
mains for the rst time.
AntennaConnection
Thisillustration showshowtoconnectan antenna.
•Use ANTENNAIN toconnecttoan antenna system.
•You can also use TVOUT toconnectantenna toyourTVthrough the set-top-box withan appropriate
antenna cable,

Power On-Off
Connectallcablesbeforepluggingintothe mains. After plugging inthe mainscord oftheset-top-box tothe mains
supply,alightwillbeseenon the frontpanel(Standby mode).When theset-top-box is rst poweredup please
waituntil the boxisinitializedbefore activating thereceiver sincebooting ofsoftware will take some time. Make
surethatallcableconnectionsare inplace.Plugthe mains. Please waituntil unit isinitialized.Thismay take
almost aminute.
Thisproductconforms the latestEuropeanUnionPowerConsumptionRegulationsandfeatures lowpowerstandby
mode.Productenters intothe lowpowerstandbymode approximately2-3minuteslater after youpress standby
button toturn offthe unit.Untillowpowermode isactivated,clockwill be displayed atthe display.When thelow
power mode isactivated,display willbeshutdown.When you press standbybutton duringlowpower mode,itmay
take aminuteuntil product isinitialised.However if you pressstandbybuttonbefore lowpower modeisactivated
unit willbe initialized inacoupleofseconds (Active standby mode).Althoughitisnotrecommended for enviromental
reasons, you may disablelow power mode inyour productat setup –con gurationmenu.
AutoPower Down:
Thisboxwill automaticallyswitchedfrom activemodeintostandbymode,after lessthan threehoursinactive mode,
following thelastuserinteractionand/orachannelchangewithan alertmessage twominutesbeforegoing into
standby mode.The Automaticpower-downwill be setasdefaultandtheuserwillbeabletochange Automatic
power downtoon or offinthemenu.
ImportantNote: If thereisanyongoingprogrammerecordingor if anyEPG programmerecordingsand/or manual
recordings issettoanearby time,theunit doesnotswitch tolowpower mode andremains inactivestandbymode
untilrecording taskshavebeen nished.Atlowpower mode,theunit initializesacoupleofminutesbefore the
actualtimeof the incoming recordingtask.
ImportantNote : Theunit initializestimetotimetoreceiveupdates from EPG broadcastinorder tosycnronize
EPG recordingtasks properly.After getting updates,the unitswitchestolowpower mode automatically.Thistakes
ashortwhileandit isnotamalfunction.

Important -Hard Disk Information
ThisRecorder has abuiltinhard disk (abbreviated
asHDD )forrecordingand playback.Bewareof
the following pointswhen setting up and using the
Recorder.Failure toobserve precautions may cause
damage tothe HDDitselfor itscontent,failureofthe
disk tooperate, orrecording ofnoise.
•DonotsubjecttheRecorder toanyvibrationor
impact.
•Donotplace the Recorder inacramped location
which mightblock the ventilation porton the back of
the Recorder.
•Donotplace the Recorder inalocation withsevere
temperaturevariation.
•Ifthe Recorder issetup inalocation withsevere
temperaturevariation,dewmay formon and inside
the Recorder.Ifthe Recorder isused withinternal
dewformation present,thismay cause HDDdamage
or malfunction.Werecommend keeping variation in
roomtemperaturewithin10˚Cper hour.
•Donotplace the Recorder inalocation withhigh
humidity.
•Placethe Recorder horizontally,neveratan
incline.
•Donotplace amagneticdevice (magnetetc.)close
tothe recorder.
•Whenthepower ison,do notunplug the power
cord from the ACoutlet,turn offthe breaker forthe
area wheretheRecorderissetup,ormove the
Recorder.
When moving the Recorder, rstturnoffthe power and
then unplug the power cord fromtheACoutlet.
Recording Format
•HDDrecording isdone using the variablebitrate
format(VBR)for more efficientrecording.The
following phenomena may occur.
Withthevariablebitrateformat, the remaining amount
which can berecordedmayincrease or decrease
relative tothe display ofthe remaining amountof
HDDspace.
•Whenthe displayindicatesthatthe remaining
amountofHDDspaceislow, rstdeleteunnecessary
programmes,and then record withan extra margin
inthe amountofremaining space.There isan option
inthe con gurationmenu todiscardthe recordings.
You can choose between three options:
Deleting,
1–Oldestrecordings
2–Largestrecordings
3–Smallestrecordings
Whenthe HDD isoutofspace,itwill operateregarding
one ofthese options and deletethe
recordings.
•Even ifyoudeleteaprogramme,the remaining
amountmay notincrease by the amountofdeleted
time.When recording newvideo,record withanextra
margininthe amountofremaining space.
Unrecordable Material
Inthe unlikelyeventthatthere issome problem like
loss ofrecordedvideo or audiocontentdue toanHDD
malfunction,please be aware beforehand thatwewill
bear no responsibilitytocompensatefor the content
which couldnotbe recorded or edited,for theloss of
recordedoredited video,or for other related director
indirectdamages.
-Ifapower failureoccurs
•The contentbeing recorded or timer recorded may
be damaged ifpower failureoccurs.
•The contentbeing played back may be damaged.
-For important recording
•Ifthe HDDmalfunctions,the contentrecorded on
the HDD maybelost. Ifyouwishtosave content
permanently,werecommend copying ormoving the
contenttoVideo or DVD.
NOTE
•Ifamessage indicating an HDDerror isdisplayed
(such as “ERRORINHDD.CANNOTOPERATE.”)
and the HDDhas malfunctioned,you cannotreplace
theHDD byyourself. If youdisassembletheRecorder,
the warrantywillbecome void.Also,recovery ofdata
isimpossible.Ifplayback ispossible,re-record the
recordedcontentontoaVideo orDVD,and contact
the approved service centrewiththe detailsprovided
atthe frontand back ofthisoperation manual.
HardDisk Operation(Recording /Playback /Time
Shift Recording)
Ifthe Recorderisused inacoldlocation (a location
atlowtemperature),thedrive will onlyallowlive
viewingafterpower isturnedonuntil theHDD is
ready.During thistime,the Recorder willnotallow
TimeShiftViewing,recording,display ofrecording
listsor playback ofrecorded programmes.Please
waituntil the HDDisready.

