Ifthethreadsizeiscorrect, changingthescrewheadshapeandmaterialwillaffectthesound, andexperimentingcanbefun. Nonetheless, thesuppliedscrewsaremadeofanon-standardstainless-steelalloywhichinourexperi-encegivesthebestsonicresultswithKleosSL. Thetonearmheadshellmusthavenon-threadedholesorslotsthatareaccessiblefromabove.ElectricalconnectionsConnectthered(R+) andgreen(RG−) aswellaswhite(L+) andblue(LG−) outputpinsattherearofKleosSLtotonearm(orheadshell) lead-wires. Matcheachcoloredtonearmlead-wirecliptothecorrespondinglycoloredcartridgeoutputpin. KleosSL'sred-greenpinsoutputtherightchannelsignal, thewhite-bluepinsoutputtheleftchannelsignal.TheoutputpinsoftheKleosSLareplatinum-platedforsuperiorsoundandessentiallymaintenance-freeoperation.StylusguardRemovestyluscoveronlyafterprovisionallyinstallingKleosSLinyourton-earm(orheadshell). Graspbothsidesofstyluscoverandgentlypullitstraightforwardtowardsthefrontofthecartridgeandandthenaway, whilewatchingthecantileverassemblycloselytoavoidanycontactbetweencan-tileverandstyluscover, orbetweencantileverandyourfingers.StylusandcantileveralignmentStylusandcantileveralignmentadjustmentsintheheadshellshouldbedonewithaseparatelyavailabletemplate(set-uptool) andastylusforcegauge. KleosSL' longfootprintline-contactstylusisveryrevealing, andcarefulsetup(werecommendBaerwaldorLofgrenAalignment) willberewardedwithbettersound.KleosSLincorporatesanother, simplerstylusalignmentmethod. TheKleosSLbodyhasa1.02mmholedrilleddirectlyabovethestylus, andthiscanbeusedwithcompatibletonearms, witha1mmhole(US60 gaugeor0.040inch) drilledthroughtheheadshellatthepositionwhichgivesoptimaltrackingofthestylus. Securedrillwithclayorputtysothatitdoesn'tslip(butcanstillmoveifpushedupvertically).MountKleosSLtoheadshellsothattheprotrudingdrillshaftfitsintothe1.02mmholeintheKleosSLbody. Dothisslowlyandcarefully, sinceyoucouldscratchtheKleosSLbodyifyoupushordragwhenitisnotalignedwithdrillshaft. OnceKleosSLisflushwiththeheadshellunderside, installandtightenthetwo2.6mmmountingscrews. Feelfreetoalsouseasepa-ratetemplatetoverifythatcantileverisperpendiculartoLPgrooveatnullpoints(normally66.0 and120.9 mmfromtheLPcenter). Finally, removedrillshaft. StrongalcoholandchemicalbasedstyluscleanersofothermakesarenotrecommendedforusewithLyracartridges. Besurethatanyliquidisnotusedonanyotherpartofthecartridgethanthediamondstylus. Usetheliquidsparingly.FluxbustingPeriodic"fluxbusting" withacommerciallyavailablephonocartridgedemagnetizer(nottapeerasors!) willalsoyieldsonicbenefits. Carefullyfollowthedemagnetizerinstructionsforsafe, beneficialresults.CautionNeverremovethewhitedust-coverthatcoversandprotectsthemovingcoilandmagnetarea!!!
