Adapter, keep work area clean and well
lighted. Keep spectators and children out of
the work area.
3. Use of the Hitch Adapter
A. Do not exceed the
Hitch Adapter’s maximum weight ratings
(see Specication chart on cover page).
B. Always make sure that the tow vehicle’s
engine is turned off, with emergency brake
on, before attempting to install this product.
Take safety precautions to prevent unsafe
movement of the accessory as it is being
connected to the vehicle. Make sure vehi-
cle’s wheels are chocked before attempting
to attach the accessory to the tow vehicle.
C. Make sure that the Hitch Adapter is
securely connected to the vehicle’s re-
ceiver. Use of a 1/2” diameter steel hitch
pin and R-Shaped safety clip (both not in-
cluded) are required for this connection.
Make sure safety clip is fully engaged.
D. The upper receiver (with collar) is for
attaching accessories such as a bike rack
or cargo carrier. Use of a 5/8” diameter
steel hitch pin and R-Shaped safety clip
(both not included) are required to con-
nect the accessory to this Hitch Adapter.
Make sure safety clip is fully engaged.
Upper receiver is not for
towing.
E. Only use this Hitch Adapter on an appro-

F. It is critical that the
connection between the vehicle’s receiv-
er, this Hitch Adapter, and the attached
accessory be made correctly. This con-
nection must be solid, and must include
the use of both sets of hitch pins/R-

serious property damage, personal injury
or death.
G. Safety chains between the vehicle and
the attached accessory are recommended.

from under the vehicle and the accessory

ing connected or loaded with cargo. Keep
spectators away when setting up and using
this product.
I. Be aware of the danger of “dynamic
loading”. This situation arises when a load
is dropped onto the Hitch Adapter, resulting
in a short term excessive load. Dynamic
loading can result in damage and failure of
the Hitch Adapter and/or the attached acces-
sory, and personal injury to people nearby.
J. Before each use, check the Hitch
Adapter, the vehicle’s receiver and the
attached accessory to make sure all
hardware is tightly secured. Check for
damaged or worn parts; never use the Hitch
