product.
You have chosen a modern Digital Camera with excellent
technical equipment and respective accessory, which is parti-
cularly easy to operate.
The device comes with a 3 year warranty. In case of a defect
in the Digital Camera, you require the enclosed warranty card
and proof of purchase. Keep these in a safe place.

These Operating Instructions belong to this Di-
gital Camera. It contains important information
about the start-up and handling.
Study these Operating Instructions and, in par-
ticular the Safety information in detail prior to
using the Digital Camera. Non-observance of
these Operating Instructions can lead to loss of
data or damage to the Digital Camera.
These Operating Instructions are based on
valid standards and regulations of the EU. Also
observe specific guidelines and laws in other
countries!
Keep Operating Instructions for further use.
When passing on the Digital Camera to third
parties please also include these Operating
Instructions.

The following symbols and signal words are used in these
Operating Instructions, on the device or on the packaging.

Safety
Correct use
The Underwater Digital Camera is solely designed to be used
as a Camera. It is only suitable for private and not or commer-
cial use.
For ease of understanding, the “Underwater Digital Came-
ra” is just referred to as Digital Camera in these Operating
Instructions.
Only use the Digital Camera as described in the operating
instructions. Any other use is deemed to be incorrect and can
cause material damage and loss of data.
The manufacturers or dealers do not accept any liability for
damage resulting from improper or incorrect use.
Safety information
WARNING!
Electrocution hazard!
Faulty electrical installations or excessive mains
voltage can cause electrocution.
− Do not operate the Digital Camera in case of visible dama-
ge or if the USB cable or connector is defective.
− Damaged USB cables of the Digital Camera must be repla-
ced by the manufacturer or customer service or a similar
qualified person.
− Do not open housing but have repair carried out by an
expert. Contact a specialist workshop. All liability and
warranty claims shall be void in case of repairs carried out
by users, incorrect connection or improper use.
− The Digital Camera may not be operated with an external
timer or separate remote control system.
− Never immerse USB cable or plug in water or other fluids.
− Keep Digital Camera, and accessories away from open
flames and hot surfaces.
− Install USB cable in such a way that it does not become a
trip hazard.
− Do not kink USB cable and do not install it over sharp edges.
− Never store the Digital Camera in such a way that it can fall
into a trough or wash basin.
−Keep batteries away from children and pets.
−Insert the batteries observing the proper polarity (+/-).
Failure to properly align the battery polarity can cause
personal injury and/or property damage.
−Remove old or discharged batteries from the product.
−Remove the batteries when the product will not be used
for extended periods of time to prevent damage due to
rusted or corroded batteries.
−Never throw batteries into a fire, do not expose batteries
to fire or other heat sources.
−Battery Disposal: Old or discharged batteries must be
properly disposed of and recycled in compliance with all
applicable laws. For detailed information, contact your
local solid waste authority.
−Keep children away from batteries. If you suspect a battery
has been swallowed, seek immediate medical assistance.
−Follow the battery manufacturer’s safety, usage, and
disposal instructions.

− When not using or cleaning the Digital Camera or in case
of a fault, always switch off the Digital Camera and remove
the batteries.
− Keep children under the age of eight away from the Digital
Camera and the accessories.
− Ensure that children do not push objects into the Digital
Camera.

− Never place Digital Camera on or near hot surfaces (e.g.
stove tops, etc.).
Note!
Danger of material damage!
Incorrect use of the Digital Camera can cause
the Digital Camera to be damaged.
− Ensure that mains cable does not come into contact with
hot parts.
− Never expose Digital Camera to excessive temperatures
(heating, etc.). Never pour liquid into Digital Camera.
− When cleaning, never immerse Digital Camera in water
and do not use steam cleaner. The Digital Camera could
otherwise be damaged.
− Do not use Digital Camera if plastic or metal parts of it
show cracks or tears or are deformed. Replace damaged
parts only with original spare parts.
− Damage to the electronics, lens or accessory caused by
external influences such as impacts, falls or others are not
covered by the warranty and are chargeable.
− The Digital Camera is waterproof up to a depth of 9.8 ft.
(3m), so it can also be used outdoors.

