safety glasses, safety shoes, hard hat, and work gloves.
zAlways wear hearing protection when working in noisy environments. Prolonged exposure to
high-intensity noise may cause hearing loss.
zDress appropriately and never wear loose clothing or jewellery, contain long hair, and use caution when
wearing gloves to avoid the dangers of moving parts.
zUse common sense, and stay alert and focused when using this product.
zNever use this product while under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medications.
zAlways ensure the work area is clear of obstacles and well lit when using this product.
zIf operating equipment, always wear appropriate riding safety equipment including a helmet or hard hat
and gloves.
PART 2
PRODUCT WARNINGS AND
PRECAUTIONS PRIOR TO USE
zNever exceed the 1,500-lb combined maximum weight capacity of the ramp (500-lb maximum weight
capacity per ramp panel) and ensure loads are evenly distributed.
zRemove the tailgate of the truck and load directly to the truck/trailer bed when possible. Do not exceed the

MaxWorks Model 70480 Page 2 of 7
weight capacity of the tailgate when loading, if not removed.
zEnsure equipment being loaded/unloaded will adequately and safely fit within the 54-inch width of the
ramp.
zMeasure the bed/deck height of the truck/trailer from the ground and ensure it is within 34-1/2-inches.
Attempting to use the ramp on a truck/trailer that is higher than this will create an excessively steep
loading angle that is unsafe.
zThis ramp is designed to only be used with all three panels unfolded and open to form a flat loading
surface.
zNever attempt to separate the ramp sections and use individually.
zDo not modify the ramp and do not use this ramp for purposes that it was not designed for.
zNever attempt to permanently attach the ramp to a vehicle.
zWear work gloves while setting up and loading/unloading from the ramp.
zMaterial edges can be sharp. Avoid placing figures near point-points when handling the ramp.
zInspect the components of the ramp prior to use. If any parts of the ramp or tie-downs are broken or
damaged, they should be repaired or replaced prior to use.
zEnsure the ramp, equipment, and the truck/trailer bed are clean, dry and free of debris prior to use.
zEnsure the ignition of the vehicle being loaded to is off, set the parking break before setting up the ramp
and ensure the parking break is applied before loading/unloading. Apply wheel chocks to the vehicle being
loaded to for added safety. Failure to do so may cause the vehicle to creep forward and result in damage,
injury, and/or death.
zEnsure the angled tips of the ramp are level and in full contact with the leading edge of the truck/trailer bed
before attempting to use the ramp.
zBe aware that applying the angled tips of the ramp may cause damage to the paint finish of the vehicle
being loaded to.
zBoth included tie-down straps with hooks must be securely attached to the ramp and to secure anchor
points of the vehicle prior to use.
zBe aware of the dangers of dynamic loads. Where a load is dropped or forced onto the ramp, short-term
excessive loads on the ramp will occur. This can result in damage and/or failure of the ramp and/or vehicle
tail gate, and personal injury to the operator, even if the load is within the maximum capacity.
zOperating and manoeuvring power equipment such as a snowmobile, ATV, motorcycle, or other
equipment up and down the ramp can be strenuous and dangerous. This should only be done by
individuals who are physically capable of handling the demands of this task.
zNever place yourself in the direct path of, or behind, equipment being loaded/unloaded.
zNever allow spectators, children or animals to walk on the ramp and keep the loading area clear while
setting up, loading or unloading.
zKeep away from children as the ramp is not a toy.
zPlease note the warnings in this manual cannot cover all possible events and circumstances that may
occur when using this ramp. It is important that the person loading/unloading and using this product is
alert and uses common sense at all times.

