operating your Steam Inhaler.
This unit should be used only for (1) its
intended purpose as described in this
guidebook, and (2) with medications only
under the supervision and instruction of your
physician.
READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE USING
•To avoid electrical shock: Keep unit away
from water • Do not handle the unit or
power cord with wet hands • Do not
immerse the unit in liquid • Do not use
while bathing • Do not reach for a unit that
has fallen into water – immediately unplug
the unit.
• Do not use the unit if it has any damaged
parts (including power cord or plug), if it
has been submersed in water or dropped.
Promptly send the unit for examination
and repair.
•Do not use extension cords.
•The unit should not be used where
flammable gas, oxygen or aerosol spray
products are being used.
• Keep the air vents open. Do not place the
unit on a soft surface where the openings
can be blocked.
• Do not operate the unit if the water tank is
empty.
•If any abnormality occurs, discontinue use
until the unit has been examined and

MABIS Healthcare (‘MABIS’) guarantees that its MABIS Steam Inhaler will be free from
manufacturing defects under normal use for a period of one year from the date of purchase.
This warranty covers only normal use, and does not apply to use in any clinical or
commercial applications. This warranty does not cover batteries or other power sources that
may be provided with or used with the MABIS Steam Inhaler. This warranty is voided if the
MABIS Steam Inhaler product is misused or abused in any manner.
If the MABIS Steam Inhaler fails to operate during the warranty period, return it postage
prepaid along with $5.00 for return shipping and insurance to: MABIS Healthcare,
Attn: Repair Department, 1931 Norman Drive, Waukegan, IL 60085. Repair or replacement
of the defective unit, at MABIS’ option, is the sole remedy under this warranty.
ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES WHICH THE PURCHASER MAY HAVE ARE LIMITED IN
DURATION TO THE TIME THAT THE ORIGINAL CONSUMER PURCHASER OWNS THE
PRODUCT. Some states do not allow limitations or how long an implied warranty lasts., so
the above limitation may not apply to you.
This warranty constitutes MABIS’ only responsibility and obligation to repair and/or replace
materials or components, or refund the purchase price. MABIS will not be responsible for
any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages or other loss,
including, but not limited to, damage to or loss of other property or equipment and personal
injuries, whether to purchaser or others. MABIS shall in no event be liable to the purchaser
for any amount in excess of the cost of repair and/or replacement of the unit, or the purchase
price of the unit. Some states do not allow the exclusive or limitation of incidental or
consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary
from state to state.

Introduction
Thank you for purchasing a MABIS Steam
Inhaler. With proper care and use, your
Steam Inhaler will provide you with many
years of therapeutic relief.
This unit operates on standard AC power.
Treatments are delivered quickly, safely and
conveniently with the use of tap water.
We encourage you to thoroughly read this
guidebook to learn about the features of
your Steam Inhaler.
• Never use without water in the water
heater tank.
• The unit should not be left unattended
while plugged in.
• Do not tilt or shake the unit when in
operation.
• Disconnect the unit from the electrical
outlet before cleaning, filling and after
each use.
• Do not use attachments unless
recommended by the manufacturer.
•Never add medicines or aromatherapy
liquids to the water heater tank.
Operating Cautions
• Close adult supervision is highly
recommended when this unit is used by
invalids or children.
• Keep your eyes away from the output of
vapor mist.
• The maximum capacity of the water heater
tank is 25 mL and should not be overfilled.
• The maximum capacity of the
armomatherapy tank is 60 mL and should
not be overfilled.
•Do not use this unit while operating a
vehicle.
• If any discomfort or abnormality occurs,
stop using the unit immediately.
Storage Cautions
•Do not store the unit in direct sunlight,
high temperature or humidity.
• Keep the unit out of reach of small
children.
•Always keep the unit unplugged and empty
while not in use.
Cleaning Cautions
• Check the mask, extension tube, tank,
suction tube and any other optional
components before each use.
Dirty or worn parts should be replaced.
•Do not immerse the unit in water. It may
damage the unit.
• Disconnect the unit from the electrical
outlet before cleaning.
• Clean all necessary parts after each use
as instructed in this guidebook.

