1. SafetyInstruction
Abstract
Thischaptermainlyintroducethesafetymarksandnotesof1KVA‐3KVAseries
on‐lineUPS.Readthischaptercarefullybeforeoperatingontheequipment.
1.1. SafetyInstruction
ThereisdangerousvoltageandhightemperatureinsidetheUPS.Duringthe
installation,operationandmaintenance,pleaseabidethelocalsafetyinstructionsand
relativelaws,otherwiseitwillresultinpersonnelinjuryorequipmentdamage.Safety
instructionsinthismanualactasasupplementaryforthelocalsafetyinstructions.
Ourcompanywillnotassumetheliabilitythatcausedbydisobeyofsafetyinstructions.
Pleasenotethefollowing:
1. Don'tusetheUPSwhentheactualloadexceedstheratedload.
2. Therearehigh‐capacitybatteriesinthestandardtypeUPS.Youmustn'topenthe
enclosureoritwillleadtoelectricshock.Ifitneedsinternalmaintenanceorbattery
replacement,pleasesendittothedesignatedsite.
3. Internalshort‐circuitoftheUPSwillcauseelectricshockorfire.Sodon'tplace
thecontainersequippedwithliquidonthetopoftheUPSsoasnottocausedangerof
electricshockandsoon.
4. Don'tputtheUPSinaplacewithhightemperatureorhumidityaswellasthe
corrosivegas,muchdust.
5. Keepgoodaircirculationbetweenin‐ventonfrontpanelandout‐ventonback
panel.
6. Avoiddirectsunlightornearheat‐dispensedobjects.
7. IncasethatthesmokeappearsontheUPS,pleasecutoffthepower as
soonaspossibleandcontactthedealerservicesite.

3. Installation
3.1. UnpackingandInspection
1. Unpacking the UPS and check that whether it's damaged during the
transportation. If damaged or some parts missing, don't start the machine and
informthecarrierandfranchiser.
2. Checktheannex(pleaseconsultAppendixTable1).
3. Checkiftheequipmentisjustwhatyouwantedtopurchase.Youcanaffirm
throughinspectingthemodelnumberonbackpaneloftheequipment.
NOTES:
1. PleaseplacetheUPSinaclean,stableenvironment,avoidthevibration,dust,
toohumidity,flammablegasandliquid,corrosive.
2. TheambienttemperaturearoundUPSshouldkeepinarangeof0~40.If
UPSworksabove40,itisrequiredthattheratedvalueofthelargestload
decreases12%whilethetemperatureincreasesevery5.Thehighest
temperaturecannotbemorethan50whenUPSworks.
3. UPSshouldbeplacedinasufficientlyventilatedplace.

Beforeinstallingbattery,makesurethatUPSandbreakerareallturnedoff.Remove
allyourmetallicadornmentsuchasfingerring,watch,andsoonbeforeconnecting
battery.
Noanti‐connectionorshortcircuitbetweenthebatteryanodeandcathodeforever.
Redcableconnectwithbatteryanode“+”andblackcableconnectwithcathode“‐”.
Pleaseusethescrewdriverwithinsulatinghandle.Donotlaythetoolsor
metallicgoodsonthebattery.
NOTICE:
Whenusingtheexternalbattery,Itisbesttouseexternalbatterycablewhich
matcheswiththeequipment.
WhenconnectingloadtoUPS,firstturnoffloadandthenconnectthepowercable
andfinallyturnonloadone‐by‐one.
Inductance loads such as motor, fluorescent lamp, photocopier are strictly
prohibitedconnectingtoUPStoavoiddamage.
PlugUPSonthespecialsocketwithover‐currentprotection,thepowersocketthat
usedshouldbeconnectedwithgroundwire.
UPSislikelytohaveoutputvoltagenomatterwhetherthepowerinputcableis
pluggedinmainsinputsocket.IfyouwishUPShavenooutput,firstbreakoffthe
switchandthencancelthemains.
Whenconnectlaserprinter,selectthecapacityofUPSaccordingtotheUPS
startpowerbecausethestartuppowerishigher.

AfterstartingtheUPS,thefourLEDswilllightandgooutone‐by‐one.It
circulatesseveraltimesuntilstartingtheUPS
successful.

