Thank you for purchasing the MANHATTAN

Mobile Power Inverter,
Model 161350 (120 V) or Model 162890 (220 V).
This handy device converts 12 V power into 120 or 220 V AC with up to
150 Watts of continuous power (maximum 175 Watts) to start up, operate
and charge portable electronics and light-duty, non-vital devices, tools
and appliances. A single receptacle and USB port can help supply power
for notebook computers, digital cameras and music players, mobile phones
and more, and built-in surge protection routes unsafe voltage to an internal
25 A fuse to guard against vehicle power uctuations.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
The Mobile Power Inverter generates the same AC power as a normal
household wall outlet. Failure to follow the precautions below may result
in personal injury or damage to the inverter.
• Do not open the device (there are no user-serviceable parts inside).
• Do not insert foreign objects into the outlet.
• Do not expose to water, rain or snow.
• Do not connect to power utility AC distribution wiring.
WARNING: The inverter housing may become uncomfortably warm,
reaching as high as 65˚C (150˚F) under extended high-power operation
at high ambient (car interior) temperatures. During operation, keep the
inverter away from materials that may be affected by high temperatures.
WARNING: As a driver, never handle the device while your vehicle is in
motion, as your focus on the inverter creates a driving hazard!
CAUTION: For proper battery installation and operation, refer to the
source battery (auto or stand-alone) manufacturer’s safety instructions.
The ungrounded design means this inverter has a oating neutral.
• Do not plug in any device that has a neutral conductor bonded to an
external ground.
• Do not operate in ambient temperatures above 40˚C (104˚F).
• The inverter output is non-sinusoidal. Do not use it with the following
items without rst consulting the manual for the device in question.
– Small battery-operated products (rechargeable ashlights, some
rechargeable shavers, nightlights recharging in an AC receptacle).
– Certain battery chargers for battery packs used with power tools.

OPERATION
1. Plug the Mobile Inverter
Power into your vehicle’s
cigarette lighter socket. If
the socket’s too big, adjust
the negative connectors
using the slide control to
ensure a snug t. The
green LED will light.
2. Plug an AC device into the
AC receptacle and turn it on. Be sure the item draws no more than 150 W
of continuous AC power. To avoid discharging the vehicle battery,
always remove the inverter from the lighter socket when not in use.

Operating tips (If the connected AC item doesn’t work and/or the inverter’s power LED doesn’t light):
Likely Cause Suggested Solution
AC item rated above 150 W, causing overload shutdown Replace AC item with one using less power
Excessive startup surge causes overload shutdown Replace AC item with one that has less
than a 350 W startup surge
Lighter socket or 12 V outlet may require ignition be turned on Turn the ignition key to Accessory position
Poorcontactwiththelightersocketor12Voutlet Pressinverterrmlyintothesocket/outlet
Vehicle battery is discharged Recharge the battery
NOTE: If you experience a buzzing sound in an audio component/system connected to the inverter, it could
be because inexpensive stereo systems have an inadequate internal power supply. The only solution is to
upgrade to a higher-quality system.