OperatingYour Inhaler
Follow the cleaning instructions in this
guidebook under ‘Cleaning Technique’ prior
to using your Steam Inhaler for the first time
or after it has been stored for an extended
period of time.
REMEMBER: Always unplug the Inhaler
and make sure the POWER switch is turned
to the ‘OFF’ position before cleaning,
assembling and before or after each use.
1) Place the Inhaler
on a flat, stable
surface within reach,
with the mask facing
towards you, Fig. 3.
2) Gently pull straight up
on the cover of the
Inhaler to remove lid.
3) Remove the cap to the
water heater tank by
turning it
counterclockwise,
Fig. 4.
4) Using the included
measuring cup, fill the
water heater tank with
approximately 25 mL
of tap water, Fig. 5. Do
not fill water above the
five square-shaped
vents on the wall of
the tank. NOTE: Do
not use anything
except water in the
water heater tank.
5) Reattach the cap and
the cover.
6) If desired, remove
the aromatherapy/drain
tank from the unit. Fill
the aromatherapy tank
with up to 60 mL of
saline or aromatherapy
water, Fig. 6.
7) Return the
aromatherapy/drain
tank to the unit
making sure that the
suction tube makes
contact with the
bottom of the tank.
8) Position the extension tube to a
comfortable position by manually
extending or retracting the tube.
9) Slide the variable steam control down for
small-sized particles of steam. Smaller
particles are ideal when inhaling steam
through the nose. Slide the control up
and large-sized particles will result.
Larger particles are ideal when inhaling
through the mouth.
NOTE: Extending the tube also lowers the
temperature of the steam.
10)Check that the POWER switch is in the
‘off’ position. Plug the power cord into a
main outlet.
11)Turn the POWER switch to the ‘ON’
position.
12)Start your treatment.
13)The Steam Inhaler will begin to output
steam in approximately 60 seconds.
Once the level of steam becomes weak
(approximately 6-9 minutues), turn the
POWER switch to the ‘OFF’ position and
unplug the power cord from the outlet.
IMPORTANT!
The Inhaler will automatically shut off if it
becomes overheated. If/when this happens,
immediately:
1) Turn the POWER switch to the ‘OFF’
position.
2) Unplug the power cord from the outlet.
3) Allow the unit to cool for approximately
30 minutes.
Before restarting the unit, make sure that
the air vents on the extension tube are not
obstructed.
After Every Use
1) Unplug the unit from the power source.
2) Allow the unit to completely cool
(approximately 10 minutes).
3) Carefully remove the aromatherapy/drain
tank and pour out any remaining water.
4) Follow the cleaning procedures provided
in this guidebook.
NOTE: Occasionally the nozzle that directs
the steam into the extension tube may
become obstructed. If the Steam Inhaler
begins to produce a significanty smaller
amount of steam or no steam at all, the
nozzle needs to be cleaned. To clean the
nozzle, remove the cover from the Steam
Inhaler. Firmly grasp the nozzle and twist
clockwise to remove, Fig. 7. Insert a fine
gauge needle or the pin which is stored
under the bottom of the Steam Inhaler into
the nozzle to clear the airway, Fig. 7. To
reattach the nozzle, align the nozzle
brackets with the grooves on the nozzle
base. Turn counterclockwise until the nozzle
locks into place.
Troubleshooting
If any abnormality occurs during use, please
check and correct the following:

Cleaning Procedures
Rinsing Technique
(Performed after each use):
1) Make sure that the unit has cooled
(approx. 10 minutes), the POWER
switch has been turned to the ‘OFF’
position and the unit has been
disconnected from the power source.
2) Remove the cover
from the body of the
Steam Inhaler.
Remove the cap to the
water heater tank,

3) Carefully remove the
one-piece
aromatherapy/drain
tank from the unit,
Fig. 2.
4) Rinse
aromatherapy/drain
tank with hot tap water.
5) Empty any remaining
water from the water
heater tank.
6) Dry with clean towels or allow to
completely air dry.
7) Reassemble the Steam Inhaler and store
in a cool, dry place.
Cleaning Technique
(Performed once a week or before first time
use):
1) Follow steps 1-5 under ‘Rinsing
Technique.’
2) Wash aromatherapy/drain tank, cover,
water heater tank cover, extension tube
and mask in warm water and a mild
detergent. Thoroughly rinse and allow to
completely dry.
Cleaning the Steam Inhaler
NEVER submerge the main unit in water.
Wipe the Steam Inhaler using a soft, slightly
water-moistened cloth.
NOTE: Any other form of cleaning or
cleaning agents may damage the unit and
void your warranty.

MABIS Healthcare (‘MABIS’) garantiza que su Vaporizador MABIS estará libre de defectos
de fábrica en condiciones normales de uso durante un año partir de la fecha de compra.

Introducción
Gracias por haber adquirido un Vaporizador
MABIS. Con el cuidado y uso adecuados,
su Vaporizador le brindará muchos años de
alivio terapéutico.
Esta unidad funciona con alimentación
estándar de CA. Los tratamientos se real-
izan en forma rápida, segura y conveniente,
usando agua de la canilla.
Le sugerimos que lea atentamente esta
guía para conocer las funciones del
Vaporizador.