First TimeInstallation
IMPORTANT:Ensurethattheaerialisconnected
before switching onthe set top box for the rst
installation.
•When the set-top-box isoperated forthe rst
time,installation wizardwillguide you through the
process.First,TVType selection on-screen menu
willbe displayed:
•Selectthe TVType by using “ ”/“ ”buttons and
press OK button tocontinue.
•Tostartinstallationprocess,selectYesby using
“”/“ ” buttonsandthen pressthe OK button.
•The box willstarttosearch availablestations.The
progress bar will move along the line.You should
allowthe set-top-box tocompletethe search tostore
allavailablestations.
Note:You can press MENU button tocancel.
ChangingChannels
•You can changechannelswiththe following
methods.
•You can press the numericbuttons (0–9)todirectly
enterthe channelnumber.You can press numeric
buttons consecutivelytoenter twoor more digits.
•Press the PR+/ PR- buttons tomove up or downto
the nextavailablechannel.
Note:Youcan press OK button todisplay the channel
list.
AdjustingtheVolume
Mute
•You can press tomutethe sound ofyour set-
top-box.The sound willbe muted once thisbutton
ispressed.
•Tocancelmute, you canpress button againor
usethe V+/- buttons.
VolumeUp/Down
•You can increase or decrease the volumeby using
V+/V- buttons.
•The volume levelselected willremain set, evenwhen
the receiver isturned offandon again,untilyouchange
volume again.
•The audiovolume adjustmentfor the receiver is
independentof the volume control on yourTVset.
IMPORTANT:You shouldbe carefulthatbothvolume
controlsarekeptwithinreasonablelevelsso thatwhen
switching on,or when rstturning on yourTV set,the
sound levelisnottoo high.
On-ScreenInformation
•Youcan press INFO button todisplay on-screen
information.Detailsofthestation andcurrent
programme will be displayed on the information
screen.
•Particularly;currenteventname,nextevent
name,and starting and ending time,duration bar,
programmemode, channelnumber and name willbe
displayed on the information screen (ifavailable).

