- Ensure the handbrake is applied and the corner steadies are down.
- It is preferable, but not essential that your caravan exterior is dry before fitting the front
towing cover.
- Your caravan front must be clean and completely free of dust and dirt. In the wind, the
abrasion caused by dust and dirt particles caught between the bodywork and cover will
leave scratch marks.
- Make sure the inside of the front towing cover doesn’t come in contact with the ground
to ensure it remains free of any dirt or grit which may cause damage when fitted.
SAFETY INFORMATION
- Do not over tension the straps as this may damage your front towing cover.
- To avoid any potential damage to the paintwork caused by material flapping in the
wind; make sure the cover is fastened securely with the straps fully tightened.
- If using stepladders or a platform you will be working at height and should follow
carefully the manufacturer’s safety instructions. You should not attempt to fit the cover
from the ladder and only use it if required to assist people on the ground.
Remove the cover from the carry bag and open it with the inner fleece side facing the caravan
front. Note –the side with the straps & Maypole logo is the exterior face.
To aid installation we recommend two people and the use of small steps or step ladders.
For ease of fitting; firstly loosen all of the side straps and buckles. Position the cover so the top
edge of the front face is just above the drawbar.
Slide the beading found at either side of the cover into the bottom opening of both front awning
channels:
With one person on each side of the caravan, slide the beading up both awning channels
evenly until the beading is completely within the channels. Pull back down into the bottom of
the channels –the cover should now sit on the drawbar. Sliding each side of the cover up
together so the top edge remains horizontal will make this easier:
