Description
This manual and any markings on the meter provides information for
avoiding hazards and unsafe practices related to the use of this meter.
Read all of the safety information provided.
Safety
The MT400 tests for energised ciruits and defective grounds, whether it’s
for electricians, maintenance, service, safety personnel or the DIYers
around the house. The tip of the pocket-sized tester will glow red when in
close proximity of an outlet, terminal strip, or power cord where voltage is
present.

Failure to adhere to these warnings on how to safely operate this meter

or have contact with live circuits can result in severe injury or death.
Do not use the meter if it is wet or damaged.

Operation
1. Test the meter on known functioning circuits or components.
• If the meter does not function as expected on a known functioning
circuit, replace the batteries.
• If the meter still does not function as expected, send the unit to
repair.
2. Place the probe tip on or near the circuit or unit to be tested. LED
indicates the presence of voltage (230V AC).
Battery Replacement
1. Disconnect the unit from the circuit.
2. Remove the battery compartment cover.
3. Replace the batteries (observe polarity).
4. Replace the battery compartment cove.
Caution
Do not attempt to repair this unit. It contains no user-serviceable parts.

Do not expose the meter to extremely high temperature or humidity.

Failure to observe these precautions can result in injury and can damage

the meter.
This must be proven on a known live source before and after testing. An

Absence of voltage detection does not mean the circuit under test is
dead.
This meter cannot detect voltage on armored cable or on cable in

conduit, behind panels, or in metallic enclosures.
