Instructions for use
1.
Insert the fastening button (B) into
the hole at the base (B1) in the
clamping pivot (B3) by the head
(B4) as far as possible. A click
indicates that the interior
mechanism is clamped inside the
groove (B4) of the pivot (B3).
2.
To remove the SALVAFIX fastening
button, place the magnetic key (B2)
on the button (B), press downwards
and move gently to release the
mechanism, pull on the button and
remove from the pivot (B3).
WARNING: always have a cutting
tool to cut the straps and release the
patients, in case of situations of
extreme urgency.

MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
• SALVAFIX products are not fireproof. Do not place them
near a flame or cigarettes, as they may burn.
• Before washing/drying SALVAFIX products, the SALVAFIX
locking buttons and anchoring pivots should be removed.
The SALVAFIX locking should under no circumstances be
moistened or submerged, as this may damage the
mechanism and make it unusable.
• SALVAFIX products are made 50% cotton/50% polyester
and are resistant when washed to high temperatures
(90 ° ). See the washing instructions on the label of
SALVAFIX products.
• Clean the Velcro®hook regularly of fluff and threads that
may become trapped during use, with a hard brush in
order to keep it in good condition and check that it
fastens well.

Instructions for use
1
. Fasten the bed strap F to the bed
frame at approximately chest level.
Insert the D1 and D2 harness straps
into the F1 and F2 eyes located
diagonally at the centre of the strap F
towards the headboard (see Figure 1).
2.
Pass the lower harness strap D3
under the belt A towards the patient’s
feet and then fold it in half. Pass it
back through the space under the
articulation straps A4 towards the
patient’s head and secure with the
Velcro (see Figure 2).
3.
Fasten the adjustment strap E with
the magnetic button on the belt (A3)
(see Figure 3).
4.
Pass the D1 and D2 straps over the
patient’s shoulders. Cross them over
the chest and adjust without
excessive tightness, and fasten to
the adjustment strap E using the
magnetic lock E1. (See Figure 4).
The harness will prevent patient from
moving legthways towards the head
board, and from sitting up.
WARNING:
It is essential that the belt
is used with the side bands (A6)
fastened and the bed rails raised.

SALVAFIX SAFETY INFORMATION
FOR PATIENTS’ SAFETY and for your own, DO NOT USE SALVAFIX
restrain systems if you are not sure that you understand the fastening
instructions. Only qualified personnel should install the SALVAFIX system.
If after having read the instructions for use of SALVAFIX restrain systems
you have any doubt as to their operation, contact our customer service
department or your usual SALVAFIX supplier.
WARNING!!: The incorrect use of SALVAFIX restrain systems
may cause serious injury or even strangulation of the
patient in extreme circumstances.
The SALVAFIX system should only be used with medical prescription.
Follow the protocol instructions for restraining patients used in the hospital
and the applicable legal provisions in your country, whether national,
federal, or regional. Individuals should strictly follow the instructions of
their doctor.
In any case, pay careful attention to the following
recommendations:
1. SELECT THE RIGHT SIZE OF SALVAFIX BELT according to the
table of measurements:
2. Place the SALVAFIX belt over the bed or slide it under the resting
patient. It should be firmly fastened to the bed frame so that it does not
move in any direction. Ensure that the patient is firmly fastened so that
freedom of movement is restricted but without excessive tightening, so
that breathing is not difficult. (A way of checking this is that only a flat
hand should be able to slide between the patient and the waist restrain).
WARNING!!:
- ALWAYS USE THE SIDE BANDS to prevent that patient coud rotate
freely and cause serious injury or strangulation (see instructions for use,
page 4).
- It is recommended to always lift the bed side rails when using
SALVAFIX belt, and to wrap up the holes to prevent patients slipping
between the bars.
- The side bands do not prevent the patient from sitting up in bed.
For this purpose, use the SALVAFIX thorax harness together with its bed
strap.
- The thorax harness may also be used to prevent the patient from getting
out the belt by sliding up in bed.
- In critical cases, even following above precautions, the patient could injury
himself or even strangulate. Under these circumstances, the patient must
be secured in at least two additional points (i.e. right hand left foot).
3. CAUTION!
CHECK RESTRAINED PATIENTS OFTEN. This is especially important with
those who are aggressive, anxious or who may injure themselves or
swallow their vomit. Their safety depends on these checks.
4. CAUTION!
IN PATIENTS WITH PACEMAKERS, keep the magnetic key at least 12
cm away from the pacemaker to avoid any interference or risk of
tachycardia.
5. CHECK THE SYSTEM BEFORE USE.
Repeated use and washing of SALVAFIX restrain systems may weaken its
structure. We therefore recommend that the system is checked
thoroughly before use. If you notice any problem such as breakages,
loose threads, areas showing wear and tear or any other defects, replace
it for a system in good condition or contact your usual SALVAFIX supplier.
Do not use products that are not safe, or worn-out, or poorly functioning,
as they may lead to injury.
Check specially the SALVAFIX buttons and magnetic keys. Use only the
blue SALVAFIX locking button and the yellow SALVAFIX magnetic key to
ensure correct operation. The buttons should not be washed or submerged
in liquids, as this may damage their mechanism and render them useless.