AstotheLEDindicationindifferentmodes,pleaserefertotheLEDdisplaypanel
andwarningtable.
4.1.3. LCDDisplayFunctions
LCD display comprises numerical value section, capacity graphics section, fan‐
status graphics section and charger‐status graphics section. Numerical value
section-display the corresponding numerical value of inquiring items(output,
load,temperature,input,battery),forexample,asthegraphicsshowsabove,the

outputvoltageis220v,theoutputfrequencyis50Hz.Capacitygraphics
section-displaythecapacityofthebatteryandload.Everypanerepresents
20%capacity. As graphics showed above, the capacity of the batteryis80%‐
100%(5panes),theloadreaches40%‐60%(3panes).WhenUPSisoverload,
theiconwillflash,whencapacityofbatteryistoolowordisconnected,theicon
willalsoflash.
Fan‐status graphics section-displayifthefanworksnormally.Whenthefan
works normally, it will show the dynamic fan blades rotating; when the fan
works abnormally, the icon will keep on flashing with the warning.Charger‐
statusgraphicssection-displaythestatusofthecharger.Whenchargerworks
normally, the corresponding icon will vary dynamically and orderly, just as

WhenUPSisinbatterymode,thenumberoftheiconsofthecharger‐statesectionwill
varyaccordingtothechangeablecapacityofthebattery(pane).Forexample,there
arefivepanesinFig.A,(astherightpictureoftheGraphics(3)shows),sothe
correspondingnumberoficonsisfiverows(astheleftpictureoftheGraphics(3)
shows),followedbythisrule.
4.2. Operation
4.2.1. StartupOperation
TurnontheUPSinLineMode
1. Oncemainspowerispluggedin,theUPSwillchargethebattery,atthemoment,
LCD shows that the output voltage is 0, which means UPS has no output. If it is
expectedtohaveoutputofbypass,youcansetthebps“ON”byLCDsettingmenu.
2. PressandholdtheONkeyformorethanhalfasecondtostarttheUPS,thenitwill
starttheinverter.
3. Oncestarted, the UPS will perform a self‐test function,LED will light and goout
circularly and orderly. When self‐test finishes, it will come to line mode, the
correspondingLEDlights,UPSisworkinginlinemode.
TurnontheUPSbyDCWithoutMainsPower
1. Whenmainspowerisdisconnected,pressandholdtheONkeyformorethanhalfa
secondtostartUPS.
2. TheoperationofUPSintheprocessofstartisalmostthesameasthatwhenmains
powerisin.Afterfinishingtheself‐test,thecorrespondingLEDlightsandUPSis
workinginbatterymode.
4.2.2. TurnoffOperation
TurnofftheUPSinlinemode
1. PressandholdtheOFFkeyformorethanhalfasecondtoturnofftheUPSand
inverter.
2. AfterUPSshuttingdown,LEDgooutandthereisnooutput.Ifoutputisneeded,
youcansetbps“ON”onLCDsettingmenu.

TurnOfftheUPSbyDCWithoutMains
1. PressandholdtheOFFkeyformorethanhalfasecondtoturnofftheUPS.
2. WhenturningofftheUPS,itwilldoself‐testingfirstly.LEDlightandgooutcircularly
andorderlyuntilthereisnodisplayonthepanel.
4.2.3. UPSSelf‐Test/MuteTestOperation
1. WhenUPSisinlinemode,pressandholdtheself‐test/mutekeyformorethan1
second,LEDslightandgooutcircularlyandorderly.UPScomestoself‐testmodeand
testsitsstatus.Itwillexitautomaticallyafterfinishingtesting,LEDresume.
2. WhenUPSisinbatterymode,pressandholdtheself‐test/mutekeyformorethan1
second,thebuzzerstopsbeeping.Ifyoupressandholdtheself‐test/mutekeyforone
moresecond,itwillrestarttobeepagain.
4.3. ParameterSetting
UPS has setting function. It can run the setting on any mode. Aftersetting,itwill
becomeeffectiveatoncewhenmeetssomestandards.Thesetinformationcanbesaved
onlywhen the batteryconnected and normally turningoffthe UPS. The operation of
settingisasfollowing:
4.3.1. BypassModeSetting/OutputVoltageSetting
1. Enterthesettinginterface.Pressandholdthe
function setting key for more than 2 seconds,
thencometosettinginterface,Pressandholdthe
functionsettingkeyformorethanhalfasecond
(lessthan2seconds),selectthefunctionsetting,
choosethebypassoutput,Outputvoltagesetting
interface,atthemoment,theletters“bPS”
“OPU”willflashasfollowing:

