INTRODUCTION
We thank you for the confidence you
have placed in our company by choos-
ing a wheelchair from this series.
With all equipment and their accesso-
ries the wheelchair offers die respec-
tive adaptation to your disability.
Like any other vehicle, a wheelchair is
a technical aid. It is subject to expla-
nations, requires regular care and can
cause danger when used improperly.
The correct handling must therefore
be learned. This operating manual
is to help you get accustomed to the
handling of the wheelchair as well as
to prevent accidents.
☞Note:
Please note that the illustrated
equipment variants can deviate
from your model.
We have therefore also listed chapters
with options that might not be appli-
cable for your individual wheelchair.

Read and observe the following
documentation belonging to the
wheelchair before first operation:
– this operating manual,
– Safety and general handling in-

☞Note:
Children and juveniles should read
the documentation belonging to
the wheelchair together with their
parents respectively a supervisor or
an accompanying person before
first use.

Alternatively users with visual impair-
ments can have the documentation

INDICATIONS
If the following indications occur we
recommend the application of this
mobility product:
☞Walking disability resp. extremely
limited walking ability as part of
the basic need to move around in
your own home.
☞The need to be able to leave home
for a short walk in fresh air or in or-
der to reach the places, commonly
in the perimeter of the home, re-
quired to fulfil basic needs.
☞The ability to use the wheelchair
with own personal strength must
be given.
☞Provision with this type of wheel-
chair is to be considered when
the adaptation and adjustment
possibilities of standard and light
weight wheelchairs is not suffi-
cient.
ACCEPTANCE
All products are checked for faults
in the factory and packed in special
boxes.
☞Note:
☞However, we request that you
check the vehicle for possible
transport damage immediately on
receipt – preferably in the pres-
ence of the carrier.
☞The packaging of the wheelchair
should be stored for a further
transport that might become nec-
essary.
SPECIFICATIONS
The wheelchair was developed for
adults and adolescents. Three frames
are available:
– short,
– medium,
– long.
The wheelchair solely serves to trans-
port one person in the seat and not
as a hauling aid, transporter or similar.

USE
The wheelchair can universally be im-
plemented on level, hard surfaces and
is therefore an allround-wheelchair:
– for indoors (e.g. apartment, day
care),
– outdoors (e.g. in parks),
– as a companion on tours (e.g. in a
bus or train).
The wheelchair offers manifold ad-
justment possibilities to individual vi-
tal statistics.

Attention:
Always have adaptation and ad-
justment work carried out by a
specialist dealer.
ADJUSTMENT
The specialist workshop will hand out
the wheelchair to you under consid-
eration of all relevant safety instruc-
tions, ready for operation and adjust-
ed to your needs.
☞Note:
☞We recommend a regular control
if the wheelchair adjustment in
order to ensure a long-term opti-
mal provision even with changing
illness/handicap patterns of the
user. Especially for children and
juveniles an adjustment every 6
months is recommendable.
☞We recommend regular medical
exams in order to ensure safety for
active participation in traffic.
☞Retrospective adjustments should
be carried out solely by the special-
ist dealer!
LIFE SPAN
We expect an average life span of
about 4 years for this product, as far
as the product is applied for its des-
ignated purpose and all maintenance
and service guidelines.
The life span of your product depends
upon the frequency of use, the appli-
cation environment and care.
The implementation of spare parts
can prolong the life span of the prod-
uct. As a rule spare parts are available
up to 5 years after production is dis-
continued.
☞The indicated lifespan does not
constitute additional guarantee.

BRAKE
By locking the brakes with the brake
lever (1), the wheelchair is secured
against rolling away unintentionally
(parking brake).
Depending on the version, the wheel-
chair can be equipped with pressure
brakes (2) or with drum brakes (3).
☞Note:
Therefore observe the Mainte-
nance schedule on page 18 as
well as safety and general han-
dling instructions < Mechanical
and muscle powered wheelchairs >
chapters < General safety informa-
tion > and < Brakes >.

Attention:
Arrange an immediate repair of
the brakes by your specialist work-
shop if the braking performance
reduces.
Pressure brake - user
Locking the brakes
To secure the wheelchair against
any unintentional rolling, press both
brake levers down all the way (4).
☞Note:
It should not be possible to push
the wheelchair forward when both
brakes are locked.
Releasing the brakes
Pull both brake levers completely up-
ward (1).
Operating brake
The wheelchair is braked down with
help of the handrims.
☞Note:
If needed use suitable gloves in order
to brake down the wheelchair.

Calf belt
The removable calf belt (1) prevents
the feet from sliding off the back of
the footplates.
!
Attention:
Never drive without calf belt (ex-
cept when shuffling)! – Danger of
accident!
Removing the calf belt
Removal of the calf belt is achieved by
opening the velcro strap.
Attaching the calf belt
For attaching the calf belt is guided
around the front frame tube [2] and
adjusted to the corresponding length
with the velcro fastener.
FOOTPLATE
A footplate (3) is available that can be
adjusted in height, angle and depth
to the individual requirements.