PART 3
RAMP USE AND OPERATION
SET UP
1. Inspect the components of the ramp prior to use and continue only if the ramp is in
working order.
2. Measure the deck/bed height of the truck/trailer from the ground and continue only if it
is within 34-1/2”
3. Remove the tail gate from the truck, if one is present.
4. Carefully unfold the ramp panels on a flat surface.
5. Lift the end of the ramp and position the angled tips of the ramp on the leading edge
of the truck/trailer bed. Avoid contact of angled tips on painted finishes.
6. Secure each tie-down to the inside rail of the left and right outer ramp panels:
A. On the left-most ramp panel, wrap one end of the first tie down strap around a central cross bar and
right (interior) rail connection on the ramp panel.
B. On the right-most ramp panel, wrap one end of the second tie down strap around a central cross bar
and left (interior) rail connection on the ramp panel.
C. On both tie-downs:
i. Loop and connect the hooked end on the ramp and pull tight to eliminate any slack tie-down
strap webbing.
ii. Attach the opposite hooked end of the strap to a secure attachment point on the frame of the
vehicle.
iii. Pull on the loose strap end threaded through the tie-down buckle and tension the straps so
that they are tight and capable of handing a pulling force during loading/unloading.
7. With the ramp in place, attempt to pull the ramp away from the truck/trailer bed. The
ramp should be firmly attached with full engagement of the angled tips against the edge of the truck/trailer
bed. Make adjustments to the ramp position and/or tie-downs if additional tightening is needed.
WARNINGS – BEFORE PROCEEDING
zEnsure all safety Warnings and Precautions above are adhered to and appropriate safety equipment is
used.
zEnsure the combined weight of the equipment, fuel/batteries and the rider does not exceed the 1,500-lb
maximum capacity of the ramp.
zHave an assistant ensure the angled tips of the ramp and tie-downs remain in place and the ramp is
securely attached to the truck/trailer bed while loading/unloading.
zPosition the equipment at the base of the ramp so that the equipment being loaded is parallel and centred
within the width of the ramp.
zRemove any gear and equipment that may be stored on the equipment or in the truck/trailer bed as it may
interfere with loading/unloading.
zEnsure the loading/unloading area is clear of bystanders, equipment/gear and other obstacles.

LOADING
Prior to loading, ensure the previous Set Up procedures have been completed. There are various methods
for loading equipment. Please select the most appropriate method for your application, as two-wheel
equipment should only be walked up/down the ramp.
Option A: Loading – Winch (Recommended)
1. Use of a utility winch (not included) is the safest and most efficient method in loading/unloading
equipment and is strongly recommended.
2. If using a winch, always read and follow instructions and safety warnings provided by the manufacturer.
3. A winch can be used safely either mounted to the equipment being loaded/unloaded and hooked to an
appropriate anchor point on the truck/trailer bed, or mounted to the truck/trailer bed and hooked to an
appropriate anchor point on the equipment being loaded/unloaded.
4. Always stand to the side and well-clear of the winch cable and equipment being loaded/unloaded.
5. Operating the winch slowly to load equipment is the safest way to load/unload.
Option B: Loading – Riding
1. Riding equipment on the ramp is dangerous and not recommended as equipment can be difficult to
control.
2. Note the ramp is on an incline. Do not suddenly accelerate equipment as there is a potential for
unpredictable/uncontrollable movement of the equipment, rolling/inverting the equipment or “kicking-out”
the ramp. The operator should always ensure slow and smooth movement of the equipment being
loaded/unloaded.
3. Do not ride two-wheel equipment on the ramp.
4. While leaning forward to improve balance, drive the equipment up the ramp as slowly as possible and
into the truck/trailer bed.
5. Once the equipment is in the truck/trailer bed, turn of the ignition and set the emergency/parking break.
Option C: Loading Operations – Walking
1. The ignition should be off, and with assistance of a second person, the equipment should be rolled on
the ramp for loading/unloading.
2. Always stand to the side and well-clear of the equipment being loaded/unloaded.
SECURE EQUIPMENT
1. If not already done, turn off the ignition and set the emergency/parking break of the equipment loaded.
2. Use tie-down straps (not included) to secure the equipment to the truck/trailer bed.
UNLOADING
Prior to unloading, ensure the previous Set Up procedures have been completed.
WARNING – Do not ride equipment down the ramp when unloading. This manoeuvre is dangerous and
should not be attempted.
1. Remove any tie-downs and wheel chocks, and ensure the equipment is not secured to the truck/trailer bed.