Preparation
If necessary, remove the protective foils from the colour mo-
nitors and the lens, and attach the carry strap.
The included carry strap is attached to the corresponding
bracket on the side of the camera. First, pull the short loop of
the strap through the eyelet and then the band through the
loop.
At the bottom side of the camera there is a compartment to
insert the batteries and the memory card. Open the compart-
ment by holding the lock button to the side and then sliding
the cover outwards. The cover will then open automatically.

Inserting the batteries
− Open the battery compartment as described above.
− Insert the 2 Activ Energy batteries included or 2 batteries
type LR03 (AAA). Pay attention to the correct polarity of the
batteries as indicated on the contacts inside the battery
compartment cover.
− After inserting the batteries, slide the cover towards the
tripod thread with gentle pressure.The cover will lock into
place and close tightly.
NOTE!
−Check your batteries regularly. Old or
discharged batteries should be replaced.
−When planning not to use this Camera for
long periods of time remove the batteries
from the camera to avoid leakage.
Inserting the memory card
− First turn off the camera and then open the battery com-
partment as previously described.
− The memory card (microSD/ SDHC card) is inserted into
the small compartment next to the batteries. Slide in the
memory card into the card slot with the gold pins first
and facing the rear monitor until it clicks in place. Do not
forcefully insert the card, since this coulddamage the card
and the card slot.
• Make sure to format the memory card with the camera
before you use it for the first time. Read the next section
regarding the formatting of the memory card.
− After inserting the batteries, shut the cover and slide it
towards the tripod thread with gentle pressure. The cover
will lock into place and close tightly.
NOTE!
To avoid damage to the memory card, turn the
camera off before inserting or removing theme-
mory card. If you insert or remove the microSD/
SDHC memory card while the camera is turned
on, it will switch off automatically.

Formatting the memory card
This function will format the memory card, erasing all images
and data contained.
NOTE!
−Please keep in mind: Formatting irreversibly
deletes all pictures and video clips on the
microSD/ SDHC memory card!
−Therefore, transfer important data on to a
computer before the memory card is being
formatted.
− Press the button Menu [9] in the photo or video mode.
− Select the Setup menu [ ] by pressing the button .
− Select the „Format“ option with the keys / and press
the Shutter button[ /] to confirm your selection.
− Select „Yes“ and confirm your selection with the shutter
button[ /].
Camera settings
All menu settings can only be performed when the rear mo-
nitor is activated. If the front monitor is activated no setting
adjustments can be performed.
Photo mode
In the Settings menu of the photo mode, the settings for ta-
king photos can be made.
− Press the M(mode) button and select the picture mode [ ].
− Press the button Menu [9] to access the settings menu.
− In the photo menu [ ] select the desired option with the
/ buttons and press the shutter button to enter the
submenu.
−Select the desired option with the / buttons and press
the shutter button to confirm the selection.
−Press the button [9] to exit the menu. To exit a submenu
without making a change, also press the button [9].
NOTE!
−The currently selected item is highlighted in
green.
−The current setting of each option is marked
with a check mark.
−All menu settings are retained after turning
off the camera.

In the following list the factory setting values are highlighted
with a „star“ [*].
Resolution
This option sets the resolution of the photo to be recorded.
• 14M (4320 x 3240), 8M* (3264 x 2448), 5M (2592 x 1944), 3M
(2048 x 1536),VGA (640 x 480)
Quality
Here, the quality (compression) is set under which the acqui-
red pictures will be saved.
• Super Fine/ Fine*/ Normal
Metering
Here, the measuring method for calculating the exposure is
determined.
• Center: Uses the average light metered from the entire
frame, but places a higher emphasis on objects located in
the middle.
• Multi*: Exposure is measured in the entire image area.
• Spot: A very small area in the centre of the image is
measured in order to calculate the correct value for the
exposure.
White Balance
Here, the white balance for the shooting of photos is defined
for different lighting conditions. Hereby, the colour scheme
perceived by the human eye will be equalized.
• Auto*/ Daylight/ Cloudy/ Tungsten/ Fluorescent
ISO
This sets the light sensitivity for recording photos. If the sen-
sitivity is increased (and the ISO figure is increased), photo-
graphy will become possible even in dark locations, but the
picture will then appear more grainy (noisy).
• Autom.*/ ISO 100/ ISO 200/ ISO 400/ ISO 800
Exposure
With the help of the exposure compensation, the exposure
value can be set manually from - 2.0 EV to + 2.0 EV. The higher
this value, the brighter pictures will be.
• +2.0 / +1.7 / +1.3 / +1.0 / +0.7 / +0.3 / +0.0* / -0.3 / -0.7 /
-1.0 / -1.3 / -1.7 / -2.0
Selftimer
With the selftimer function photo shots can be made with a
delay of 10 seconds after the shutter button has been actua-
ted. When the shutter button is pressed during the selftimer
recording, the selftimer LED above the lens will start to blink.
It will blink faster during the last 2 seconds before recording
the photo. In addition, the 10 seconds are counted down on
the monitor.

