Looking after your Zensling:
• Wearing your baby is a very ancient and natural way. At Mamaruga
we believe in our ancients heritage.
• Mamaruga only use fabrics that are non toxic and safe for babies.
• Please follow the instructions on the label.
• We recommend that to use liquid detergent. Do not use a fabric
softener as this causes the buckles to become slippy and in time will
weaken the threads of the fabric.
• 96% cotton, 4% lycra, polyester padding.

Safety instructions:
• Only use this carrier for children between 3 kg (6.6 lb) -20 kg (44.09 lb)
• For low birthweight babies and children with medical conditions, seek advice from a health
professional before using the product.
• Recomend to use from newborn till ’knee to knee’ position.
• Do not use this carrier with babies smaller than 3 kg (6,6 lb).
• Your balance may be adversely affected by your movement and that of your child.
• Take care when bending or leaning forward or sideways.
• This carrier is not suitable to use during sporting activities.
• Never use your carrier during any risky activities, eating hot food.
• When you are wearing your baby, please use your common sense at all times.
• Never use a carrier with any sign of defects or damage.
• Always check to ensure that all knots and adjustments are secure.
• There must be at least 5cm length of webbing either side of the buckle clip after tightening
it.
• Ask someone to assist you at all times until you are condent in tting the carrier with your
baby.
• Always make sure your baby’s position is safe and correct by following the user manual
guide.
• Always make sure the baby’s face is clear from obstruction. Beaware at all times of your
baby’s breathing.
• Check your baby regularly in the carrier (safety and correct position).
• DO NOT use the carrier in an outward facing position.
• Never place more than one baby in your carrier at a time.
• Never leave a baby or child unattended with the carrier.
• Front and side carry recommended from newborn (3kg+)
• Back carry recommended from 6 months.
• Mamaruga recommends that you always follow the TICKS Rule for Safe Babywearing.

Setting up your Zensling
Zensling
Bring the waist band
in to narrow the seat.
Shorten the carrier
using the adjusters at
the bottom, this is to
get a fit good at around
baby’s legs.
Reduce the height
of the carriers so
that the top sits at
the nape of baby’s
neck.
Lay the carrier on a
flat and safe surface
then
place baby in the
middle of the carrier.

Front carry
Take the waist
band around your
waist, non-apron
style and clip at
the back.
Pull the straps to
tighten.
In turn, place the
shoulder straps
over each shoulder,
keep supporting
baby throughout.
Reach behind and
with your hand,
grab the strap
from the opposite
shoulder. First pull
the strap down and
then pull across
your back.
Bring the strap to
the buckle and clip
into place.
Position baby with their
bum resting where the
panel of the carrier meets
the waist band. Make sure
that they are in a deep
seated squat with the knees
high and bottom low.
From the bottom up,
smooth the panel up baby’s
back, ensure that you keep
one hand on baby at all
times
Using the dual adjustable
tightening system, make
the strap secure by pulling
in both directions.

7Repeat the steps
on the opposite
side.
Baby should be
high, with their
head resting on your
chest, away from
any obstruction
and their face
visible at all times.
Spread the shoulder
straps for comfort
and support.
The hood can be tied
up at one side using the
cord onto the elastic
strap. Use the hood
to cover the back of
baby’s head and never
the face. The hood
can also be rolled to
create a cushion behind
baby’s head.

Now you can make any
minor adjustments to the
height of the panel using the
adjustable straps at the top
of the body of the carrier.
The top of the panel should
be in line with the nape of
baby’s neck. You can remove
any excess slack from the
shoulder straps by lifting
and tightening at the buckle.
To get baby out, support
baby at all times and
unclip the buckles at
the side.
Place baby somewhere
safe.

Getting the baby down
Ensure that baby is in a
deep seated squat, with
their knees high and their
bottom low, by doing a
hip tuck. By tightening
the adjustable straps at
the bottom of the panel,
you can ensure that baby
is well supported in a
deep seated squat.

Back carry
Hold the top of the other
shoulder strap as close to the
top of the panel and to your
body, as possible. Grasp the
waist band and scoot baby
on to your back.
Ensure that you keep
tightening the other
shoulder strap as you go, as
it will become loose as baby
moves around your body.

Set up your carrier so
that your straps are
clipped together, the
one that will travel
across your back will
be slightly longer.
Set up your
carrier by
following step
1 in front carry
on page 3.
Position the carrier on
your hip and seat baby
with their bottom
resting on the top of
the waist band. Ensure
that they are in a deep
seated squat position
with the knees higher
than the bum.
Ensure that you support
baby at all times and
spread the panel up baby’s
back. Smooth the fabric
up from the bottom to the
top. Take the strap closest
to your body, this should
also be the longest strap,
and take it under your arm
and across your back to
your opposite arm.
Take the strap
across your back.
Thread the strap
over your arm and
onto your shoulder,
tighten this strap
to remove as much
slack as possible.
Put your arm into
the other shoulder
strap. Hold both
straps together to
hold baby securely
against your back.

Back carry
Clip the chest strap
in place, this is not
weight bearing and
is needed to avoid
the straps from
slipping off your
shoulders.
Take out your arm
from the other
shoulder strap and
bring baby onto
your hip.
Bring baby round
to you front
supporting them
in arms.
One at a time, tighten
the straps using
the dual adjustable
tightening system.
Lift the strap over
your shoulder and
away from your body
to remove any excess
before you tighten.
Check knee-to-
knee position.
Correct if necessary
by increasing/
decreasing the
gather at waist belt.
Pull upwards on the
side adjustments to
lift the knees higher
if needed.
Slowly scoot
baby towards
the opposite hip.
Keep going with
this method, always
keeping one hand
on baby as you go.

Ensure that your straps are
set up correctly to begin.
The Shoulder strap closest
to the hip that you will be
carrying on needs to be
longer than the other.

in a deep seated squat with
their bottom at the waist
band of the carrier.
4Scoot baby onto your hip
and smooth the fabric up
their back from the bottom
to the top of their neck.

Take the longer strap under
your arm, around your
back and around to your
front, support baby at all
times.
6Clip into place and tighten
with the dual adjustable
tightening system.

Take the second shoulder
strap across your body
and around your back,
ensure that baby is still
well supported.
