The following tools are needed to install your new oven.
1. l/8” drill bit

IMPORTANT: If you install the oven in a corner. you must have a
minimum of 4” belween the side of the oven and the adjacent wall or
,cabinet (see insel a! right). The 4” clearance from the wall Is needed
lo make the screws on the side of the control panel accessible, should
the unit need servicing.
The cabinel must have a solid bottom. The solid bottom may either ti
al the flmr or level with lhe boflom edge of the cutout opening. If Ihe solid
bottom is lo be at Ihe floor. two runners, cen:ered wlthln the cabinet. 11”

Be sure the oven support is solid enough lo hold the weigh1 of the unit
about 130 pounds. Also, be sure the oven support is level and straight

II lhere are no local codes. Ihe Nalional Eleclrical Code, ANSliNFPA No.
70-1987 must be followed. You can get a copy by writing:

An adequate electrical supply and outlet must tx used la operate the elec-
frical pans of your oven. The oven cord has a three prong plug and must
be used with a properly grounded lhree hole oullel wllh a standard 120
volt. 60 cycleOAC household current. Never use an extension cord to con-
nect Ihe oven to the electrical supply
lnslall Ihe electrical outlet below Ihe oven on the right side. It should be
easily reached through cabinet doors below Ihe oven. See Figure 5.
The preferred melhod of electrical hook-up is shown In Fig. 2. If you do
not have a grounded (rhree hole) wllel. have a quaIlfled eleclrician change
your old outlet or lnslall a new one.
A grounding adapter plug may be used to convert a two hole outlet lo
a three hole outlet until a grounded outlet can be installed. See Figure 3.
This should be done only lemporarlly and only II Ihe two hole outlet ISpr@
perly polarized and gounded. Have a quaIlfled electnclan test the outlet
lo be sure II meets all requirements.
Always un lug the oven-cord before making any eleclrical repairs lo
(he oven. Ji hen unplugging Ihe oven, always grasp the plug, never Ihe
cord. Never use an extension cord to connecl Ihe oven lo Ihe electrical
suPPlY

Never reuse an old connecfor when installino a new oven. Be sure no strain
is put on the connecting-line assembly. To<prevent gas leaks, put a pipe
joint compound, which resisfs the action of L.P. gas on Ihe male (outside)
ihreads only.

Do nof operate the burners of this oven when using LP.
(t&hod) gas before converting the pressure regufalor
and burner orifices for L.P. gas usage. High flames and
toxic fumes could cause serious injury.
You must lollow local codes when installrng your built-in oven. Check with
your local ulrlrties for codes and ordrnances which ap ly in your area. If
lhere are no local codes, you must follow the &ional Fuel Gas
ANSl/Z223.1-1984. You can get a copy by writing:

Use %” gas inlet pope. The hole for the gas inlet pipe sfioutd be.9%” IO
the left of the center line d the cabinet (see Frgure 4) and 23” behrnd
the front surface of the cabinet. Connect a l/2” coupling to Ihe inlet pipe.
The lop of the coupling should be about 2-l/2” above the bottom edge
of the cutout opening (see Figure 4). Before you put the oven inlo the cabinet
opening, connect the i/2” reducer shut-off valve lo the coupling (see porn1
A in Figure 4). This valve is supplied with the oven and is packed in the
auxiliary carton.
Put the oven inlo the cabinet. NOTE: The oven and broiler doors may be
removed before inserting the oven into the cabinet lo lessen the weight
See the instructions in the Use and Care Manual for removing the doors.
When the oven is in place, remove the hookup and adjustment access
covers al lhe lower oven back (Frgure 5). Reach through access openrng
and connect the oven tubino lo Ihe reducer shut off valve (see oornl B
in Figure 5). Use a 5/8” wrench to turn the fitting. Tighten the’frlting lightly
but do not force il. Forcing could damage the filling and tubing and cause
leaking.

Apply a soap solution lo all connections in the supply line, manilold and
oven to test for gas leaks. Do not use an open flame lo look for leaks.
Bubbles will form where any gas is leaking. Turn off the main gas supply
before you try lo stop a leak. AHer all leaks are slopped, turn on the gas
supply and recheck all conneclrons for leaks before lrghling burners. All
leaks must be slopped before lighting any burners.

II you are using L.P. (bottled) gas, all the adjustments
described below must be made before you make any
burner adjuslmenls or use the oven.
NOTE: The pressure regulator is se! for natural gas. To use L.P. gas,
the regulator must be adjusled.
Step 1i Adjust Pressure Regularor
Locate lhe pressure regulator (see Fig. 5). Unscrew Ihe cap and remove
lhe spnn relarner. Frg. 6. Turn Ihe relarner over and pul il back info Ihe
cap so L.

Step 2: Aqjust Burner Orifice
All ove s are factory adjusled for use wth the natural gas used in most

adjustmenrs described below If you are using L.P. gas, all the ad-
justments must be made.
Ihe burner. Failure to do so could resull in seric
flames and loxic flames.
Use a 112” open end or adluslable wrench to turn the orilice hood in Ihe
L P direclion. aboul 1.1/2” (urns or unlil snug. See next page. Do not over-
lighten or you may dislorl lhe orifice hood and needle.
Step 1: Adjust Air Shutter
Turn the burner full on and check the flames. Burner flames should not

flutter or blow awa from the burner. They should be blue in color with
no trace of yellow. n particles tn the gas line may cause an orange
soon disappear.
The maximum allowable pressure for the regulator IS 14” WC. The
minimum pressure needed IO check the regulator setting is 7” W.C. for
nalural gas or 11” W.C. lor L.P. gas.
If the flames are yellow or flutIer. open the air shutter more. If they blow
away from the burner, close Ihe air shutter more.

MAKING BURNER ADJUSTMENTS
To shorten the cones, tighten Ihe orifice hood by turning in the L.P. cfrrec-
lion. To lengthen the cones, loosen the orifice ho& by turning in the Nat.
direction. (see next page).
If you are using L.P. (bottled) gas, all the adjustments
described above and on Ihe previous page must be made
before you make any burner adjuslmenls or use the oven.