Instant Recording
•Press (RECORD)button tostartrecording an
eventinstantlywhilewatching aprogramme.The
following OSDappears on the screen:
•Record OSDwillthen be displayed for ashorttime
and the currenteventwillbe recorded.
•Press (STOP)button tocancelinstantrecording.
The following OSDwill be displayed:
Select Yes by using “ ”or “ ”/ OK buttons tocancel
instantrecording.
Note:When tworecordings are active,you can only
watch recorded channels.
Itisallowed toschedulerecordings up tofourevents
by InstantRecording.
Time Shifting (PauseLiveRecording)
•Pause Live Recording isafeature thatenables you
topausealivebroadcast. Thelive broadcastingcan
be stopped any time.
'•PressPAUSE buttontotimeshiftthe broadcasting.
Inthe INFObannerthetimeshiftwillcommence.
•The duration ofTimeshift canbe adjustedfrom
Recordings inthe Con guration menu.
•Inorder tostop the timeshiftpress PLAY,PAUSE or
OK button.The paused recording can be watchedin
differentspeeds by means ofor keys.To
terminatethe timeshiftingpress STOP button.
Menu System
Viewing theMain Menu
•Press the MENU button toviewmainmenu.
•You canmove between menus by using the
navigation ( / / / )buttons on the remote
control.
•You can enter,selector con rmamenu option by
using OK button.
•Insomesub-menus,you can use BACK button to
return toaprevious menu screen.
•Toexitfromamenu screen,you can press MENU
button.
•The following itemsarelocated inthe mainmenu

Information Banner
•Information banner willbe displayed atthe bottom
ofthe menu screen inallmenus.
•Availablefunctions thatcan be used inthe current
menu are displayed inthe information banner.
Managing Stations:Channel List
•The set-top-box keeps allstoredstationsinthe
ChannelList.
•You can editthischannellistor setfavourites by
using the ChannelListoptions.
•Press MENU buttontoviewmainmenu. Select
ChannelListitembyusing“ ”/“ button.Press
OK toviewmenu contents.
Note:Youcan direcltypress OK button toview
channellist.

Selecting a Speci cChannel
• Select option shouldbehighlightedby using “ ”/“
” button.
•Towatch aspeci cchannel,youshouldhighlight
the desired channelusing “ ”/“ ” button andpress OK
button. Selectedchannel will bedisplayed.
•Iftheselected channelispasswordprotected,parental
lockpasswordwill beasked.Ifthecorrectcodeis
entered,selectedchannelcan be watched.
Operatingthe Channel List
•Press “ ”/“ ” button toselectthe channelthatwill
be processed.
•Press “ ”/“ ” button toselectafunction on Channel
List menu.
•Use P+/P- buttons tomove page up or down.
•Press BLUE button toview lteringoptions.
•Press YELLOW button totag/untag achannel.
•Press GREEN button totag/untag all.
•Press MENU button toexit.
•Use INFO button toviewmore information.
Deleting Channels
•Selectthe channelthatyou wanttodeleteand select
Deleteoptionusing“ ”/“ ”button.Press OK button
tocontinue.
•Amessagewillbedisplayedtocon rmyourdecision.
Select YES todeletethe selected channel,select
NO tocancel.Press OK button tocontinue.
•Selected channelwillbe deleted ifyouselect YES.
The operation willbe cancelled ifyou select NO.
Deleting Multiple Channels:
•SelectDeleteand highlightthe channelyou want
todelete.
•Press YELLOW key.The channelwillbe marked.
Move tothenextchannelyou wanttodelete.Press
YELLOW key.
•Mark the other channelsyou wanttodeletelike the
same way and press OK.
You willsee acon rmation menu.SelectYES inthe
menu.The selected channelswillbe deleted.
Tomark allthe channelsinthe channellistatonce
you can use GREEN key.
RenamingChannels
•Selectthe channelthatyou wanttorename and
select EditName option using “ ”/“ ”button.Press
OK button tocontinue.
•Pressing“ ”/“ ”buttonmovestotheprevious/
nextcharacter.Pressing “ ”/“ ” button toggles the
currentcharacter,i.e., ‘b’character becomes ‘a’by
pressing “ ”and ‘c’by pressing “ ”.
•Pressingthenumericbuttons ‘0...9’replacesthe
highlighted character withthe charactersprinted
above the button one by one as the buttonis
pressed.
•Press MENU tocancelediting.
•When nished,press OK button tosave the new
name.
AddingLocks toChannels
•Select the channel thatyou wanttolock and select
Lock option using “ ”/“ ” button.Press OK button
tocontinue.
•Youwillbeasked toenterparentalcontrolPIN code.
Default PINisset as 0000.Enter the PINnumber.
•Press OK buttonwhenthedesiredchannelis
highlighted tolock/unlock the channel.Lock symbol
willbe displayednexttothe selected channel. You
can repeatthe sameoperation tocancelthe lock.
Note:DefaultPINcodeis0000 andit can be changed
using the Con guration Menu.
LockingMultiple Channels:
•SelectLock itemand highlightthe channelyou want
tolock.Press YELLOW key.The channelwillbe
marked.
•Movetothenextchannelyou wanttolock andpress
YELLOW key.
•Markthe otherchannelsyou wanttolock like the
same way and press OK.
•Enterthe pincode inthe menu displayed and press
OK.
•The selected channelswillbe locked.
•Tomarkallthe channelsinthe channellist atonce
you can use GREEN key.
SettingFavourites
•SelectFavourites by using“ ”/“ ” buttonand press
OK button.
•You can setvarious channelsas favourites so that
onlythe favouritechannelsare navigated.
•Selectachannelby using ”/“ ” button.Press OK
buttontoadd selected channeltothe favourites
list.