ARM SUPPORTS
The arm supports (1) serve at the same
time as arm support, clothes guard
and wind guard.
!
Attention:
No not grab between the frame
and arm support. – Danger of jam-
ming!
• Do not lift the wheelchair using
the arm supports.
• The wheelchair should only be
used with the arm supports assem-
bled!
Swivelling up the arm support
– Pull the arm support with a lit-
tle forward pressure out of the
bracket (clamping mechanism) and
swivel it upwards [2].
!
Attention:
Removed side elements must
be carefully replaced before the
wheelchair is used again!
Inserting the arm support
– If necessary clamp the arm support
with a little pressure as far as pos-
sible into the arm support bracket
[3].
☞Note:
Check the correct clamping of the
arm supports.

BACK SUPPORT
Folding over the back support
For storage or transport the back sup-
port (1) can be folded over and locked
into place [4].
– For this swivel the arm supports in
first [2].
– Then by pulling or pressing the
cord [3] unlock the back support
and fold it completely onto the
seat [4].
☞Check the engagement of the back
support with a quick jerk.
Folding up the back support
– For raising the back support, first
pull or press the cord in the mid-
dle and then pull the back support
back as far as possible [2]. – The
pressure bolt must audibly lock
into place.
☞Check the engagement of the back
support with a quick jerk.
☞Note:
The greasing of the thrust bolts is
recommended for an easier latch-
ing of the back support.
– Swivel the arm supports outward
and insert them again [5].
☞Note:
Therefore observe chapter Insert-
ing the arm support on page 10.

Fitting the back belt
The tension of the back support is ad-
justable.
– Pull off the flap of the back sup-
port and fold it to the front [1].
– Open the Velcro fastener of the
belt that you wish to adjust and
close it again after adjustment.
!
Attention:
The overlapping of the Velcro fas-
tener has to be at least 10 cm!
– Pull the back belt to the back again
and attach the velcro strap [2].

WHEELS
Tyre damage on pneumatic
tyres
☞For repairing tyre damage we rec-
ommend the use of a foam car-
tridge that is available in special-
ity shops. – Afterwards look up a
specialist workshop as soon as pos-
sible.
Drive wheels
The drive wheels are on a full quick
release axle (1).
☞No person may be seated in the
wheelchair during assembly or re-
moval. The wheelchair must stand
on a level and firm surface. Before
starting the disassembly of a wheel,
support the frame to prevent the
wheelchair from tipping over and
secure it to prevent an unwanted
movement or tipping over.
☞Note:
☞After each assembly the locking
device is to be checked with side-
ward pulling/pressing on the drive
wheels!
☞If the drive wheels has too much
sideward lag or the quick release
axle does not engage, contact your
specialist dealer immediately for
repair.
Quick release axle
The drive wheels can be removed and
reassembled without any tools.
– First press the locking knob (1) of
the quick release axle in the center
of the hub.
– Afterwards remove or attach the
drive wheel [2].
!
Attention:
After inserting the drive wheel the
locking knob (1) must stick a cou-
ple of millimetres out of the wheel
nut.
☞The locking bolt is to be kept clean.
A functional fault may occur in the
case of contamination due to sand
or earth or in the event of freezing
of moist cold air.

SUPPORT CASTORS
Stick-in support castors
Removing/inserting the support
castors
– Depress the corresponding spring
button (1) in order to remove/in-
sert a support castor.
☞The respective spring button (1)
must visibly and audibly engage.
Swing-out support wheels
The support castors (2) can be swiv-
elled inward underneath the seat [4].
☞Swivelling of the support castors
can be done by an accompanying
person or aid.
– Free foot space for the accompa-
nying person with the support cas-
tors swung inwards.
Swivelling the support castors
☞Note:
This function can be performed
with the foot.
Press the support castors down out of
the lock then swivel them under the
seat [4], or toward the back [3] until
the respective lock engages automati-
cally.

MANOEUVRE ROLLERS
For driving through tight passages
(e.g. in trains) the wheelchair can be
pushed over the shunting castors [1]
without drive wheels by an attendant.
Shunting castors without
brakes
!
Attention:
The wheelchair may only be
parked under the supervision of an
attendant! – No braking function
possible!
– Danger of accidents through un-
controlled rolling motions!
☞Note:
When using the shunting castors
the attendant is responsible for
the safety of the person sitting in
the wheelchair.
Height adjustment of the shunt-
ing castors
After changing the seat height as
well as after changing the size of the
wheels, the shunting castors may have
to be adjusted in height again.
☞The correct height setting is to be
checked by the specialist dealer
and readjusted if necessary.

RETAINING STRAP
The retaining strap [1] is screwed from
the back onto the respective back sup-
port tube.
☞Note:
The retrospective assembly of a re-
taining strap is only to be carried
out by a specialist workshop!
!
Attention:
The retaining strap is not part
of the retaining system for the
wheelchair and/or the driver dur-
ing transport in motor vehicles.
TRANSPORT
Carrying the wheelchair
The backrest can be folded forward
onto the seat for carrying the wheel-
chair [2]. The back support bracket (3)
then serves as a carrying handle.
☞Check the locking down of the
back support before carrying the
wheelchair!

Transport security
The wheelchair is only to be secured
through the four securing points (2)
and (3).
☞The anchor positions are marked
with the symbol (4).

MAINTENANCE
An incorrect or neglected cleaning
and maintenance results in a limita-
tion of the product liability.
Maintenance
The following maintenance schedule
gives you a guide for carrying out the
maintenance.
☞They do not give information
about the actual extent of work
required on the vehicle.
