Note: always check battery manufacturer recommended charge rates
before selecting the appropriate chemistry setting.
AGM/REG (VRLA, FLOODED, WET, SLA)
This charge mode is designed for most common battery types. lts
charge rate is 14.5 Volt
GEL (GEL Technotogy)
This charge mode is designed for GEL TECHNoLoGy batteries. lts
charge rate is 14.0Volt
Note: some GEL batteries require a higher charge voltage such as
14.4volt. The AGM/REG mode can be used if this is required.
DEEP CYCLE (1s.3V CALCIUM/ CALCTUM)
This charge mode is designed for deep cycle & calcium/calcium
batteries and has a maximum charge rate of 1S.3Volt.
MULTI.STAGES FUNCTION DEFINITIONS
ANALYZING/PRE-CHARG E (Charging)
The Analyzing mode conducts an analysis test on the battery to
ensure that the battery is in a safe condition to take a charge. lf
the battery passes the test, the charger will commence its pre-
charge process. lf however the battery fails, the charger will indicate
on the screen an error code. pre-charge is a prelirninary charge that
gently introduces a low power (amperage) to the battery. This process
protects the battery and increases battery life.
BULK CHARGE (60%)
The Bulk charge stage charges the battery at the Maximum power
(amperage) that the battery can accept safely while at the same time
analyzing and monitoring how the battery is accepting the charge.
ABSORPTTON (80%)
The absorption stage is the last stage where the charger reduces its
power (amperage) been input into the battery to enable the battery to
reach 100% state of charge.
MAINTENANCE (90% - Fuil)
ls an inbuilt technology programmed into the RV210 for optimum
battery maintenance and to ensure the battery is kept at 100% s.o.T.
This technology ensures you can indefinitely leave your RV210
charger and Battery connected. This stage also ensures the battery
does not generate a traditional hydrogen build up, a feature of most
Float chargers and also gives you the added advantage of energy
consumption monitoring (saving's on your electricity bills).
FEATURES
ADJUSTABLE CHARGE RATE
The RV210 charger's output can be adjusted to match the size
(capacity) of the battery been charged for optimum charging efficiency.
Amperage selections available: 2, g, 4, S, 6,2, g, g or f O nmp.
BATTERY VOLTAGE READING
Upon connecting the DC clamps to the battery, the LCD panel will
give you the batteries current voltage reading. This gives the user an
opportunity to get a read on the battery and its current state of charge.
MINIMUM START UP VOUTAGE
lmportant to note that the charger can only pick up and commence
charging if your battery is ABOVE 2.5 Volts.
TEMPERATU R E PROTECTION
Your charger has an built-in automatic cooling fan to allow fast &
effective heat dissipation. The fan wiil onry activated when your
charger is inputting 6.0amps or above and/or when the internal
temperature is higher than 55.C.
OVER CURRENT PROTECTION
Fully Automatic and programmed technology ensuring the RV210 will
reduce current (amperage) output for optimum charging and extended
battery life.
POLARITY PROTECTION
If the DC clamps are connected in reverse, your charger will display
an error code on the LCD screen. The charger will not operate until

the DC clamps are connected correctly.
SWITCHMODE TECHNOLOGY
. Fully Automatic smart charging technology
. Microprocessor controlled and managed
. High frequency charging for efficiency
. LED display indicating charging information or Error conditions
. Alternator analysis function.
ALTERNATOR FUNCTION
Without connecting the RV210 to mains power and with the battery
installed in the vehicle, connect firstly the RED DC clamp from the
charger to the Positive (+) battery post and the BLACK DC clamp from
the charger to the Negative (-) battery post.
The RV210 will then give you a Battery voltage read out. lt should
be around the 12.8volt. Then start the engine and rev the motor, The
alternator if working correctly should increase the batteries voltage to
around the 15 to 15.5 volts. lf the Voltage movement is minimal, or
conversely, the voltage is way over the 15.5 volts indicated, then the
Alternator is not performing as designed and requires checking by a
qualified technician.
PREPARATIONS FOR CHARG ING
The RV210 Battery Charger has been designed primarily for charging
batteries in Recreational Vehicles, Camper Trailers and Caravans,
however it can be used in most Battery Charging applications. The
RV210 range can either be permanently hard wired or used as a
portable device.
When hard wiring the unit please take note of the following
recommendations:
. Have installation performed by a qualified tradesperson only.
. Ensure charger is in a well-ventilated location, away from rain,
moisture, dust and contaminants.
CHECK ELECTROLYTE LEVEL
Before charging a WET battery, remove the vent caps and check the
electrolyte level (not possible on SEALED, VRLA, AGM & Deep Cycle
batteries). The electrolyte should be 6mm (114") above the battery's
plates, top up with distilled water if it is low. After refilling to the correct
level, refit the vent caps.
