Operation
Switching on the scale
Press and hold the PRINT/ON/OFF button for three seconds.
The display will show ‘0.00’once the scale is ready to begin weighing.
Using Hold
If an unstable weight on the scale causes fluctuations in the weight display, press
the HOLD button and the indicator will ‘lock’ the weight of the item on the screen.
Press HOLD again to cancel the held weight reading.
Using Tare
You can remove the weight of the pallet by using the TARE function. Place the pallet
only on the scale, and press TARE.
Remove the pallet. The display will show the pallet’s weight as a minus number.
Add your palletized goods to the scale and the weight of the pallet will be removed.
Press GROSS and the display will show the full weight on the scale.
Press TARE again to cancel the tare weight.
Switching between kg and lb
To switch the scale from kg to lb, press LB/KG.
Press again to return to KG readings.
Using Zero
If at any time the indicator shows a reading when nothing is on the scale, press
ZERO.
The display will then show a zero reading.
Using Accumulation
The accumulation function allows you to add up the weights of several pallets.
Add your first item to the scale and press TOTAL. Remove the pallet from the scale.
Add the next item to the scale and press TOTAL again.
If you would like to see the current total at any time, press and hold TOTAL for at
least two seconds.
To print the individual weights and a total, press PRINT/ON/OFF.
To clear accumulation readings press ZERO.
Press HOLD to return to normal weighing.

Switching to Counting mode
To count items on the scale, first place a sample quantity on the scale. Switch the
indicator to count mode by pressing TOTAL, and holding the button until ‘SAMPLE’
is displayed.
Press PRINT/ON/OFF. ‘PCS’ will display on the screen. Use the LB/KG keys for left
and right and TARE and ZERO as up and down to input the sample size.
To confirm the amount, press PRINT/ON/OFF.Adding more items will increase the
count on the display.
Press HOLD to return to weighing mode.
To set target weights and high or low limits
Press and hold HOLD until ‘F1’ is displayed.
Press and hold ZERO until ‘F2’ is displayed.
Press and hold PRINT until ‘F2.1’ is displayed.
Press and hold ZERO until ‘F2.3’ is displayed.
Press PRINT.
Using GROSS and ZERO, set your target weight, and then press PRINT to confirm.
Press ZERO until ‘F2.4’ is displayed, and then press PRINT.
Using GROSS and ZERO, set your upper error limit, and then press PRINT to
confirm.
Press ZERO until ‘F2.5’ is displayed, then press PRINT.
Using GROSS and ZERO, set your lower error limit, and then press PRINT to
confirm.
Press the HOLD button twice to return to normal weighing.
The display will now flash until you get to within 1kg of the target weight, and will
stay steady until you are 1kg above the target weight.
To display the current target weight in normal weighing mode, press and hold
TOTAL until ‘target’ is displayed, and then press PRINT.
Press PRINT again, and using GROSS and ZERO the target weight can be altered.
Press PRINT to return to weighing.
NB (PT-600 only):
Pressing PRINT whilst under target will print weight and state as ‘less’
Pressing PRINT whilst at target will print weight and state as ‘OK’
Pressing PRINT whilst over target will print weight and state as ‘over’

Using the printer (PT-600 only)
Whether you are in counting or weighing mode, pressing PRINT/ON/OFF will produce a
printed report. However, the information printed can be changed depending on your needs
(see over for print-out examples).
To print a single weight only
With nothing on the scale press and hold HOLD until ‘F1’ is displayed on the screen.
Press ZERO, and ‘F2’ will be displayed.
Press PRINT/ON/OFF, and ‘F2.1’ will be displayed.
Press PRINT/ON/OFF again.
Use ZERO to scroll until the display shows ‘1’.
Press PRINT/ON/OFF once and HOLD twice to confirm your selection and return to
weighing mode.
To print accumulated weights
With nothing on the scale press and hold HOLD until ‘F1’ is displayed on the screen.
Press ZERO until ‘F4’ is displayed.
Press PRINT/ON/OFF, then ZERO, then PRINT/ON/OFF, then ZERO until ‘F4.2.3’ is
displayed.
Press PRINT/ON/OFF again.
Use ZERO to scroll until the display shows ‘0’for print of the total weight only, or ‘1’ for a
print out of individual weights and total.
Press PRINT/ON/OFF, and then HOLD three times to confirm your selection and return to
weighing mode.
To print count data
With nothing on the scale press and hold HOLD until ‘F1’ is displayed on the screen.
Press ZERO, and ‘F2’ will be displayed.
Press PRINT/ON/OFF, and ‘F2.1’ will be displayed.
Press PRINT/ON/OFF again.
Use ZERO to scroll until the display shows ‘5’.
Press PRINT/ON/OFF once and HOLD twice to confirm your selection and return to
weighing mode. Make sure the scale is in counting mode to use this print setting.

Setting the screen time out function
To save battery power, the indicator’s display can power down after a set period of time. To
set the time out function, with the indicator switched on and nothing on the scale press and
hold HOLD until ‘F1’ is displayed.
Press and hold ZERO until ‘F3’ is displayed.
Press and hold PRINT until ‘F3.1’ is displayed.
Press PRINT again.
Using GROSS and ZERO, set the time out period you require (between 0 and 99
minutes).
Press PRINT once and HOLD twice to set the time out period and return to normal
weighing.
Setting the auto power-off function
Additionally, the scale can be programmed to power down after a set period in order
to save battery power. To set, with the indicator switched on and nothing on the
scale press and hold HOLD until ‘F1’ is displayed.
Press and hold ZERO until ‘F3’ is displayed.
Press and hold PRINT until ‘F3.1’ is displayed.
Press and hold ZERO until ‘F3.2’ is displayed.
Press PRINT.
Using GROSS and ZERO, set the auto power off period you require (between 0 and
99 minutes).
Press PRINT once and HOLD twice to set the auto power off period and return to
normal weighing.

Charging the scale
The PT-500 and PT-600 are supplied with a 7v 100ma tip +ve adaptor, which plugs directly
into the indicator.
Please allow eight hours for the internal rechargeable battery to reach full charge from flat.
Replacing the printer’s tally roll (PT-600 only)
Replacing the tally roll on the PT-600’s is easy.
Simply pull the lever down on the top right hand side of the printer and the front cover of
the printer will release.
Remove the tally carefully and replace with a new one supplied by Marsden, ensuring the
end of the tally roll is lined up with the opening of the printer.
For replacement tally rolls call 01709 364296.
