CUE number disp ay shows the number of the Cue that was ast
entered, Stored, or Reca ed and a so disp ays the names of
other stored va ues (Pre Ro , Loop ength, Auto Punch, Num-
bered ocates, or Last P ay position) during Reca .
RATES. Status LEDs show Samp e Rate (44.1, 48 or 96kHz), Bit
Depth (16 or 24 bits) Samp e C ock, and Time Code status
information.

TIME UNITS button togg es the Time Units between
SMPTE and BBT on the Remote 48 and MDR/
HDR24
/96
front pane s.
EDIT TIME ets you edit specifi c fi e ds within the
Locate Time disp ay. Pressing Edit Time once
se ects the Frames/Ticks fi e d, a second time
the Seconds/Beats fi e d, etc.
+NE T AND -PREV increment/decrement Locate
Time fi e d va ues in Edit Time operations, act
as math operators in time code ca cu ator oper-
ations, and ca up the next/previous Cue in
the Cue List in specifi c Reca and Store opera-
tions.
PAGE LEFT AND PAGE RIGHT buttons navigate between
different pages in the current LCD dispay
menu. Menus that contain more than one page
disp ay a ‘←’ or ‘→’ in the upper eft or upper
right corner to indicate which direction you can
page to fi nd more choices within that menu.
SELECT buttons are softkeys that se ect the func-
tion described direct y above them in the LCD
disp ay.
SYSTEM CONTROL BUTTONS a cce ss LCD d i sp ay me nus
such as the Track, Project, Backup, Disk Uti ,
System, Digi I/O, and Sync menus.
LOCATE causes the Transport to jump to the time
disp ayed in the Locate Time window. The Locate
LED ights whenever the recorder is Stopped at
the Locate Time.
NUMERIC KEYPAD enters time va ues or Cue
numbers into the Locate Time or Cue
disp ays.
CLEAR de etes the ast va ue entered into
the Locate Time or Cue number disp ay
by shifting a of the numbers right by one
character. Pressing C ear after the ast character
is de eted Cance s the operation and restores the
previous Locate Time va ue.
ENTER terminates the entry of a string of num-
bers when entering a time in the Locate Time
disp ay, and comp etes Time Entry, new Cue and
Cue Store operations.
STORE copies the va ue of the Locate Time or Tape
Time dispays into Cues, Numbered Locates,
Pre-Ro time, and Loop and Punch engths.

RECORD READY BUTTONS for tracks 1-48.
CAPTURE copies the instantaneous va ue of
Tape Time into the Locate Time.
TAPE TIME a ways shows the current position
of the MDR/HDR
/96
“p ay head” (Cur-
rent Time), and is the same as the Cur-
rent Time disp ays on the recorder front
pane s.
LOCATE TIME disp ays the time that the
Transport wi ocate to when the Locate
button is pressed, and acts as a scratchpad
or working disp ay from which you can
view stored time va ues, manua y enter
and Store specifi c times to these va ues, or
disp ay the resu t of time code addition/
subtraction operations.
JOG gives precise contro over Transport
cueing by p aying audio both forwards and
backwards at non rea -time speeds in pro-
portion to how the Whee is rotated. Jog
p ay speed varies continuous y between 0x
and 1x of norma p ay speed.
SHUTTLE a ows you to p ay audio both for-
wards and backwards at non rea -time
speeds in proportion to how far the Whee
is rotated. Shutt e p ay speed is quantized
to 1

AUTO TAKE automatica y increments the
active Virtua Take of a armed Tracks at
the beginning of each record pass.
JOG/SHUTTLE/DATA WHEEL is u sed for d at a en t r y
in certain Auto ocator operations, such as
scro ing through the Cue List or chang-
ing time va ues in edit time operations,
in addition to contro ing Jog and Shutt e
motion.
RECORD SAFE disarms a tracks and disab es
a recording contros. When enabed,
Record Safe prevents you from arming
tracks and entering record.
AUTO INPUT is used for recording, and affects
on y armed tracks. When Auto Input is
On, a armed tracks monitor their inputs
except in P ay, where tape p ayback is mon-
itored. When Off, armed tracks a ways
monitor their inputs.
ALL INPUT is most often used for rehearsa
and eve setting. When A Input is On,
both armed and unarmed tracks monitor
their inputs, and Auto Input has no effect.
When A Input is Off, output monitor-
ing is determined by Auto Input.
TRANSPORT CONTROLS: Rewind,
Fast FWD, Stop, P ay, Record.
NUMBERED LOCATE POINTS. sends the
Transports immediatey to the
time set for that point.
PUNCH automatica y punches into
Record at the punch in point, and
punches out of Record at the punch
out point.
REHEARSE a ow s you to pra ct ice pu nc hi n g
without recording anything to disk, and
automatica y stores the punch points to
the Auto Punch in and out points.
RECALL ca s up the time of stored va ues
into the Locate Time dispay (Cues,
Numbered Locates, Pre Ro time,
Loop and Punch Lengths, ast Pay
position).
PREROLL is the amount of time by which the
transport ocation is offset when jumping
to a Cue or LOC point.
LOOP repeats p ayback between Loop Start
and the Loop End points (Locates 1 and
2). Punch and Loop, and Auto Take can
be used together to ooped auto punch
operations.
