Main features
Remote Examiner measures the level of radio frequency (RF) in the ranges:
- 100 –1000 MHz (automotive central locking –keyless entry),
- 120 -140 kHz (ignition locks systems, powering RFID systems),
- Infra-Red (IR) presence and it’s level.
CONTROLS AND POWER SUPPLY
Turn device ON/OFF
To turn ON –press shortly SELECT button. If you power Remote Examiner via USB socket device turnes ON automatically –with LED
backlight.
To turn OFF –press and hold SELECT button till you hear signal.
The device will be turn off automatically if it does not detect external input signals (RF and IR) for 45 approximately seconds –when
in battery powered mode. Remote Examiner does not turn OFF automatically when it is connected to USB power.
Battery voltage indicator
When in battery mode, you can find indicator of battery power level
You need to charge the battery when the indicator goes blank (there are no more vertical stripes). Battery power indicator does not
appear, when Remote Examiner is connected to USB.

LED backlight
You can turn ON and OFF the LED backlight by short pressing of LED button. It turnes ON automatically when you get external power
via Mini-USB socket. It can be turned OFF by LED button the same.
Measuring mode
Press SELECT button successively to choose mode you need.
Range 100 –1000 MHz (“RADIO”).
Place remote controller, key, keyless entry remote you would like to test on the center of dark-gray field with a drawing of the
wireless.
See picture below.
Press any button on remote control. If it sends any radio signal you see the information on the LED screen: RF volume and level of
RF signal.
Please note: mobile phones, wireless transmitters and other devices can be source of interferences during the measurement
process. Do not place Remote Examiner near such devices - find RF free area if it’s possible.
range 100 –140 kHz (“COIL”)
That range of the radio transition is used to power RFID mounted in keys. To check that transmission simply select COIL mode. Place
Remote Examiner near the testing source –as usually near ignition lock and turn ignition ON (see picture below). Frequency of the
radio transmission and the level of a signal will be shown on LED if the ignition coil works properly.
Infra-red mode (“I-RED”).
Select I-RED mode. Place Remote Examiner near the testing source like on picture below. Presence and level of IR signal will be
shown on the LED.