•Stariconindicatesthatthe selectedchannelisadded
tothe favourites list.
•You can press OK buttonagaintoremovethe
selected channelfrom the list.
ButtonFunctions:
• OK:Adds/removes astation.
• BLUE:Displays ltering options.
• YELLOW:Tags/untags achannel.
• GREEN:Tags/untags all.
ViewingElectronicProgramme
Guide(EPG)
You can viewthe electronicprogramme guide (EPG)
toviewinformation aboutavailableprogrammes.The
boxgetsinformationofthe channel-programsweekly
bymeans of7-DAY–EPG.Select Programme Guide
from the mainmenu by using “ ”/“ ”buttons.Press
OK tocontinue.
HINT: You canalso press GUIDE buttontoviewthe
EPG menu.
•Press “ ”/“ ”buttons tonavigatethroughchannels.
•Press“ ”/“ ” buttonstonavigatethroughthe
programme list.
•EPGmenu displays availableinformation on all
channels.
•Please notethateventinformationisupdated
automatically.If therearenoeventinformation
dataavailableforchannels,EPGwillbe displayed
withblanks.
Redbutton (Prev Day): Displays the programmes
ofprevious day.
Greenbutton(Nextday): Displays the programmes
ofthe nextday.
Yellowbutton (Zoom):Expandsprogramme
information.
Blue button (Filter): Views ltering options.
INFO(Details): Displays theprogrammes indetail.
:Records the selected programme.
Numericbuttons (Jump):Jumps tothe preferred
channeldirectlyvianumericbuttons.
OK(Options): Displays programme options including
“Select Channel”option.
: Scrollspageleft.
: Scrollspageright.
Text (Search): Displays “GuideSearch”menu.
(Now) :Showsthecurrentprogramme.
EventOptions
InEPG menu,pressthe OK buttontoenterthe“Event
Options”menu.
Select Channel & Exit
•Using thisoption,you can switch tothe selected
programme orexit.
Record / Delete Record Timer
After you have selected aprogramme inEPGmenu,
press the OK button and and EventOptions screen
willbe displayed.Select“Record”option and press
the OK button.Afterthisoperation,arecording
becomes settothe selected programme.
Tocancelan already setrecording,highlightthat
programmeandpressthe OK buttonand select
the option “DeleteTimer”.The recordingwillbe
cancelled.
Note:When tworecordings are active,you can only
watch recorded channels.
Record Series/Delete Series
InEPGmenu,after you have selected aprogramme,
press the OK button and selectthe RecordSeries
option inthe menu whichappears andpress the
OK button again.So aseries recording issettothe
selected programme.Withthisfeature,youcan record
aprogrammeandallofitsfollowing partswithin8days.
The information belonging tothe selected programme
willbe savedfromthe software and following parts
ofthe selected programme which arenotincluded in
the period of8days,willbe automaticallyadded day
by day.The letter “s” denotes thatthese recordings
are series records.

