3 General description and use for the purpose in-
tended
3.1 General description
Dishwasher with a square basket.
The Dishwasher has one wash and one final rinse cycle.
The temperature regulator maintains the wash temperature of 58-60 °C. A centrifu-
gal pump circulates the water out of the cleaning tank into the clean nozzles. The
water jets reach the items to be cleaned out of differing directions. Therefore an
even cleaning result can be guaranteed.
The cleaning cycle is followed by the fresh water final rinse. The items are rinsed
via a separate nozzle system with hot fresh water at 80 - 83° C (for glass pro-
gramme 65 °C). Thus heating up the items for the following drying process.
At the same time the final rinse water serves for the regeneration of the wash wa-
ter, the level of soil of the wash water thus being reduced.
3.1.1 Detergent dosing
The detergent dosing unit (option) is designed for the automatic adding of liquid,
alkaline detergent into the wash water (manually adding of detergents is not re-
commended).
The detergent is transported out of the container into the clean tank by means of a
hose line. The dosing equipment is self-priming. Dosing occurs during each filling
cycle and at the beginning of each program cycle via timer control.
Normally, a dosing of approx. 2 ml of detergent per liter of tank water is the correct
concentration. This can be increased/reduced acc. to the water quality, items to be
washed and degree of soiling to 5 ml/l or to1 ml/l.
3.1.2 Rinse aid dosing
The rinse aid dosing unit is designed to automatically add liquid final rinse aid into
the fresh water.
The rinse aid is pumped out of the storage container into the fresh water supply
line through a hose. The dosing equipment is self-priming. Dosing takes place dur-
ing each filling cycle.
The correct dosing results in a smooth, even water film.
In case of overdosing, there are bubble and stripe formations - reduce dosing.
In case of under-dosing, water drops remain on the washed items - increase do-
sing.

The fresh water connection must be effected as per EN 1717 or local regu-
lations.
The basic model of the dishwashing machine features a freely available outlet
(type AB as per EN 1717) and does not require any other safety equipment in
the water supply.
The safety equipment in the water supply must be implemented according to
EN 1717 for dishwashing machines featuring water treatment.
The requirements of the clean water supply in the accompanying GiO module op-
erating instructions must be observed for machines equipped with the GiO module.
The minimum flow pressure of the fresh water supply upstream of the solenoid
valve must be 0.6 bar, and 1 bar on machines with a GiO module. The maximum
pressure must not exceed 5 bar.
If the minimum flow pressure is not reached, increase the flow pressure
with a booster pump; if the maximum pressure is exceeded, limit it with a
pressure reducer.
A water stop is integrated into the machine's fresh water line. This, togeth-
er with the leakage detector in the base tub, ensures that the fresh water
inlet within the machine is shut off in the event of a leak.
Suitable protective measures must be taken to ensure that no iron particles
can enter the appliance via the mains water supply. Similarly, precautions
must be taken to prevent the entry of other metal particles, for example
copper turnings. Corresponding instructions are contained in the installa-
tion drawing. Appropriate measures must be taken.
A dirt trap must be fitted into the fresh water supply to protect the solenoid valve.

6.7 Requirements for the waste water connection
A waste water pump is integrated in the waste water line (further infor-
mation about this is in the technical sheet).
The drain hose must be connected to the waste water pipe in the building.
A grease trap may be needed, depending on the machine application.
The requirements of the waste water supply in the accompanying GiO
module operating and service manual must be observed for machines
equipped with a GiO module.
6.8 Emergency-off
Switch the machine off completely via the on-site circuit breaker.
6.9 Chemicals for the operating the machine
Only alkali detergents and acid rinse agents suitable for use in commercial dish-
washers may be used. Relevant information is provided by the manufacturers of
these products.
MEIKO recommends brand cleaning products from leading manufacturers.
cleaning and hygiene products are an excellent choice.
Using unsuitable products can considerably reduce the service life of the dosing
units and other machine components. Observe the manufacturers' dosing instruc-
tions.
Detergents and rinse aids can present a health hazard if they are not correctly
used. Please observe the manufacturers’ instructions on the original packing and
on the safety data sheets.
"Items for rinsing are tribologically influenced in particular by chemicals and in-
creased temperatures during the process, as well as mechanical stresses caused
by handling and transporting."
If a descaling agent is used, please strictly observe the manufacturer’s handling
and safety instructions. After such an agent has been used, the product must be
completely removed from the machine, as even small residues are capable of
destroying plastic parts and sealing materials.
Chemical product settings
The correct settings for the quantity of detergent and rinse agent depend on the
product used. The relevant chemical supplier can install the correct setting.

7 Adjustment of the machines effected by author-
ised service technician during the first setting in
operation
7.1 Commissioning
Commissioning and training will be handled and provided by MEIKO- authorised
service technician. The operator must not use the machine before completing train-
ing.
To avoid damages or dangerous injuries during the setting in operation of the
dishwashing machine, please observe the following points:
Any required initial inspections on supplied parts, such as external water treatment
units are mandatory. More detailed information, if required, can be found in the rel-
evant operating instructions.
WARNING
Risk of injury, damage to property!
Due to inappropriate working with the dishwashing machine.
The chapter "General safety instructions" must be read and understood by all per-
sons who will operate or make service, resp. repair works on the machine.
Before the first start, check if all tools and foreign parts are removed out of the in-
stallation.
Make sure that any liquid spills have been removed.
Activate all the safety systems and door switches before commissioning.
Check that all screw connections are tight.
If the machine display does not light up on initial commissioning (no boot, icon
such as the MEIKO logo is not lit) check circuit breaker F1 (line circuit breaker).
Read the chapter "General safety instructions".
The "Commissioning certificate for GiO modules" must be observed for machines
equipped with a GiO module and the instructions adhered to accordingly.