Sharpness
Here, the image focus is set by adjusting the edge sharpness
for the recordings.
• Hard/ Normal*/ SoftEffect
Here, an effect can be set for the recordings.

Date Stamp
The date of recording can be printed directly onto the images.
This feature must be activated before taking a picture.

This setting determines whether a a picture is briefly previe-
wed on the monitor immediately after it is recorded.

In the setup menu the basic settings of your camera can be
set.
− Press the button Menu [9] in the photo mode [ ] or
video mode [ ] to access the settings menu.
− Select the Setup menu [ ] by pressing the button .
− In the Setup menu [ ] select the desired option with the
/ buttons and press the shutter button to enter the
submenu.
− Select the desired option with the / buttons and press
the shutter button to confirm the selection.
− Press the button Menu [9to exit the menu.
− To exit a submenu without making a change, press the
button [9].

Sounds
Here you can specify whether the camera should sound a
tone when it is switched on and each time you press a button.

Light Frequency
The camera supports the lighting frequencies of 50 Hz and 60
Hz. When photographing under fluorescent lighting, select
the correct frequency setting, according to the voltage used
in your local area. This feature will only be active if you set
„Fluorescent” in the white balance menu.

Power Save
If no buttons are pressed for a time period which can be de-
termined here, the camera will shut off automatically. This
function is used to conserve battery power.

Language
Here, you can specify the language which will be displayed in
the menus and messages on the LCD screen. You can choose
from 7 languages.

Date & Time
Here you can set the date and time. Use the buttons /
to select the value to be changed. Use the buttons / to
change the values. Subsequently, save the setting with the
shutter button.

Read the “formatting the memory card” (page 16) for further
details.

Reset All
Here, all values of the camera are reset to the default (*).
• Yes/ No*
Version
Here, the firmware version of the camera is displayed.
Using the camera
Taking photos
The camera is equipped with a 2.7“ colour LCD TFT screen on
the back that enables you to perform settings for pictures,
playback recorded pictures or video clips or adjust menu
settings.
− Press the ON/OFF button to turn on the camera. The came-
ra will automatically be in the photo mode [ ].
− Use the macro button to correctly adjust the distance to the
object being photographed. Select the flower symbol [O]
when you want to make a close up photograph (11 cm -18
cm). If you want to record a video or photo of the surroun-
dings or people from a distance of more than 0.5 meters,
set the macro switch to normal mode [N].
− If you are unsure whether the illumination is sufficient
switch on the automatic flash [b] using the flash button.
The flash will not fire if the battery is too weak.
NOTE!
−Please note that a motion blur can occur in
low light conditions or during flashphoto-
graphy. Be sure to keep the camera steady or
use a tripod.
−The picture may be distorted if, for example,
the photo is shot from within a fast moving
vehicle.