Tocancelan already setseries recording,highlight
thatprogrammeand press the OK button and select
the option Delete Series Timer. The recordings will
be cancelled.
Note:Series programme information shouldbe
broadcasted by the broadcaster.
Check Conicts
Aconictiscaused,if morethantwoprogrammesare
setfor recordinginthe same time interval. IntheEPG
menu,press the OK button.Inthe following window,
selectthe option “Check Overlapping Timers”and
press againthe OK button.You willenterthe “Too
Many Timers”window.
Split Record
Ifyou selectaprogramme tobe recorded,withthis
feature,if thereisanotherpartofthe programme
available,itwillalsobe setautomaticallytobe
recorded.Forexample inthefollowingpicture you see
the programme withared underline, which following
episode isalso underlined.Todo this,you have to
press onlythe RECORD button once.The restwill
be done automatically.
Note:Split programmeinformationshouldbe
broadcasted by the broadcaster.
Multiple/Alternative Timer Record
Itispossibletorecord or setrecording timers for two
individualeventsatthe sametimeinterval.Ifyou set
morethan tworecordings atthe same time,you will
see an errormessage.
INFO: Pressing thisbutton,gives youdetailed
informationaboutthe selected programme.
Record/Cancel: Sets recordings forthe selected
programme.Ifyou pres itagain,the recording will
be cancelled.
OK: Pressing thisbutton willsave the latestchanging
and you willleave thiswindowand go back tothe
EPGwindow.
Alternatives: Ifyou press thisbutton,you will get
alternatives forthe programmewhichcausesa
conict.
NOTE:Aconflictiscaused,ifmore than two
programmes are setfor recording inthesametime
interval.Tosolve thisconict,you have toselectan
alternative for one ofthose programmes or cancel
one ofthe recording timers.
NOTE:Ifthere isstillaconictand you leave this
menu by pressing the OKbutton,you willsee this
warning message: “Thereare stillconicts!”.Awarning
trianglewill appearnearby the programmeswhich
cause aconict. These programmes willberecorded
particularlyor not.

SelectTimers from the mainmenu and press OK
button.
Toaddatimer,presstheYELLOW buttononthe
remotecontrol.Then “Add Timer”windowappears.
Channel:“ ”/“ ” keys willnavigatethe userthrough
the TVor Radiolist.
RecordType:Displays recording type.
Date:Startingdateisentered viathe Left/Rightor the
numericbuttons.
Start:Starting timeisentered viathe Left/Rightor
the numericbuttons.
End:Ending time isentered viathe Left/Rightor the
numericbuttons.
Duration: Duration between Startand Endtime.
Repeat:Setsthe repeating preference.
Playback:Setsplayback control.
Change/Delete:permitsor prohibitsany modi cations
forother users.
Youcansavethe adjustmentsbypressingthe
GREEN key or cancelthe process by pressing the
RED button.
•You can editthetimers listvia GREEN key and delete
withthe RED button.You can also press OK button
todisplay other options.
RecordingsLibrary
Toviewthe listofrecordings,press the MENU button
todisplaythemain menuandusethe “‚”or “•”
button tohighlightthe “Recordings Library”line and
press the OK button.Recordings Library willthen be
displayed withavailablerecordings.
Allthe recordings arekeptinalistinthe recordings
library.
Red bar: Indicates the used space of the recordings
on the harddisk.
Yellowbar:Displays the approximatecapacity
required for the timers currentlyset.
REDbutton(Delete):Erases the selected
recording.
GREEN button (Edit):Makes changeson the
selected recording.
BLUEbutton(Sort):Changes the order ofthe
recordings.You can selectfrom awide range of
sorting options.
(Resume):Resumes the playback.
Note:Viewing mainmenuand menu itemswillnotbe
availableduring the playback.
INFO (Details):Displaysthe shortextended
programmes indetail.
OKbutton:Displays playing options:
Play Options
Play fromstart: Plays therecording fromthe
beginning.
Resume: Begins withplaying from the laststopped
position.
Play from offset: Begins withplaying,from the time
which isentered.
Manage chapters : Itwilldisplay anymarked chapters
(Tosetchapter marks,press theMenu button during

playback and enter the “Chapter Options” menu) and
beginwithplayback from the selected chapter.
Create archive (Archive management): Touse this
feature,you shouldtag the les tobe archived rst
by using the YELLOW button.When allthe desired
recordings aretagged,press OK button todisplay
Play Options andthenselect Create Archive.When
nished,press button tostartarchiving.
EditRecordings:Press OK buttonwhen Edit
Recordings ishighlighted.Thenselectthe recordings
thatare tobe archived.When nished,press OK
button and the following menu willbe displayed:
Inthismenu,only Start recordingat and Stop
recording at options are active.Ifyou have already
splitted the recording,you couldselectany chapter.
Ifitisnotsplitted inchapters, the beginning and
endingtime ofthe recording will be automaticallythe
beginning and ending time ofthe archiving.
Main Title
Ifyou wanttodisplay amaintitle,select Include.If
not, select Skip.Byselecting Skip,the options below
willbe disabled.
TEXT: Afteryou selectthe Include option
inthe “MainTitle” menu,you can editthe
maintitle.
DURATION: Set the duration of the
appearanceofthe maintitleon the screen.
Recording Title
Ifyou wanttodisplay arecording title,select Include.
Ifnot,select Skip.
Duration
Settheduration oftheappearanceofthe Edit

Displaying ChapterOptions

Max Time Shift
Selectthe maximumtime allowedfor timeshifting.