7) Vuelva a colocar el
tanque de
drenaje/aromaterapia
en la unidad,
asegurándose de que
el tubo de aspiración
entre en contacto con
la parte inferior del
tanque.
8) Coloque el tubo de
extensión en una
posición cómoda,
extendiéndolo o retrayéndolo.
9) Para pequeñas partículas de vapor,
lleve hacia abajo el control variable de
vapor. Las partículas más pequeñas
resultan ideales cuando se inhala vapor
por la nariz. Si desliza el control hacia
arriba, se formarán partículas grandes,
que resultan ideales cuando se inhala
por la boca.
NOTA: Al extender el tubo, también
disminuye la temperatura del vapor.
10)Verifique que el interruptor de encendido
se encuentre en posición de apagado.
Enchufe el cable de alimentación en el
tomacorriente principal.
11)Lleve el interruptor de encendido a la
posición de encendido (‘ON’).
12)Inicie su tratamiento.
13)El Vaporizador comenzará a despedir
vapor en aproximadamente
60 segundos. Una vez que el nivel de
vapor se haya debilitado
(aproximadamente 6-9 minutos), lleve el
interruptor de encendido (POWER) a la
posición ‘OFF’ y desenchufe el cable de
alimentación del tomacorriente.
¡IMPORTANTE!
El Vaporizador se apagará automáticamente
en caso de sobrecalentamiento. Cuando, y
si, esto sucediera, inmediatamente:
1) Lleve el interruptor de ENCENDIDO a la
posición de apagado (‘off’).
2) Desenchufe el cable de alimentación del
tomacorriente.
3) Deje enfriar el motor durante 30 minutos.
Antes de reiniciar la unidad, asegúrese de
que no estén obstruidos los venteos.
Después de Cada Uso
1) Desenchufe la unidad de la fuente de
alimentación.
2) Permita que la unidad se haya enfriado
completamente (aproximadamente
10 minutos).
3) Retire cuidadosamente el tanque de
drenaje/aromaterapia y vierta el agua que
pudiere haber quedado.
4) Siga los procedimientos de limpieza
indicados en esta guía detallada.
NOTA: Ocasionalmente puede obstruirse la
tobera que dirige el vapor al tubo de
extensión. Si el vaporizador comienza a
producir una cantidad de vapor
significativamente menor o no produce
vapor, será necesario limpiar la tobera. Para
tal fin, retire la cubierta del Vaporizador.
Tome con firmeza la tobera y hágala girar
en el sentido de las agujas del reloj para
retirarla, Fig. 7. Inserte una aguja fina o el
pasador que se encuentra debajo de la
parte inferior del Vaporizador en la tobera
para limpiar la vía de agua, Fig. 7. Para
volver a armar la tobera, alinee las
escuadras de la tobera con las ranuras, en
la base de la tobera. Haga girar en sentido
contrario a las agujas del reloj hasta que la
tobera se trabe en su lugar.
Solución de Problemas
Si detecta alguna anormalidad durante el
uso, revise y corrija lo siguiente:

Operación del Vaporizador
Siga las instrucciones de limpieza que se
indican en la sección ‘Técnica de
Limpieza’ de en esta guía detallada antes
de usar su Vaporizador por primera
vez o después de no haberlo usado durante
un período de tiempo prolongado.
RECUERDE: Siempre desenchufe el
Vaporizador y asegúrese de que el
interruptor de encendido (POWER) se
encuentre en posición de apagado (‘OFF’)
antes de efectuar la limpieza, el armado y
antes o después de cada uso.
1) Coloque el
Vaporizador a su
alcance, en una
superficie plana y
estable, con la
máscara hacia usted,

2) Levante suavemente
la cubierta del
Vaporizador para
retirar la tapa.
3) Retire la tapa del
tanque calentador de
agua haciéndola girar
en sentido contrario a
las agujas del reloj,

4) Utilizando la copa de
medición que viene
con el equipo, llene el
tanque calentador de
agua con
aproximadamente
25ml de agua de la
canilla, Fig. 5. Que el
agua no pase de los
cinco orificios
cuadrados de venteo
que se encuentran en
la pared del tanque.
NOTA: Sólo use agua
en el tanque
calentador.
5) Vuelva a colocar la
tapa y la cubierta.
6) Si lo desea, retire el tanque de
drenaje/aromaterapia de la unidad.
Llénelo con un máximo de 60 mL de
agua salina o de aromaterapia, Fig. 6.
ProcedimientosdeLimpieza
Técnica de Enjuagado
(Después de cada tratamiento):
1) Asegúrese de haber enfriado la unidad
(aproximadamente 10 minutos), de que
el interruptor de encendido (POWER)
esté en posición ‘OFF’ (Apagado) y de
que la unidad haya sido desconectada
de la fuente de alimentación.
2) Retire la cubierta del
cuerpo del
Vaporizador. Retire la
tapa del tanque
calentador de agua,

3) Retire con cuidado de
la unidad, el tanque de
drenaje/aromaterapia
de una pieza,
Fig. 2.
4) Lave el tanque de
drenaje/aromaterapia
con agua caliente.
5) Vacíe el agua que
pudiere haber
quedado en el tanque
calentador.
6) Seque con toallas limpias o deje secar
completamente al aire.
7) Vuelva a armar el Vaporizador y guárdelo
en un lugar frío y seco.
Técnica de Limpieza
(Después del último tratamiento del día o
antes de usarlo por primera vez):
1) Siga los pagos 1 al 5 indicados en
‘Técnica de Enjuagado.’
2) Lave el tanque de drenaje/aromaterapia,
la cubierta del tanque calentador de
agua, el tubo de extensión y la máscara
en agua caliente con detergente suave.
Enjuague bien y deje secar
completamente.
Limpieza del Vaporizador
NUNCA sumerja la unidad principal en
agua.
Limpie el Vaporizador con un paño suave y
levemente humedecido en agua.