holdthefunctionsettingkeyformorethanhalfa
second(lessthan2seconds),thencometosetting
interface of bPS, at this time, the letters “bPS”
/”OPU”willlightforalongtime.The“ON”(orOFF)
ornumericalvaluebelowtheBps/OPUwillflash.
Pressandholdtheinquiringkeyormorethan
half a second(less than 2 seconds) to determine
whether the bPS function is used or not. If
used,the corresponding word is “ON”, if not, the
wordis“OFF”,Itcanbedeterminedbyyourself.
Pressandholdtheinquiringkeyormorethan
halfasecond(lessthan2seconds),selectthe
numerical value in accordance with “OPU”
function. The provided voltages are 208v, 220v,
230v, 240,you can choose anyone by yourself
(Thedefaultis220v)
3. ConfirmtheBypassoutput/outputvoltageselectinginterface.Afterselecting
ONorOFFornumericalvalue,pressandholdthefunctionsettingkeyformore
thanhalfasecond(lessthan2seconds).Now,thebPS/OPUsetting function is
completed and The “ON”(or OFF) or numerical value below the Bps/OPU will
lightwithoutflash.
4. Exitfromthesettinginterface.Pressandholdfunctionsettingkeyformore
thanhalfasecond(lessthan2seconds),exitfromthesettinginterfaceand
returntomaininterface.
NOTE:
Whensettingtheoutputvoltage,you'dbettercutofftheloadoftheUPSfirst.
4.4. ParametersInquiring
Pressandholdtheinquiringkeyorormorethanhalfasecond(lessthan2seconds)to
inquireaboutitems.Theinquireditemsincludeinput,battery,output,load,
temperature.
Pressandholdtheinquiringkeyformorethan2seconds,LCDbeginstodisplaythe
itemscircularlyandorderlywhichtransfertoanotherevery2seconds.Pressandhold
thekeyforsometimeagain,itwillreturntooutputstatus.

isonwhenbeeping,LCDdisplaysareaccordingtotheexactloadandbatterycapacity.
Turntobypassmodeunderthefollowingtwoconditions:
1. TurnofftheUPSinlinemodewhilestartthebypassoutput.
2. Overloadinlinemode.
NOTE:
WhenUPSisworkinginbypassmode,ithasnobackupfunction.
4.5.2. LineMode
LEDindicationsonfrontpanelinlinemodeareasfollowing:TheinvertergreenLEDis
on.
WheninputACmainsisinlinewiththeworkingconditions,UPSwillworkinline
mode.
4.5.3. BatteryMode
LED indications on front panel in battery mode are as following:boththeinverter
greenLEDandbatteryyellowLEDareon,thebuzzerbeepsonceevery4seconds.The
warningredLEDisonwhenbeeping.
Whenthemainspowerdownorinstable,UPSwillturntobatterymodeatonce.

4.5.4. FaultMode
LEDindicationsonfrontpanelinfaultmodeareasfollowing:warningredLEDison
Faultmode(LCDinterfaceonwhichthefaultcodedisplay)
WhenUPShasfault.ThewarningLEDisonandthebuzzerbeeps.UPSwillturntofault
mode.UPScutsofftheoutputand LCD display fault codes. At themoment,youcan
pressthemutekeytomakethebuzzerstopbeepingtemporarilyto wait for
maintenance.YoucanalsopresstheOFFkeytoshutdowntheUPSwhenconfirmthat
thereisnoseriousfault.
NOTE:
Asforcorrespondinginformationofthefaultcode,pleaserefertoFaultCode
informationTableinAppendix.
NOTICE:
ThefollowingprocessmustbeperformedifUPSisconnectedwithgenerator:
Firstturnongenerator,afteritrunsstablyconnectoutputpowerofgenerator
toUPSinputterminal,thenturnonUPS.AfterUPSturnedon,pleaseconnect
loadone‐by‐one.
ItisrecommendedthatthegeneratorcapacityisastwiceasUPS rated
capacity
You'dbetternotusetheECOmodewhenthequalityoftheinputACmainsis
notgood

5. Maintenance
OnlyminimummaintenanceisrequiredforthisseriesofUPS.Thebatteryissealedlead
acid maintenance free. It only needs to be kept charging to obtain the expected life.
Whether it is started or not, the UPS would charge batteries onceitisconnectedto
mainsandprovideprotectionforover‐charginganddeepdischarging.
5.1. BatteryMaintenance
1. Itisrecommendedthatthebatteriesaremanuallychargedordischargedonceevery
threeorfourmonthsifUPShasnotbeenusedforalongtimeorthepowerislong‐term
uninterruptible.Thebatterywillbefullydischargetolow‐voltageprotectionshutdown.
Thenitneedstobefullychargedonce.
2. Inhightemperaturearea,batteriesshouldbemanuallychargedanddischarged
onceeverytwomonths.Theprocessisthesameasthatsaidabove.
3. Undernormalcircumstancesofusing,thebatteryworkinglifeisthreetofiveyears.
Ifyoufindthatthebatterydonotactwellsuchasobviouslyshorteningofbackuptime,
toomuchimbalanceonbatteryvoltagesoon,thebatteryshouldbereplacedassoonas
possible,whichmustbeperformedbyqualifiedpersonnel.
4. Whenreplacebattery,itisrecommendedtochangebatteryalltogetherinsteadof
changingseparately.
NOTICE:
Before replacing batteries, first please turn off the UPS and breakoffthemains.
Removeyourmetallicadornmentsuchasfingerring,watchandsoon.
Whenreplacebatteries,pleaseusethescrewdriverwithinsulatinghandle.Donot
laythetoolsormetallicgoodsonthebattery.
Neverreverseorshortcircuitbetweenthebatteryanodeandcathode.