Auto Discard
Discard: When the HDDisfulland atimerissetto
record,the unit will automaticallydiscard previous
recordings based onthissetting.The options areas
the following:
None: The unitwillnotdiscard any recordings and the
timerwillnotrecord the requested programme.
Oldest: Starting withthe oldest,recordings willbe
deleted tomake space for the requested timer.
Longest: Startingwiththelongest,recordingswillbe
deleted tomake space for the requested timer.
Shortest: Startingwiththeshortest,recordings will be
deleted tomake space for the requested timer.
Unplayed: Ifthisoption issetto EXCLUDED any
unplayed recordings willNOTbedeleted.Ifthisoption
issetto INCLUDED,unplayed recordings WILLbe
deleted.
Watershed From&To: Use thesesettingstochange
the watershedtime period.Press MENU buttonto
exit.
Any recording which ismade during the watershed
period will have “Playback”setto“Disallowed”when it
appearsinthe library.You can onlyplay therecording
if you enterthe PIN.

Active channels
•Youcanselectbroadcaststobelistedinthechannel

by using “ ”/“ ” button.Availablemodes are: TV
Only,RadioOnly,Text Only,Favourites or Show

•Pressthe MENU button tosave the recentchanges

Scan Encrypted
•When thissetting ison,search process willlocate
the encrypted channelsas well.Ifitissetas Off,
encrypted channelswillnotbe located inautomatic
search or manualsearch.
•Use“ ”/“ ”buttons tohighlight Scan Encrypted and
press“ ”/“ ” buttons toselect YES or NO.
Output Settings
TV Type
•Digitalterrestrialtelevision channelscan be
broadcastinawidescreen formatwhich mustbe

•Thisfunction defines thescreenformatofthe
connected TVtoenablebroadcasts’beingdisplayed
correctly.
•Select 4:3 ifyou have astandard TVsetwith4:3

Note:Thisfunction also enables you tochange TV
Type thatyouhavepreviouslyselected during the
rsttime installation.
TV Out
•The set-top-box can outputRGBand CVBS signal
viathe TVSCART connector located on the rear
panel.
•Although the RGBformatprovides abetterpicture
quality,some devices mightnotsupportit.
Receiver Upgrade
•Toensure thatyourset-top-boxalways hasthemost
updateinformation,youcanuse thissetting.Inorder
forthe properoperation,please ensure thatthe box
issettostandby mode.
• The STBautomaticallypowers up at3.00 A.M.every
day and searches for any newsoftware thatmay
be broadcast.Iffound,the box willdownload new
softwareautomatically.Thisoperation willnormally
take approximately30 minutes.
•You can enableor disableautomaticupgrade by
setting AutomaticScanning option.
•Youcanmanuallysearchfornewsoftwareby
selecting Scanfor upgrade.
MenuLocking

Menu Lock
•Menulocksettingenablesordisablesthe menu
access.You can disableaccess tothe installation
menu or the wholemenu system.
Set Pin
•Press OK todisplay the “SetPIN”window.Use
numericbuttons toenter the new pinnumber.You
willneed toinputyour newpinasecond timefor
veri cation purposes.
•Thefactorydefault pinnumber is0000.If youchange
the pinnumber make sure you writeitdownand
keep itsafe.
Low Power
Ifyou enablelowpower option,lowpower mode willbe
activated.Inlowpower mode the power consumption
isless then 1W (instandby).
Ifyoudisablelowpower option the power consumption
willbe higherthan 1W instandby mode howeverthe
opening time willbe shorter.
AutoStandby
•Press “ ”or “ ”button toselectAutoSleep.Use “
”or “ ”button tosetthe AutoSleep to Disabled,
2Hours,4Hours,6Hours or 8Hours.
•Afterthetimeoutvalueisreached,theboxwill
switch off.
System Info
Select System Info and press OK button todisplay
systeminformation.

thedatabase isnotre-storedtoavoidduplicatesofthat
channel.
Format Disk
Ifyouwanttoformatthe internalhard disk,you can
use Format Disk option. ALLthe datastoredon the
hard disk willbe lostinsuch acase.
