The gas supplier typically has responsibility for the inspection and code approval of gas piping up to and including the Natural Gas meter or

andthenthe entiremanualcarefully. If youdon’tfollow thesafety
rules, the water heater will not operate properly. It could cause
DEATH,SERIOUSBODILYINJURYAND/ORPROPERTYDAMAGE.
Thismanualcontainsinstructionsfor theinstallation,operation, and
maintenanceofthe gas-firedwaterheater. Italsocontainswarnings
throughout the manual that you must read and be aware of. All
warningsandall instructionsare essential tothe properoperation
ofthewaterheaterandyoursafety. Sincewecannotputeverything
on the first few pages, READ THE ENTIRE MANUAL BEFORE
ATTEMPTINGTOINSTALLOROPERATETHEWATERHEATER.
2. The installationmustconformwiththese instructionsand thelocal
