Precautions for
Using MODI
The product contains small magnet(s). Swallowed magnets can stick together across
intestines causing serious infections and death. Seek immediate medical attention if
magnet(s) are swallowed or inhaled.
MODI modules come with many sensitive sensors and parts. Please ensure that the
modules are not unreasonably exposed to dust, dirt, food and other contaminants. MODI
modules should be cleaned only by wiping with a dry cloth.
The infrared module contains glass. Careful handling and storage is required for this
module. In particular, do not throw or step on it.
MODI modules are not waterproof. If a module is exposed to liquid, it could be
permanently damaged. If you spill any type of liquid on a module, stop using it
immediately and dry it in a well-ventilated place, away from direct sunlight, for at least
48 hours. If the module still does not work after drying it out completely, contact our
Customer Service Center.
MODI modules are sealed closed to ensure their safe and normal operation. If a module
case is opened, it could be permanently damaged.
MODI module cases, their internal elements, and other parts could be damaged by strong
external shocks. Do not purposefully throw or drop modules, and do not apply force or
pressure to modules.
Do not open or damage the battery module. The internal elements could be severely
deformed or damaged if exposed to temperatures above 60°C.

The Ultrasonic module uses 20KHz ultrasonic waves, which cannot be
heard by people.
It calculates distance by measuring the time required for these waves to
return to the module after being reflected by an object.

To use Plug & Play, the following conditions need to be met.
You can enjoy MODI without coding through Plug & Play by combining MODI modules.
* Connection example:
Connect the Battery, Button ,
and LED modules together.
By pressing the button,
you turn on the LED light.
If all of the above conditions are met, you can use Plug & Play with MODI.
Since all of the modules have different features, their matching values for Plug & Play vary as well.
Check the features of each module before use.
At least one Input module and one Output module should be connected.
Power should be provided to all the modules.
All the modules should be reset to the Plug & Play mode by MODI Studio.
To use wireless communication between modules using a pair of Network modules,
the Network modules need to be paired with each other.

Network module pairing
Network module pairing
➊ The Display module is not available for Plug & Play through the Network modules.
➋ We recommend using Network module pairing in environments where there are
not many other wireless signals.
➌ All modules to be used should be reset first.
➊ Prepare two Network modules and provide power to each module.
(At this time, the Network modules should not communicate with other external devices.)
➋ Connect the Network modules and check to see if they both have a blinking blue LED status light.
ⅠPreparing for Network Module Pairing
ⅢHow to Pair Network Modules
The Display module is not available for Plug & Play through wireless networks.
Plug & Play is not available for modules which have not been reset.
Interference may be experienced in places where there are numerous WiFi signals.
If two Network modules that are pairing are separated when their LED status lights are still blinking,
they may not work properly.
ⅡWireless Network Module Plug & Play Precautions

19 All About -
➌ If the Network module Status LEDs stop blinking, separate them.
➍ Connect an Input or Output module that you want to connect through wireless
connection to each Network module. in order to check its status.
➎ Network pairing is available in Coding Mode as well as for Plug & Play.
