These operating instructions contain information related to safe use, operation, maintenance, and
troubleshooting to ensure the product is used correctly. These instructions represent an essential
safety requirement and, as such, are an integral part of the product and must accompany it during
its entire life cycle; therefore, they must be kept, distributed, and made available to all relevant
personnel.
This manual may not be reproduced, fully or in part, in any form, modified,
transcribed, translated, made available to third parties or used in a manner which
may prejudice the interests of RCH S.p.A. without the prior authorisation of RCH
S.p.A.

The advanced technological research in RCH has produced ABOX 3, the innovative Electronic
Cash Register equipped with an Android System adaptable to the varied requirements of the
market.
Accessing its functions is simple, quick, and intuitive, thanks to the 10” touch panel widescreen
display that guarantees efficiency during sales operations. Its printer is equipped with a highspeed
200 mm/s and easy-loading paper roll system, facilitating daily operations.
The product’s compact, space-saving design makes it an all-in-one solution that brings elegance
to any point of sale.

The appliance is made up of several materials. It must be disposed of in accordance with local
industrial and special waste regulations. It must not be disposed of with household waste.
The product does not contain toxic or hazardous substances and elements such as lead, mercury,
cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl. It therefore complies with SJ/T11363-
2006
At the end of its service life, carry out the safe removal and responsible disposal of the components
in accordance with the applicable environmental regulations in force in the country of disposal.
Remove the internal battery and dispose of it according to current regulations.

Before installation, check that the electrical system is earthed. The power socket must be
installed near the appliance in an easily accessible position.
RCH S.p.A. declines all liability for and the warranty will be void in the case of negligence when
using the product or failure on the part of the operator to comply with the operating instructions.

Do NOT use the product in extremely cold/hot places or in direct sunlight for a long time.
Correct operation is expected with temperatures between 0 and 35 °C
►
Do NOT expose the ECR to atmospheric agents
►
Do NOT allow contact with any liquid
►
Do NOT use the ECR in dusty environments
►
Do NOT touch the printer head
►
Do NOT touch the cutter blade
►
Do NOT use a power supply unit other than the one provided
►
Do NOT excessively bend the power cable or place heavy objects on top of it

Do NOT remove the power supply by simply pulling on the cable

Do NOT allow any maintenance or repair work to be carried out on the product by unauthorised
personnel

Install the ECR on a flat, stable surface with no vibrations.
ABOX 3 is equipped with a thermal printer. It is mandatory to use approved thermal paper showing
both the homologation details and the expiry date.
The user must store the documents in accordance with the law, in dark places, with relative
humidity below 80% and temperature below 35 °C, avoiding direct contact with plastic materials
and in particular with polyvinyl chloride.

Disconnect the product from the power supply if it is not going to be used for a
prolonged period of time.

Batteries may only be replaced by technical personnel authorised by RCH S.p.a.

The ECR must be periodically overhauled in accordance with the regulations in
force in the country of use.
4.3 WARNINGS FOR USE

RCH S.p.A. is relieved of any liability arising from:

Partial or complete failure to comply with the instructions provided in this manual
►
Repairs not carried out in a workmanlike manner (the use of non-original spare parts and
accessories can adversely affect the operation of the product)
►
Damage caused by arbitrary changes by the user or by unauthorised interventions
►
Failure to carry out maintenance as indicated
►
Power supply faults
►
Improper use of the product
►
Use of the product by untrained personnel
The following are the responsibility of the customer unless otherwise stipulated in the contract:

Provision of a suitable supporting structure for the product

RCH S p A does not assume any liability for damages caused to property, people,
or animals caused by inappropriate use of this documentation or of the product.

RCH S p A declines all liability, and the warranty will become void, if the product
has been tampered with, or if non-original parts have been used during
maintenance.
Repairs cannot be carried out if original spare parts are unavailable.

Connect the Ethernet cable in order to connect to the internet (7) and a (optional) USB
optical barcode reader (8);
