1. CONNECT THE RECORDER TO MEDIASITE
Open the Recorder Interface on your ML Recorder
and go to the Settings page. Click Mediasite
Connections. Enter your Mediasite’s Service URL and
the credentials you need to connect to it. You will get
this information from your Mediasite administrator.
2. LICENSE THE RECORDER
Click Unlicensed in the upper-right corner to acquire a
license from the connected Mediasite Video Platform.
Restart the Recorder when prompted.
LICENSING REQUIRED
You cannot record presentations with an unlicensed Recorder.
3. VERIFY YOU HAVE THE LATEST RECORDER
SOFTWARE
When your Recorder restarts after licensing, it
automatically checks for software updates on the
connected Mediasite Video Platform and Sonic
Foundry’s Customer Assurance Portal. Return to the
Settings page, click System, enter the default Recorder
administrator credentials (Admin/mediasite), and
go to Software Update to see if any updates are
available:
UPDATES AVAILABLE ON MEDIASITE
Click Apply Updates to install the latest updates. The Recorder
reboots once all updates have been applied.
UPDATES AVAILABLE ON CUSTOMER ASSURANCE PORTAL
If newer software updates are available on the Customer
Assurance Portal, you will see a download link. Click the link and
enter your organization’s credentials to download the software
to a location accessible from the Recorder. You will then upload
the software and update the Recorder. The Recorder reboots
once all updates have been successfully applied.
If you do not know your organization’s Customer Assurance
Portal credentials, contact your Mediasite administrator.
4. SELECT YOUR SOURCES
On the Input Devices page, select the
appropriate video and audio inputs.
5. PREVIEW INPUTS
Go to the Recorder page to preview
your inputs. Monitor incoming audio
levels and adjust them using the audio
level fader (analog only). Monitor the
incoming video and content sources
and adjust your equipment settings to
get the desired effect.
6. START RECORDING
Once you are satisfied with the inputs,
you can begin recording. It is always
a good idea to record and review
a test presentation. For additional
information:
RECORDER HELP
Click Help when logged into the Recorder for
information on managing your Recorder and
recorded content.
CUSTOMER ASSURANCE PORTAL
Go to the Customer Assurance Portal at
www.sonicfoundry.com/support to download
the Mediasite Recorder Guide, which contains
additional information on managing your
Recorder and recorded content. Contact
your Mediasite administrator for your
organization’s credentials.