Instructions for use
1.
Place the belt A on the bed or slide
it underneath the patient resting in
bed, making sure that the base of
the belt A1 with the perforated
straps A2 is touching the bed, and
that the belt with eyes A3 is centred
on the patient’s waist (Figure 1).
2.
Fasten the perforated straps A2
to the frame (P) on both sides of
the bed. Beforehand, insert the
fastening pivots A4 in the eyes
protected with the strap closest to
the belt base A1. Pull and fasten
the straps A2 to the pivot A4 in
the corresponding eye, and then
insert the magnetic fastening
button, making sure that the belt
is firmly fastened and does not
move in any direction (Figure 2).
3.
Place the belt A3 around the
patient’s waist, tighten and fasten
using the SALVAFIX magnetic
fastening system (Figure 3).

The SALVAFIX belt must be
adjusted to the patient’s waist
without being excessively tight.
The SALVAFIX belt, thanks to the
articulation straps that join the base
A1 with the belt A3 enables the
patient to make a quarter turn from
left to right to ease changes
of position.

thighs, fasten firmly to the bed
frame (P) using the straps C2 with
the magnetic lock C3.
2.
Adjust the padded thigh
band C1 to the patient’s
thigh using the Velcro on

padding.

5. The A6 side bands serve to limit
or prevent turning movements from
left to right. They are also used to
keep the patient in a half-turn
position and facilitate treatment of
bedsores of the trochanter or
sacrum. It is essential that they
are always fitted with the belt to
avoid the patient losing his balance
when turning and falling out of
bed, with the consequent risk of
injuries or even strangulation.

belt.

Instructions for use
1.
Fasten strap G6 to the bed frame
(P) and attach it using the magnetic
lock B. Insert the wristband, with
the light blue padded part facing
upwards, through the eye A5
located at the base of the belt A
(see Figure 1). This restricts the
patient’s hand and arm movements
at the edge of the bed.
2.
Adjust the padded wristband with
the light blue side facing the
patient’s wrist and attach it first
using the G1 and G2 Velcro on
the top and bottom of the padding
(see Figure 2).
3.
Then pass strap G3 through ring
G4. Tighten without excessive force,
making sure that the wrist is firmly
fastened and secure using the G5
magnetic lock (see Figures 3 & 4).

Instructions for use
1.
Fasten strap J firmly to the bed
frame using the magnetic locks J1
and J2 at the level of the patient’s
ankles (Figure 1).
2.
Pass the ankle strap H6 through
one of the rings J3 or J4 and fix
to the fastener (J1 or J2) of the bed
strap depending on whether it is
the right or left foot, making sure
that the light blue padding is facing
upwards (Figure 2).
3.
Adjust the padded ankle band with
the light blue side towards the
patient’s ankle and fasten first using
the H1-H2 Velcro on the front and
rear of the padding (Figure 3).
4.
Then pass the strap H3 through
the ring H4. Tighten without using
excessive force, making sure that
the ankle band is firmly fastened,
and attach using the magnetic lock
H5 (Figures 4 and 5).
The strap H6 may be tightened to a
greater or lesser extent depending on
the eye selected for fastening with the
magnetic lock J1 or J2, and the
movement of the foot/leg is thereby
regulated. (Figures 5 and 6).
