he Marantz PD-4290D Digital Widescreen Plasma Monitor is an
engineering masterpiece that uses state-of-the-art plasma display

fidelity. Its super-slim chassis is only 31/2inches deep. A 42 inch,
16:9 widescreen format and 480 line progressive scan resolution

The Marantz PD-4290D Digital Plasma Monitor features cutting edge technology combined
with an improved design to deliver unsurpassed picture quality in a super-slim 31/2inch deep
cabinet. Its 42 inch diagonal, 16:9 aspect ratio widescreen display offers a 160 degree angle of
view, ideal for home theater installations. The PD-4290D is capable of displaying line doubled
images from any NTSC source, or a progressive scan image from a DVD player, computer or
DTV converter up to XGA resolution. It is ideal for computer games and graphic
presentations as well as home theater use.
High-resolution screen: 853 x 480 pixels in 16:9 mode. 60% brighter with 50% greater
contrast than our previous model.
Built-in line doubler/scaler for NTSC inputs.
Four aspect ratio modes: 4:3 standard; Widescreen for full screen viewing of movies
mastered in widescreen format; Full mode expands images horizontally to fill the viewing
area; Stadium mode converts 4:3 aspect ratio programs to widescreen by expanding
horizontal and vertical proportions.
Four video inputs including component, composite, S-video and RGB provide total
connection flexibility to accommodate a DVD player, VCR, tuner, satellite receiver, computer
or laser disc player.
Three video noise reduction levels compensate for inferior or degraded video tape
recordings and poor reception from broadcast receivers.
DTV and Computer compatible. Accepts 480P, 720P and 1080I DTV/HDTV inputs, or PC’s
(Windows 95/98™ Plug and Play) and Macintosh®computers.
Super-slim design allows wall or stand mounting using the included tabletop stand. The
PD-4290D's elegant metallic gold finish blends easily into any decor or custom installation.
Seven language on-screen menu system.
Not affected by magnetic fields, for immunity from color shifts caused by placing monitors
too close to loudspeakers and other sources of strong magnetic fields.
RC-2000 Mark II Programmable Learning Remote Control included that can also be
programmed to control every component in a home entertainment system.