− Arrange the picture on the rear monitor. This camera is
equipped with an 4x digital zoom. With the zoom button,
you able to bring objects closer to you.
• Press the zoom button “T” to zoom closer to the object
and to enlarge the image.
• Press the zoom button “W” to zoom away from the
object and display and display an image with a wider
viewing angle.
− Press the shutter button and wait until the LCD display is
reactivated.
Self photography with the small monitor
If you want to take a picture of yourself, you can simply use
the monitor on the front. Perform the following steps:
− Press the LCD button to switch to the front monitor.
− Use the front monitor as a viewfinder in order to see for
yourself.
− Press the shutter button to take your photo.
Selftimer
You can use the selftimer for self portraits or shots without a
flash. Please use a tripod for this.
− To set the selftimer, proceed as described on page 25.
− Arrange your photo with the help of the LCD monitor.
− Press the shutter button to take the photo.
− When the shutter button is pressed the selftimer LED abo-
ve the lens will start to blink. It will blink faster during the
last 2 seconds before recording the photo.
Playback of the photos
The camera offers two options for playback: Single picture
and preview.
− Press the [7] button to access the playback mode.
− The last picture or video clip will be displayed. Press the
/ buttons to individually scroll through the pictures.
During single image playback, press the “W” to open the
preview mode. Press / / / to select the photo you
want and press the shutter button to display it.
− In full screen mode, press the “T” button to enlarge the
image display. Use the buttons “M“ (mode) / Menu [9]
/ / to move the magnified section of the picture. By
pressing the “W” button you are able to return to the
normal size.
− To start a slide show, in the playback mode press and hold
the Menu [9] button until the playback menu appears.
Select “Slide Show“ and select the desired time interval and a
transition type between two pictures. The option “Start“ exe-
cutes the slide show.
− To change the colour effect of a photo, in the playback
mode press and hold the Menu [9] button until the play-
back menu appears. Select the “Photo effect“ and press the
shutter button. Select the desired effect by pressing /
and confirm the selection by pressing the shutter button.
The picture will be saved separately.

Recording video clips
In video mode, short video clips with a resolution of 640 x 480
or 320 x 240 pixels can be recorded.
− Press the M(mode) button and select the video mode [ ].
− Press the shutter button to start the video recording, and
press the shutter button again to stop recording. During vi-
deo recording press the button [7] to pause the recording.
− To set the resolution proceed as described on page 26.
Playback of video clips
− Press the [7] button to access the playback mode.
− The last picture or video clip will be displayed. Press the /
buttons to scroll through the clips.
− To play a video clip press the “T”button.
− Press the button to fast forward and the button for
a quick backward. By pressing “T“ the playback can be
paused and and started again.
− Press the “M” (mode) button to exit the video playback.
Protecting photos and videos
You can protect photos and videos on the memory card from
accidental deletion.
− Press the [7] button to access the playback mode.
− Press / , to select the photos/videos you want to protect.
− Press and hold the button Menu [9] until the menu op-
tions are displayed. Select “Protect“ and press the shutter
button.
− Select „Single“ or „Protect All“ and press the shutter button.
Changing the size of the photos
A recorded photograph can be downsized and stored sepa-
rately. Follow the instructions below for changing the size of
a photo.
− Press the [7] button to access the playback mode.
− The last picture or video clip will be displayed. Press / ,
to select the photos for which you want to change the size.
− Press and hold the button Menu [9] until the menu
options are displayed. Select “resize“ and press the shutter
button.
− Select the new size and press the shutter button to con-
firm. The photo will be saved separately.
Deleting photos and videos
You can protect photos and videos on the memory card from
accidental deletion.
− Press the [7] button to access the playback mode.
− Press / , to select the photos/videos to be deleted.
− Press the Menu [9] and select „All“ to delete all pictures
and videos, or “Single“ to delete the selected photo or video.
− Press the shutter button
− Press the Menu [9] to complete the process.
NOTE!
Pictures that are protected can not be deleted this
way. Before these photos can be deleted the de-
letion protection must be removed (see previous
section)

Connecting to a Computer
The camera can be connected to a computer as a mass stora-
ge device via the USB port. This way, photos and videos can
be transferred to the computer.
− Connect the camera to your computer using the USB cable.
− Turn the camera on. The camera will be supplied with
power through the USB connection.
− The camera will install itself on the computer as an additio-
nal drive called „Removable Disk“.
− If you double click on this drive, you can copy or move the
photo and video files to a folder on your computer.

Installing the software
The enclosed CD ROM contains the following software for
Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8:
MAGIX Photo Manager 10™ - A program for quick archiving
and for editing and reproducing photos on your computer.
MAGIX Video Easy SE™ - This software makes it easy to cut
and edit videos, as well as creating video CDs and DVDs.
NOTE!
− Before installing the included software, plea-
se perform a data backup. The manufacturer
is not liable for data loss.
− To transfer stored media, the camera can
be connected to the computer without the
installation of the software.
1. Insert the CD ROM supplied with the camera into the CD/
DVD drive of your computer. You will see a welcome screen.
2. Click on the name of the desired software. Follow the on
screen instructions to complete the installation.
For more information on how to use the software, see the
appropriate Help function of the program. If you are using
Windows® XP, Vista, 7 or 8, install and use the software in the
„administrator“ mode. If installation of the CD does not start
